The clouds should move with a slower velocity.
This is the speed they move at in the game; however, I lowered the velocities by about 1/4 anyway since I thought it looked a little nicer that way myself.

Line by line animation of the water is very high quality.
Well, it should look even better now, since I fixed a *huge* problem with the sequencing that somehow slipped right before my unbelieving eyes.

Increase verticalfollow = 0.6. Players go out of camera range before reaching the top.
Done. Thank you very much for your comments and suggestions!

Aside from having left debugbg=1 and specifying an explicit .SFF pathname in the .DEF (not a major issue though), great job. (You drew all of that by yourself? *respect*)

Seeing George Jetson trashed on liquor is fuggin hilarious. :D

Keep it up!

Update: I made some more fixes to the stage, please re-download to get the latest fully patched version. Thanks!

What's new in Version 3.0:
+ Greatly increased parallaxing in the background (trees were manually edited by hand into two layers)
+ All-new, fully parallaxing raster effects on the lake to match the trees (again painstakingly edited by hand, line-by-line)
+ Re-balanced foreground tree layer
+ Much smaller SFF size (I've been trying to cut down the filesizes of my recent stages)
+ Misc. fixes and improvements

As always, I'm open to comments and suggestions.

Everyone knows the Patriots are gonna win they just dont want them to win
that's why they vote for the Giants

I'm afraid I'm guilty of the said charge. --;  But, geez, I wasn't expecting the Patriots' coach to just walk out on them.

Gosh, the head coach for the Patriots just walks out on his team like that!?  o_O

Anyways, I'd like to give congrats to the Giants AND the Patriots for one truly nail-biting, on-the-edge-of-your-seat game.

Too bad for the Seahawks, though.  --;   (curses Seattle's horrid line)

Erm, Genecyst is a DOS app. Are you sure you're downloading the right version?

http://bloodlust.zophar.net/gen/genecyst.html

You'll need DOS4GW.EXE in order for it to work. (Google will reveal many links to this file.)

If all else fails, get the DOS emulator DOSBox: http://www.dosbox.com/download.php?main=1
You'll need a pretty powerful PC in order for DOSBox to work at a good enough speed for Genecyst.
(My 1.6Ghz P4 Northwood chugs along at an agonizing slow pace with DOSBox, but my cranky old Cyrix MII-300 blazes through Genecyst under Windows 98 DOS.)

OK, I'll look into some better music. Expect the next minor version to have an alternate .DEF file which is set to play the alternative music track, after I adjust everything to fix the asymmetry issue.

@ziltama & BigBoss
But it just wouldn't be SoR3/BK3 without crappy music. --;  If it's really that annoying, I'll see if I can put up some alternate music to go along with the usual electronic diarrhea. (Here comes more multiple .DEF files...)
As for the asymmetry, I'll look into it.

@Mr. Sand
Actually, I used Genecyst. I disabled each layer individually and took a ton of screen shots. I put them all together using Paint Shop Pro I think. (DGen and Megasis work for Genesis ripping too but Genecyst is much better as it allows you to also individually advance frames with Ctrl-A, and rip PCX screenshots with F9. Too bad Genecyst won't play certain games well, and doesn't like NT-based OSes...)

Finally fixed some minor but annoying long-standing bugs in my Bare Knuckle 3 Construction Site stage; namely, now the litter should all have proper layerno's, and the DEF and SFF should now both be 100% WinMugen compatible.

Please note that there have been renamed files, please check the Readthis!.txt file included in the archive.

I plan on updating most of my older stages as well, so stay tuned. (And yes, I _will_ get around to finishing that Shadow Dancer stage, once I figure out the animation and get some custom sprites drawn in that don't look like dogsh!t.)

And, as always, please leave any comments if you wish.

Noah has released a second beta release of his Ecoco character; this release simply fixes some (nasty) bugs.

Updates in BETA V2, Version 1/9/2008:
- fixed OwnPal issues (thanks Mature4evr)
- fixed bug where Ecoco would, in some rare occasions, turn into one of her helpers when hit by certain moves
- SFF re-packed using Sprmaker (slightly smaller file, and fixed silly MCM problems)

Enjoy, and let me know if you guys run into any more problems.

Hey,

Our (The 1024th Cylinder's) first character release, courtesy of Noah's hard work:

It's still in beta, so it's not by any means complete. Right now it's got (taken from my site):

- Mildly agressive (but far from unbeatable) AI
- 90~95% accuracy to the original game
- All moves+supers from the game
- (Almost) all graphics and sounds from the game + some new custom gfx
- Optional 3 and 4 button layouts
- A bunch of palettes, incl. a new 'Dark Ecoco' palette
- ...and a special 'Dark Ecoco' mode (select with FP / 'Z' on controller), which allows you to test out some custom 'concept' moves we dreamt up :P

Enjoy, and please go easy on it, it's a first try!

Oh and BTW, Happy Holidays everybody!

@ziltama
Thanks for pointing out that "minor" oversight in the DEF file, and for the not-so-subtle reminder about the stage icon. --;

As for the enemies and stuff, I was working on some enemies that walk around and stuff, but due to recent events I wasn't able to get them completed in time, so I left them out of this release. The final release should have the enemies and everything in it, provided that nothing else trips me up in the meantime...

Edit: D'oh... thanks to ziltama for pointing out my stupidity. The music should work now. Re-downloading now!

Alright everybody, here is an updated version of the Burning Downtown stage from Shadow Dancer. I've made the stage taller and got the exploding manholes implemented, though some things still need a little tweaking yet. Since I'm STILL having some issues with my $#@!! computer I've decided to make a second beta release, which has all my latest work on it to date.

I actually got the bulk of the update done while I was away in California on a trip to my grandparents' house. However, a bout of illness (which had to happen while I was on the trip - figures) kept me from getting anything more accomplished with it till now. I still consider it beta, since I'm not 100% finished with it yet.

Anyway... here it is:

Get it at the usual place:

Enjoy, and please leave comments/suggestions.

I know the zoffset is set to where the characters are in the original Genesis game, but in Mugen, it looks too high.  It seems like the characters should stand on the lighter part of the floor.

Maybe you could make the stage taller, extend the floor, have the characters stand on the lighter part, and add additional background objects like the exploding manholes.

I was going to implement the manholes, but unfortunately I couldn't come up with an idea on how to implement it and make it look satisfactory. But now that you suggested making the stage taller... well, that changes things a bit. (A case of "gee, why didn't I think of that!? :omg:) I'll see what I can do after I get my computer 100% squared away.

Edit Screw that, I'm getting to it right away. (The release might take a while though...)

Hey everyone,

Due to a nasty computer problem that arose of late I wasn't able to get this 100% finished, but I think it's good enough for a beta release. With that said...

It's the Burning Downtown level from the old Genesis game, Shadow Dancer. I tried to get this one as close to the game as possible.
