Now how the HELL do you add the damned prefil portraits to the SFF!?

It doesn't work when I do it!
To be specific, your Miyako prefils, I added them to the SFF.
And to her DEF file I added the path data/char/miyako.def for her arcade intro.

And it will not load the intro up, skipping to the vs screen.

In the profiles of char, the "DEF" is the only file that can not be shared without change because the amount of chars from the other one is different and may have a conflict of codes.

You see, by default, Kyo, Lyzer, and Haruhi are already occupying the image value of 0,1 and 2.
His "DEFS" should be created from just one editing the value of the PCX image and added the "char.sff.

Just wait a little while I'm finishing the rest of the tutorial in English the rest of the screenpack.




hope you don't mind if i help right hloader?

ok to add the profile pics you need to open fighter factory (or any sff editor)
open the char.sff in the char folder in data.
add your portraits as the following way as image 3 (unless you already have image 3 taken, use 4 and so on)
all images HAVE to be 320 x-axis and 0 y-axis

use group 2 to add the emblem
use group 4 to add the character pic (the diamond one)
use group 6 to add the character name (the one that has it on the left bottom corner)
use group 7 to add the small white emblem
and finally use group 8 for the character info

make sure that they have the same image number but are different from previous portraits that are already installed in the char.sff

save and now open any of the .def files in the same folder
(i use kyo.def since its easier to find the text you are going to edit)
copy everything in the def file into new .txt file.

now this is the tedious part (not really)

now find "2,0" using Find (Ctrl+F)
change all the zeros next the two into the number you used for the portraits

were almost done now find 7,0

now save the txt as a def file in the same folder as kyo.def with the name of your choice (akuma, wolverine, etc.)

finally the last part!

now open your mugen and choose your character in arcade, and see if it worked!
if it didn't or if there is pink (this happens rarely) you must recheck the portraits and see if they are transparent

hope you find the tutorial helpful until HLoader releases his!  8)

Edit: Credit goes to DarkFoxX since i used his tutorial and made it 3 times longer to see the step by step procedure :)


EDIT: if you place your portraits as image 3 or 5 or whatever, use THAT number and don't use the 4, as it was used as an example!

do u also need an image converter to view the profile pics?

ok for the pallete part i guess that understandable, it may be the screenpack i had that is why the portraits where messed up. i had change it to battlecry for a better review, but do keep up the good work and i cant wait for the next updates

ok guys cut the guy some slack but on some screenpacks the portraits are not with the right character (hakumen portrait on ragna, ragna portrait on hakumen), some  moves don't connect: (downbk LP when close and facing left, for example)  i cant get the picture out but some colors tend to overlap on the character pallettes (costumes for noobs) than others except for the original ones. other than that both characters are decent.

will the new updates include distortion/astral finishes?

you should let each stage have a music op. from eureka seven anime by the same order that you setup the stages 1-4 other than that the stage is awesome
