While it looks good, we all know what it always does.

Usually, since there are no rules, some elitist group that thinks IT has the right to make those rules comes in and bullies people around to the point that THEIR rules become the "norm" and FUCK anyone who thinks differently.

Sound familiar?

Maybe a new RULE in the new "Mugen community" should be to make sure that doesn't happen again.

Oopsie, can't find anyone who knows who you are or cares =D

Not surprising. Most sane Mugen fans abandoned the scene when trolls like you became the norm.   :)

HOLY FUCKING SHIT.

It only took 8 years, God knows how many forums, versions of the software, the company that started it all disappearing, etc., for it all to come back full circle.

Karma is a bitch.

Thank you, whomever spearheaded this move to bring some common sense back into one of the most elitist, smarmy, asshole, jerk FUCKTWIT 'community' the internet has ever had the displeasure of containing.

Thank you to all the elitist 'creators' for prolonging this completely idiotic belief that a game engine that allowed the creation of characters, stages, concepts, whatever, was EVER meant to be closed source. I don't care who you are or were, if you ever thought for a millisecond that anything that you do on the internet was 'yours', especially considering the obvious FACT that we ALL stole every single aspect of the very 'creations' that claim that at ours, you are a dumb shit. Internet was invented to share information, at its inception. Mugen, was created to openly share concepts for everyone to use. Even your precious 'code' in 99.99% of the case, is a blatant theft of the original idea of the very company 99.99% of you took in the first place.

Big fuck you goes out to each and every single closed minded, selfish, egotistical bastard that believes that somehow, what has been done here, is unwrapping the very fabric of reality - if mankind did not take ideas, and build from them, we would not have had anything created anew, or built upon, or further improved, PERIOD. That is human nature in itself, how fucking stupid are you fuckers? Now it's so-called, 'open season', on your ripoff character conversions, and you want to close Pandora's box? Too damn bad - the box itself has been open for thousands of years, grow the fuck up, grow some fucking balls, (or some tits) and welcome to the human race. It's a nasty place out there. Hopefully Mommy can make all those meanie leechers and lamers give back your mana from heaven that you have decided to gift us unwashed heathens with.

Here's a question for all you peeps out there - what if big, bad Elecbyte really did come back? What if they said, oh, I don't know, some shit like, 'If you choose to make use of the Mugen engire, all subsequent creations are automatically drafted as part of our source. We hold the ultimate rights to add and/or distribute any and all modifications back into the collective creating source that is Mugen. If you do not agree with these point, please do not use our software.' Then what? You'll just stop releasing shit? Fucking fantastic! Because if they start acting like that, it's not like they will end up with arguably the world's greatest example of its kind for those who are willing to put foolish grandstanding aside...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux ....Oh wait....they could....

Or would you go on and keep doing what you've been doing, despite their wishes, and companies like Type-Moon?

Mugen was dying in the Bravenet days, when someone dared to edit VK's Gouki.

Mugen was dying when TESTP and Elecbyte up and disappeared.

Mugen was dying when people passworded characters, and purposely jumbled CNS files.

Mugen was dying when MRev caused a big stir.

Mugen was dying when all you could see for a time was crappy Dragon Ball Z edits.

Mugen was dying when (insert random creator name here) left, and everyone decried the end was near.

Mugen is dying because one of the biggest forums for it finally took the red pill.

Mugen is dead.

Long live Mugen.

Q F fucking T

I respect creators. I write screenplays, some that take years to finish and be content with. Screenwriters are abused like no other. Imagine something ENTIRELY done on your own, not just stolen, but stolen and credited for by someone else, and SOLD for lots of money, and you're left with nothing but the knowledge that it was once yours. Nobody else really cares. It's a business. That happens sometimes.

So I certainly understand where you're coming from and I agree that anyone who steals and takes credit is a scumbag.

That said. YOU PUSHED IT TOO FUCKING FAR. It's OK to want respect and credit for your creations. It is OK to warn people that stealing creations is bad. It is not OK to push your views on everyone else and expect EVERYONE, even people who initially know NO BETTER, to follow YOUR rules or be ridiculed and HATED. It is NOT OK to disallow ANY FORM of debate on the subject, and gang up with like-mined e-friends to TORMENT people. It is NOT OK to wish harm, pain, or DEATH upon people for stealing characters (seen it here in the last few days). You IMMEDIATELY LOSE the argument when you do that. I will take the side of the most low-down scummy thief EVER over a veteran creator who wishes DEATH on someone for something so trivial, even if it's not literal death.

This was a long time in the making. I would bet money that all these "omg newbzz" registering are not all 12 year olds looking for bad characters. There are some Mugen users who left the scene because it became SHITTY. I'M ONE OF THEM. I've been using Mugen for 7 years, longer than some of you, and have created some things yet never fully finished due to the "community" and the lack of time on my own part. But I've tried. And since these rules have taken place, I've NEVER had the urge to create something for Mugen like I do now. For once, it actually feels like a community. Before this it was NO community, it was some kind of sick elite nightclub that kicked people out for wearing the wrong shoes.

I've long thought that the "rules" of the community reached the point of HURTING far more than HELPING, only I couldn't say a word about it because I would be ganged up on and/or banned. Just happened to me on another forum. Warned for the SLIGHTEST disagreement. And THAT is why this all happened. You have only yourselves to blame. When you ask "why?" think of any time you were a dick to someone who knew no better. THAT'S WHY.

Again, I respect creators but the "community" TOOK IT TOO FAR. It was a long time coming, and good riddance to the old Guild.

It's funny how you all mention what's winning in the poll, yet nobody mentions what the poll REALLY shows: The majority of users on this forum either PREFER these changes, or don't care at all. How telling.

If it bothers you this much, I'd suggest quitting. Life is too short. Your creations were greatly appreciated and it sucks to see you go. But damn, if you get worked up about this too much, for your own sanity, go private or give up. Honestly.
