Hello fellow ef-12 ers

Okay so I'm translating these manuals as fast as I can, would possibly be faster if my friend who is a pro at this wasnt at con, but whaatever, we got this!
Anywho nothing fancy just running them through google translate and correcting what I think needs to be fixed, based on my knowledge of 3d junk.

Problem is I'm really a blender machine so I know nothing about softimage and it's terms so somethings (at the moment) maybe mistranslated.
But it's all within reason!
I;ll do a video tutorial on them as soon as I get the manuals translated.

Progress so far 7-19-18:
Currently translated

■ 002_Char_DirectMat_manual

■ 003_Char_StandardMat_manual

Okay so that brings me to the next item. Posting format
Would it be better to post all the items in one topic, like all the manual parts and you just download them all down the line
or should I make it all a folder and you can just download which ones you want from the folder?
or should it be like one topic per manual.

I kinda like one topic per manual that way if someone has a question about a part, it can be asked within the contents of that manual, lIke going to manual 3 on modeling you can ask questions there on that topic, instead of going her on chapter 3 modeling section 2 does anyone know how to do blah blah blah?

But I don't know if that is okay.
Input is deeply welcome so please dont hesitate to reply. ^_^

So Softimage is one of the programs recommended by the developer to use for creating in this engine.
However Autodesk has discontinued Softimage and has made it impossible to download from their website
What a bummer righT! laaame
BUT this works out for us, because it is a discontinued program we an freely share and use it without worry of you know red tape and all that jazz!
SO! here is a copy of Softimage 2013
The manual suggested using 2011, however I wasnt able to find a functioning copy of that version. so lets hope it all works out ya?

This is just a translated compilation of the Beginner Creator section of the EF-12 website, with pictures and hosted links.
The last part of that section Arcade mode thingie is in a Japanese PDF, so that'll have to be posted once i translate it.

Until then please enjoy the first manual in all it's 77 page glory in ODT format
You'll need Libre office to open it( You should be using it as an excel replacement anyway >_>)

Yeah! there is a way to downgrade the visuals and change the frame rate
Run this page through google translate: http://ef-12.com/?page_id=930
and see if it helps you out.

Oh is there any one in the house who has successfully gotten a model into the game or has made some headway in creating anything for it?
If so lets hear from you, any bit of information no matter how small will help in the long run

But seriously, I'll be helping move this project along, gathering materials and documenting things,
Backup and translate the official guide, gather the software you need collect plugins and after reading all that jazz, try to make a bunch of video tutorials.
I hope that you help me in this because Ef-12 is just... so cool ^__^

Hii! My name is Zero and I'm with the Mighty Ginkgo group on youtube
For awhile we mostly done Second life stuff but the boss decided that we're gonna expand into making tutorials as well as content for other games.
So it was either the Sims or this and this won out(because it was way cheaper than the sims XD)

So what I would like to do is gather as much information on this engine and create easy to follow tutorials as well as provide as many resources as I can for the starting EF-12 user.

I know there are a few tutorials out there already but they are .. rather... something...
I'm greatful for it but it took awhile to wrap my head around what was going on and I understand blender >_<

That being said I would really like to do what I can to make this community shine all pretty like and stuff, as it kinda sucks that the devs are like" This program is still under water"
>_< I want this to be fun for everyone!

Soo, Umm.. i kinda need a tutor there are still a few things I don't understand quite right and I hope someone can expain it to me.

I get how to rig and import a character in to the game.
As of this post I'm testing out custom garments for the default female/test female.

the animations I think I understand, but I still have questions for example
-Do you need to use the g6lite rig?( All those IK's are a pain in the butt)
-Is it possible to make animations using the skeleton from the Editwoman blend?
(Seriously animationg with FKs would be super easier and much faster)
I trie dit out but it didn't come out quite right.. I'm hoping that I did something wrong and it's just erroring because of that(please don'tsay no T_T)
-Is there a guide that shows you how to choose as well as create a move set?

That's pretty much all of it for now, I hope theres still some life left in here , if not well.. I've been known to be one hell of a necromancer XD
