The simplest solution: Set the movement controls to the Dpad, not the analog stick. Seriously, so long as the controller's plugged in and you set up the controls for it, you don't need to do anything else.

for some reason it cant detect the 360 dpad, but with that program you can assign the dpad to keys on the keyboard & that solves it

Ill have to look into that pad

the program didn't work since it still detected the analog

that wont matter, just set the d pad to different keys on the keyboard and then disable the joypad in mugen, then just set the keys as if you were playing with a keyboard

http://xpadder.com/download.html  this program works perfectly  ;)
you can use it to map keyboard buttons to a 360 pad and when you are playing you really wont tell the difference, it will be like the game was made for it

is there a way to change the button layout for a specific character? i hate it when i set the buttons in mugen and then find one or 2 of my characters have a different layout than the others

i know i will need to edit one of the files but what one & how? ???

i had the exact same problem with my xbox360 pad but this program worked for me :)
