Could someone with this char upload him to sendspace or something similar? Because I can't seem to download him from his hosted site.

So it's how I thought...

What I have done for now (and I guess will continue to do) is creating a "mbevo" folder inside the character's (I will be using) folder and make a copy of their definition file and sprite.sff and just edit that one to change the portrait and in my screenpack that uses the changed portrait, change the path to the new .def for each character.

What i mean by this is where does mugen retrieve the value of a character from the sprite.sff for the big portrait? Like:

bigportrait=9000,1

Or something along these lines. I found a few things about the small portrait but I am not changing that right now. A better way to put this is how does mugen know to look in sprite group 9000 image1 for the big portrait, and where would I find this in mugens settings?

Finding this would be useful when setting a portrait to one screenpack only, like the custom portrait sizes in Melty Blood Evo v2. Good for use in a multiple screenpack personal mugen.

Now I see I didn't really have a problem because this made no difference when I changed it to the larger one. :P

I guess I don't need anything answered.

I am trying to set up a multiple screenpack mugen, and the one problem I can not seem to get around is different screenpacks having different sized common.snd 's which probably means they are different things. Here is a picture for reference:

http://i39.tinypic.com/35k0bxi.jpg

1. Shows the separate folders for my screenpacks or motifs

2. This is my actual question. As you can see those files are not the same because of the different sizes. To get around this problem I tried putting all the files from the top window (excluding mugen.cfg) into "Mugen Default" and the same for "Coruscation" because coruscation did not come with it's own common.snd file. Then I tried running my mugen in coruscation and it opened up fine but when a battle was about to start it would give me this error: http://i44.tinypic.com/2vucxzt.jpg
   - The red circled items are the files I moved to the coruscation folder (from /data to /data/coruscation)
   - Black box, the error. I would like this explained please.
   - Purple is the screenpack selector I am using (searches for select.def 's)

I hope someone here understands what I am trying to do or will at least explain the purpose of common.snd and .cns and why it doesn't work when in a screenpacks folder instead of directly in /data.

Sorry for bothering you with these questions, I'm glad I'm learning the ropes around here with mugen. I am not using that screenpack anymore. I've found a few I like better here on the guild.

This is my newest question and I should probably make a new topic or search through old ones to find an answer.

Is it possible to use more than one screen pack, but use .bat files or something else to boot into the one you want? I also have a "screenpack selectorv2" but don't know how it works because the readme isn't to detailed.

You don't need to test it :P but you could inform me on how to add my own music to the different screens =D

Edit: What I'm trying to say is that with multiple screenpacks wouldn't the fonts overwrite each other and the same for some other things? Is there a valid way to separate them?

Did you download and test this for me? If you did was there music playing on the menu, and versus screen?

If not, how could I add that?

As in not available in arcade and other "vs computer" game types, but only in versus and practice where you fight a dummy or another human.

This would be very useful for including god tier characters that you don't want usable during arcade (or don't want to have to fight them :P)

Oh, lol I made a stupid mistake. The mugen I am using is from randomselect.com but I downloaded the "stages only" version :P

I should have used mugen+

As for that stage.def thing, I can't even find stage.def but I'll update this after I change to mugen+ and see if that is automatically fixed.

Thank you so much! I am now to the point where I can run it fine and the main menu looks great. Only one problem: It's way to big for my window...

On the character selection screen I am only seeing the top left of the screen and the rest goes off of the page. Any help with this one?

Edit: Actually there is one more error: http://i44.tinypic.com/1zxkwtk.jpg

Can someone help me fix this?

The Read Me text file is in Japanese and my attempts to get it translated have been foiled.

The problem seems to be my notepad program (for viewing system.def and similar) screws up some of the Japanese text inside, and I get an error message about not being able to do something with the system.def file.

Here is the screenpack:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/7q0bvtfnzdf
And the website (first one):
http://mugendoori.web.fc2.com/

The file is <10mb so it hopefully isn't a hassle. The read me file is in there. If anyone could help me out it would be IMMENSELY appreciated.

Oh, and I hope I'm allowed to post links like that, this is my first post. :P
