can you fix it?  ummm... realistically, probably not.  As soon as you try and update one aspect of an outdated character that is unplayable in your version of mugen, you'll find that it's best to just weep sadly and let the character die.

At least, that's as far as I know with outdated characters, sorry.

When you say the boxes, I'm assuming you mean the character select boxes that you must navigate to in order to pick that character.

Look at your screenpack's select.def.  Scroll down to where you added the names of the characters in your roster.  It may be that you added those names without taking out the randomselect or placeholder slots.  That would mess up the formatting for every line after where you added the characters.

So try taking out one "randomselect" or placeholder spot at the top of the list for each character name you added...

.. If that doesn't make sense, just try entering in the names of the characters you have 10 times each.  Hopefully when you go to play that'll make it clear what the layout for your particular screenpack is.

Good luck.

If by messed up you mean that the colors are all black and whack, then you may want to look into dos2win conversion program for mugen.  I'm sure you'll find it if you google.

Good luck,

I loved this character Havok, and wanted to add sounds and fix bugs, but I can't find the original author's web site, and his email listed in the readme is no longer valid.

Here's what the old Havok looks like in action:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFX-GbzaA1s

Here's one of the places where I found him, although I'm fairly sure it's not the original authors web page:

And finally here's my tweek on Havok
http://www.sendspace.com/file/iuir4a

What's new:
+Fixed infinately looping QCB+PP super move and added hitboxes so it did damage properly
+added sound effects to special moves and supers (such as yelling "cry havok!" for QCF+KK)
+added move-list to folder

What's still missing:
-Lots of sounds

Overall, a very fun character IMO.  You can really chain together a lot of super moves, yet there's enough skill involved where it doesn't feel cheap.  For example, you can roll-attack the enemy with qcf+k, then upper cut them into the air and perform an air-super and it feels very satisfying to pull off.

BTW, this is my first character post of any kind anywhere.  So if you have any suggestions I'm all ears.

Thanks Ninno for this extreamly well crafted stage.  I must admit that I was scared during the instillation process.  You know, like, "what if the character patcher is buggy or I mess something up?"

But it's installed now and it's a really great stage.  I actually did mess up a little, I accidently loaded the top-projector in the wrong spot at first.  Anyway, a very fine stage with some impressive effects.  The most impressive being the hologram, above all else.
