^you'll need to edit data/MFJ/life_cvs2/namefnt.fnt (make a backup before editing) to your liking

Just do what you want, it doesn't matter if a certain amount of people say they want it or not, there will be people out there who will enjoy the release regardless, even if they don't comment.

hehe I know just too well about silent leechers  :lipsrsealed2:

but it's not just about popularity, winmugen was doing pretty bad with large rosters, it could have been a lot more efficient and stable with some basic caching features, but clearly it was not optimized for large rosters

does mugen 1.0 do any better? because if it does not, adding more slots may not be a great idea, unless I make it optional

I have released recently a MUGEN Fighting Jam screenpack (MUGEN 1.0 compatible) with 600 slots.



But I could update it to 1000 slots if there is some significant interest :)



On one hand more slot = more chars = potentially more fun, etc...

But on the other hand I wonder if 1000 chars could not be a bit too much for an average rig to handle???? Could make the loading time too enormous, and perhaps even impact stability pretty badly... Interested in hearing what you MUGEN experts think, thanks.

This edit was made by Rednavi, hired by the MUGEN ARCHIVE;

The font looks nicer in the 1.0 version, the shot from the old winmugen screenpack, but apart from the font it is the same.

I have added a tutorial and some user friendly shortcuts, so that beginners can get into mugen more easily. :)

If anybody is willing to translate the tutorial to Spanish please let me know because I don't know any speaker, and my own spaniard is very very rusty, haven't used that language for ages.

Can you, you know, post a screenshot of what the select screen looks like? The video in the link just shows the intro, which is kinda useless right now seeing as you say you edited the select screen.

like many winamp has been my main audio player for a long time, until they started adding spywares to it

I use vlc for all mainstream audio formats now and it does a very good job, has a better sound quality than anything else
for chiptunes/minor formats, I use kobarin media player and it can read pretty much anything, it also has a winamp plugin wrapper, what more is there to say?

I can say in all honesty that I do not miss winamp the least, I realize it was one terrible software

Looking for Mugen Fighting Jam screen pack for Mugen 1.0 with support for 591 slots (see screenshot below) as in the axel patched winmugen version. Other important condition, the screen pack must not conflict with characters which have an integrated powerbar (warusaki3 etc..).  You can use the mean of your choice, one good example is cvs2 lifebar by mugen trigger.

Here are all the original files, screenpack by Mugen Jet and patches

not sure about that, some chars from as good coders as GM were broken (though those ones were fixed by the author)

it's always possible to write code with full backward compatibility, it's just harder and they were not willing to do the effort

though I take note that if 99% works fine as they are (which surprises me a bit) then it's not as terrible as I thought

that's what I feared, it seems elecbyte really screwed up big time :-/

they should have known these changes would break tens of thousands of existing characters and that most of them would never be fixed by anybody, what a bunch of idiots :-/
