I had just marathon-ed Rayearth maybe 2-3 months ago, so this is pretty awesome to see an update on Hikaru.  Wish I could get a new Lina Inverse someday... *kicks rocks*  :D  Seriously, she looks really good..

Commissioned work is always a slippery slope. Most creators do this as a hobby. When you attach a dollar amount to it, most people find it difficult to work with someone who wants their projects "just so". OR, if there are multiple people splitting the cost, everyone is adamant about they're ideas being implemented because " they paid for it"  and then the whole project suffers from the clash of good and bad ideas.

Based on how much people argue and fight about even the free projects, I can't imagine a commissioned one going well.  That's just my opinion.  You'd need someone that everyone trusts moderating it.

I dunno.  I don't feel like you should chase what's right just because it's obtainable.  I think you should chase it simply because it's the right thing to do, obtainable or not.  Giving up on the dream would make me feel like a shitty person.  Like I climbed up a ladder and pulled it up behind me.

No, I think it IS necessary.  I think representation is important.  Not just for women, everyone.  Whether you are White, Black, Asian, Latino. Gay, Straight, Transgender.  Everyone.  I could go on forever.

I wanna ask my question again.

What do people consider a "good" feminist to be?

We should probably try to steer away from Anita right now.  It seems whenever she is brought up in conversations, the focus become less on Feminism in video games, and more of how people feel about her.  I don't always agree with her, and I agree with people who have a problem with her pointing out non-sexualized violence towards women when it is also there in equal opportunity for men.  However, I DO agree that depending on the game, the violence becomes sexualized and that disgusts me.  MOST games sexualize women. I'm going to stop talking about Anita here. She is not the "be all end all" authority when it comes to video games.

I suppose next you'll educate black people on racism and gay people on homophobia.  You didn't watch it,  you have nothing but hearsay,  why are you even talking?

She does, and I was wondering why she was trying to make it sound like that was a woman specific thing, but if you watch the whole thing, she comes back and balances out the thought. I don't think they watched it all,  or they missed that.  There is definitely a  vast difference between how the female and male interactions are handled in the many examples she provided.  you don't even need her to show you,  just play a game,  practically any game.  it's so obvious and prominent, saying it doesn't exist is ignorant.

I watched the video. She didn't seem like a man hater to me. I think she actually made a few points and had some interesting ideas.  What makes you think she hates men?  Did I miss something?  What qualities do you think makes for a GOOD feminist?

You and me both.  I didn't code it, Avalon did.  I know it doesn't freeze or slow at all in my Mugen 1.1 and it only lags the tiniest, tiniest bit on my 1.0.  I know that depending on how fast your computer is, the speed varies.  I don't know how to speed it up without dropping the FX,

Alex, I think I fixed everything you said except that last part with the sprpriority.  The Med Standing punch doesn't even have one unless you were referring to it's helper part.  Besides, I think it's layered how I intended it, so I left it alone.

Thank you again for the critique and I will try to be thorough with testing in the future.

Ok, I never noticed the shadows because I was testing in 1.1 and they don't show up there.  I'll have to test in both from now on.

Good criticisms, I'll try to improve on what I can from this.

I don't hate feedback, but sometimes people leave comments that they THINK is feedback, but it's really just "your character is bad".  OK, what am I supposed to do with that?  What exactly is bad?  I need to narrow it down the specific problem. Sometimes I agree with it, sometimes I don't.  Sometimes, because of my weak skills in certain areas, there isn't much I can do. I'm still learning.

For example, with these sprites.  I didn't start this Zatanna from scratch, so I tried to just keep her how she was, but add a few new sprites.  I'm not a good spriter, but I did my best.  I suppose I could have shown a bit more love and re-do ALL of them, but I didn't.  She also doesn't have multiple palettes because I don't know how to make them. Sorry. I DO feel bad about that.  I love Zatanna too, and I love Jubilee.  That's why I chose them.  I just can't show it like some of the pros can.

With Jubilee, people told me the CLSN were bad, so I went back and fixed them. Or the sounds and FX needed tweaking, so I did that.  I'm STILL trying to fix her. She was easier because I had more sprite source material to work from because Avalon did them for me.  I feel that if you don't have a lot of sprites, you don't have a lot of options. I tried to do the best with what I could at the time. Are either of them perfect?  No, but I hope you can enjoy them just the same.  It doesn't mean that I can't go back and fix them as my skills get better. I learned a lot making them!

So I will watch this thread and you guys can leave me your criticism here and I will read it.
If it's about those doves though, I know, I'm just still tryin to figure THAT out!  LOL
