A long time ago i had Mugen on the PSP, an although it was undeveloped and unfinished , it had a unique feature that allowed you to choose up to 4 players for a Co-OP simultaneous battle
This construction was only available back in 2006 when i discovered it, ever since then i had looked for every single mugen to see if that option was added on there but there was none...
I heard rumors that it was added on the Beta version of Mugen Alpha, Can anyone confirm if anyone has seen this feature anywhere.

It's a little bit complicated what i'm asking, but i'm trying to understand if there's a way to control sprites that are behind the character or opponent, and what overlays..
How is this established within FF?

Originally i was planning on making a new Mugen engine programmed through flash. on that element alone it was to be more RPG based, either way it was a disaster and in the end i decided to just fully program under Java.

The king of Schools is an RPG based movie like Video game i plan to add this on such apps such as X-Box arcade and Playstation Store.


I have just finished the Complete Soundtrack Score of The King of Schools.

By the way just so you know this project has taken 6 years to make!

In those 6 years

I designed the Characters
Not to mention the Animation lol
Voice Acted
Wrote the Script for the Story
I CG the art
Composed the Soundtrack through FL Studio

From what i have achieved this is exciting stuff so far but there is still much work to do.

Sorry if my English is bad I'm from team G-Flash, i am Chill law.
The King of schools first episeode has begun. were still running test because of encoding issues when porting it to AVI which wouldn't work for some reason the memory overloaded to about 4 gig which is insane..

The Visual will be like nothing you would of ever seen
 this is just the beginning ...

Impressive. Hope you stay true to source material and make her play like she's supposed to, or if you switch it up, make it nice. Unless the project is for art purposes only. Is it?

Shes a proper Fighting Sprite however what i was using her for was more Rpg based she will have all of her signiture moves as she should do both the 1st and 2nd ultra animations...
The hardest animation is her quickness in Fengshui mode her attack speed is identical to the speed in marvel Vs capcom if not Faster..

she looks chibi-ish to me.

The Body is slightly more bigger than a Capcom or Snk designed sprite... we do this so that you can see all the facial animation on the Character...and for that the the Scale of the Characters body itself also has to measured accordingly...

This is the term i like to call "The HD Sprite."

The plan was for her to be animated in the Movie styled Video Game,
She's technically a special Cameo in the movie, She took 2 days and 15 hours to completely finish her body for 3D rotations The animation of her attacks will be something to look forward to..

I'm Endlessly Creating Random Sprites so bare with me lol...
That and i'm currently making a story game for Neon Genesis Evangelion in newsgrounds so my visits may be not as frequent..

Anyway for those who unfamiliar with this game it's an Rpg Game and there's a hidden character named Kasumi who is a Rogue.... At the moment i'm not sure if i want go along with this just yet but the whole idea was to have biotic battles So yeah Miranda and Jack Along with Default Shepard and that Justiscar lady would also be having a role in the game...

Anyway here's Kasumi in sprite form all done from scratch..

I make original character too, easiest method for me is to start with silhouette of the move, since my style as you see on my avatar there is rather kof-ish, I don't use outline so I mostly play with color values.

Thats well planned and Organized Did you create that Character from Scratch or was it modified? Either way great job! she looks like Blue Mary lol I plan moves index wise so it's mostly a huge Sprite sheet archive... The Move Connection on her kicks are excellent  The walk requires more animation cell Motivation Tweaking, in a Beat em up genre i don't think walking is considered piority although it's a question of quality itself...

Good stuff Skullworth. But what exactly is the end result of the project? It doesn't say in the video. A fightng game I assume?

Yeah the Video Is Showing Resources being Created and Analized and  how they were made from scratch from Characters to Vehichles/Machines to Enviroment.. My project isn't mugen based as mentioned before but i Could Easily Create any character i wish and Manipulate it for Mugen...

The Engine is named G-Flash and Was Created in 2006..

The point of this engine was to originaly make a Movie out of it Final Fantasy Style  Just one huge Sprite movie
Using all the Resources i made...

But Friends told me about this place so i might Contribute UNIQUE Sprites  Like ALISA From Tekken 6
Wich i did for another Forum..
Or something even more random than that....  G-Flash Engine is ment to be capable in capturing the artistic motion of Official Sprite Characters..

well hopefully, you do some original char for mugen, not many of original char available, and I agree working from scratch is preferable for me too, I also find it is easier than editing and combining sprites. But it takes time to make a character in somewhat detailed sprite, 1000 + sprites is not something that I can do in a month or two.

It wouldn't Supprise me...But anyone can do it you have to be confident you know what your doing.. but most of all your good with maths if you rush into it the chances are something will end up wrong the common Rushed mistake when Creating a Sprite from scratch is not keeping in Accurate measured State...You also need an Artistic mind,
But your biggest nightmare if you've never created sprites before  is understanding how to make the Walk and Run "properly"  And when i mean properly there are two Sprite movments  The Ken and Ryu Side Strafing walking
Wich is Sutible for any kind of Street Fighting Beat em up..... But the Walk i'm Talking about is the Guy/Cody Walk From Final Fight I always Make My sprites Walk like that Regaurdless Male or Female...

I could Make a Sprite Tutorial with pics  If i had time  lol   xD...

Once everything is in place with my current project..I will Reffer back here and start an official sprite Creation page.

I look Forward into showing you all just exactly what my skills are capable in doing..
I've just been so busy.

My Speciality is Mainly Animating But ofcourse the Design of the Character is Vital as well. :)

I decided to Give the Sprite defult characters an Snk-ish appearance
The only issue is the scale might be too big for mugen so i would have to re scale them..

I Hope the Link shows some Aspect in how i design characters effectivly..
The current project also has my G-Flash Team and Friends Doing Voice overs for the characters... it's Exciting when the hard stuff os out of the way lol... but  all wich is left is Designing more enviroments and enviroment testing..

I'm Using Several Painter Programs To Create them From scratch i then Animate them through Vegas

I Usually Create BackGrounds Through Flash ...

You must keep in mind i've been doing this project since october 2005 and it's still unfinished  lol

I just make it look easy..

Designing Character is the easy part but when it comes down to 19 to 26 frames of Animated frames of that same re-drawn char, It's Basically a question of just how fast you can re-draw the Sprite over and over..

Hows It going guys I heard about this place from my Wife lol

I kinda did sign up many weeks ago but didn't have time to introduce myself... so technically this is my first post.
so i thought i would give it a look around... I really love the projects on here there pretty catchy stuff.

A little about me -


I've been a Video Game Musician for about 3 years.

And Sprite Artist  wich is probably why i was drawn in here in the first place lol..

What im working on now is not exactly "Mugen"  but i would  possibly assume it's relation is in the same category..


I originaly Scrapped this project because i didn't have time but now i'm determined to finish it.

This is more composed than a game..

But it should Show you how i Created my Sprite engine..
