Why did watching Rambo inspire you to make a Mary Marvel char?   o_O

It looks great though.  But I agree, after you finish the countdown mary, you should work on the cape and make a "classic" costume as well.

I dunno, im strange that way. But working on this char is tougher then I even thought. I had to learn about Mary Marvel's history pre-crisis and alternate versions. Ive been kicking around ideas for 2 straight days and hope to show you the next costume she will have soon. I have been trying to work on the hair, I still need practice and as for a cape... I know I need to put that thing in for her. Got most of the ideas on paper already, all I have to do is finish up things like what I want punches, kicks, and throws to look like. And yes, I got 3 sheets of paper already of stuff I want to try to get done with her. This includes poses, supers, specials, costumes and other issues that I need to find info on. Maybe ill be ready to sprite on Thursday or Friday...  --;

the sprite is quite good... you just need to fix a bit the shading on the hair... but i guess it will be a letdown for Mary Marvel fans... since they would probably want the "nice innocent" girl pre-Infinite crisis instead of the "Angered" version.

I don't want to make you drop your wip of anything... far from it... if you really like that version of Mary, go for it.

but In my view, when you transport a character from other media, you should use its more iconic version, the version that comes to peoples mind when you think about that character... the variations come as extra modes or something like that.

if you really want a "bad marvel" you should really try Black Adam.

IMHO

Honestly, I didnt think too many people actually knew who the char was. I picked this version because it was the most current version and had a nice new costume. I will try to put the other costumes in the final version but for right now this costume is the easiest to get done for me. This is all new to me, im still learning how to sprite and as I learn more Mary will get better. The hair... yea, it sucks but until I learn how to get it looking right this will do for now, after all... MM is maybe only 1% done  and I have much to read up on.

I wouldnt mind making this Mary Marvel a variant within the char. The moves and things that im thinking up leave her more like the classic version anyway. Oh well, I really got to put some time into her and maybe if I get better and the Crisis goes well with her she will be the white or red suit wearing gal again!

Well, I wanted to start with Captain Britain and stuff but I got home after watching the beyond violent Rambo (love this movie) and I started playing with a few sprites and came up with this. This is the first one I have ever made but I just want to run it by you guys to see if I started correct. Its a MvC type of char and I think I want her to be the first thing I make... unless I get bored and try for Black Adam  :P

Oh yea, she dosent have much detail yet but im mainly looking for advice on making hair. Any other advice on shading is welcome as well. I know nothing about coding but im gonna apply myself to making her. If its far away im sorry, I couldnt get a closer shot.

Is there a text guide out there that gives a good description on how to create game intros? Also, if anyone knows... is it possible to insert videos into the intro as well?  ???

Hello, im pretty new to MUGEN. This is my first attempt at creating anything for MUGEN but I have been loving the chars everybody creates and now I feel its time for me to not just wait for something to come out but to help the community. Just wondering if someone could answer two questions.

1) Does anyone know a good site that teaches a person about how to "frankenstein sprites"?

2) What would you consider the first step in creating the character? The sprites or something else?

Im trying to make a decent "US Agent" and "Captain Britain" chars but I dont want them to be Captain America clones. I was just taking a look at a few sprite sheets and from what I heard all I had to do was kinda cut and paste sprites to complete the character but I dont know anything solid and some sites ive been to lightly touch on this. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

1)-the whole "taking bits of this and that" and turning it into a char? that's a good idea, for your first char:)
i don't think there are any direct tutorials, but im sure someone will be willing to help you one on one
2)-before going into any work on sprites, go over the vast array of mugen tutorials, especially elecbyte's...
i had a bit of trouble when i first looked at them, but i'm getting used to them now:)
Remember, there is coding also, and assembling the entire sprite files together, but that's the easier, time consuming part:)
download Fighter Factory as well, and for good measure, Mugen Character Maker.
I hope you know how to cut and paste:P
ill add more soon...

I have Fighter Factory, I also downloaded Mugen Editing Ensemble. I have no idea how to work that lol. Thanks for the response. Hope to find out more soon. The whole Captain Britain flying thing is gonna suck... I just know it.  :D
