No. Helpers shake and suck as timers and bars. I wouldn't use one as a timer if I could avoid it.

You can use the removeexplod state controller, which is basically the same thing as destroyself.

Otherwise, use the helper parameter Xgargoyle suggested.

place the change state for the move all the away at the beginning of your statedef -1. If it works, then you have other commands interfering.

Yeah. I don't think I've ever heard of that either. Or maybe I've just never used it after all this time. It doesn't make any sense, though, since anything that can be hit by a projectile will already be hit by a projectile, unless a hitby or nothhitby sctrl prohibits it.

I just thought the hitflag parameter of the hitdef determined the type of state p2 had to be in for the hitdef to work.

But then again this is MUGEN and a lot of useful tricks are not documented. =/

If you leave the first argument of the ATTR parameter blank, the hitdef will not be affected by reversaldefs, but the hitdef will work as normal. Useful if you don't want moves to be countered or projectiles to be reflected.
