need a variable that will store the power of the move that increases based on time the button is held with a maximum threshold (unless you want the character to charge an instant kill punch after a certain time) for every tick increase the number stored in the variable have a trigger for release of the button that takes its damage from the variable.

code two moves (states really) one that acts like a power charger (think dbz or Kof) that stores its ever increasing value in a variable the other pne is what happens when that button releases.

so dbz chars have a power charge move like hold z+c and power goes up so do the same thing just instead of
power = power + increase while the button is held u use a variable and then just have dmg=variable in the hitdef

theory should be sound ;)

its a freshman class for non science majors figured the kids would like it and they did some are drawing sprites others are trying to code.  right now its jus an option for a final project.  other kids are using game maker.  im just trying to shake things up at my dept. dunno how far theyll let me go lol.


honestly the course is like a super simplified 4 years of CS we teach everything from binary math to speech rec and robotics and mugen just seems to fit.  instead of teaching the required javascript i can teach mugen code since a lot of the structures are similar.  I was doing HTML and half the kids were like why are you teaching us how to edit myspace no one even uses that anymore. But show them warner's homer fighting wolverine and their jaws drop all the nappers wake up and start yelling out characters and sure enough theyve been done.  so i figured its perfect for all the lil BA's


we got a great CS dept for the longest we were like the only school acredited by ABET.  its super easy to get accepted to

eh enough from me gonna see about adding a super to yoshi

in the .cns you can adjust yscale and xscale he still looks good even when he is blown up.  i left the size small to fit the game but put like yscale=5 xscale=5 and he'll be like half screen huge yoshizilla if you will

that falling through the floor thing is a legacy problem I have to redo the sprite file

crap he's apparantly not 1.0 compliant ummm copy the common1.cns from another character and throw it in there or erase the common1 that is there
