Versus Sol, your best bet is probably IB Revolver and then try to throw him. For all the characters you listed, you can try maybe IBing the sweep so you can try to 6P Sol out of Bandit Revolver; remember that 6Ps in Guilty Gear tend to have invul against air attacks, and Axl/Ky/I-No have pretty fast ones.

Mappa Hunch is supposedly -1/-2 on block depending on the version, so if Slayer is hitting you with a fast normal afterward, that's probably why you're getting counterhit out of whatever you're doing.

Keep in mind, though, that netplay is probably screwing with your reaction time. Even if you're close to them distance-wise, latency's a bitch.

I updated my Touhou characters today; fixed the problems that Youmu had and gave her a few palettes, since I somehow totally forgot that part.

Updates are on the site.

After about a year of dormancy and testing, I've finally managed to prepare enough to announce that the game will be getting an update: Project LENSMAN version 1.1 will be out on December 1st, 2014. It adds a new mechanic, high jump canceling, to certain characters' moves, and has re-balanced the cast in general.

Changelogs will be going up in the next week or so for those that are interested in seeing what's new. In the meantime, have these short teaser videos.

Keep your eyes posted for changelog videos and notes.

-The no intros part is deliberate. Though I think I meant to have Youmu and Aya have a special one with each other, I'll get to that sometime.
-I'll fix that.
-I'll fix that.
-I'll have to think of something to fix that, but I'll fix it.

Thank you for the feedback.

The funny thing is that Shwa asked me to do the same re:Chiho a long time ago; I'm doing it now because I figure that not being crap at MUGEN making now means I stand a better chance of making a better one.

In all honesty, I might do a simultaneous release of Jun and Chiho together since I don't have a Touhou character to use as a switch release like I did previously (see when Yuka got released to see what I mean, I did a Touhou before her and two more after her); VG characters are a lot easier to get done because Insanius did a lot of heavy lifting on my end thanks to his rips.

Get them at http://zerosennin.trinitymugen.net.

Now for the unfun news. Komachi's still complete-ish, but I haven't been up to working on Touhou stuff. Instead I'll be working out some Variable Geo and some full game shenanigans. For the time being, I'm not going to be making any new Touhou or MB stuff; I'll probably be updating them with some new tricks I've learned recently, but not for a little while yet.

So, next up is either Jun Kubota or Chiho Masuda. Keep an eye on this thread for info.

Enjoy.

Speaking of Pokemon: Lets Suppose you were given a chance to make script for a special pokemon film for US audience (not like previous one) would you by chance bring back Porygon in full role and what will be your  thoughts on this?

I probably would, considering the epileptic part of that one episode was actually Pikachu's fault. :P

Alright, let me see if I can think a few questions up...

-Honest question:You mentioned earlier that you would like to have a steady girlfriend.  What personality traits would you envision in your "perfect" girlfriend?

-Other than Tokidensho: Angel Eyes, what are some other fighting games that you consider terrible?

-Have you attempted to create any AMVs?

-Have you ever tried to write an original work?

1) Someone patient. Someone that can see when I'm being lazy, self-destructive, or self-defeating and help rouse me back into getting things done. Someone that likes to laugh, and has a good sense of humor. Someone that has hobbies different from mine and is patient about bringing other people into them. Someone that is OK with my hobbies and my personal quirks.

Being tall is an optional requirement.

2) I honestly can't think of many from recent memory. I have a habit of avoiding what's colloquially called kusoge (bad games) .

3) I have, once. It was for an AMV contest at school. Didn't get anything though.

4) I have. Some were part of school assignments but others are more like potential backstory/main story for games that I want to make someday. They're all unfinished, though.

-Why did you swap to a Labrys avatar? I keep on thinking that you're SXVector :llama:

I like Labrys. TBH I could probably do with switching to another one but I'm not in the mood at the moment. :V

I don't want to say I had no expectations for Drive, but coming off the heels of Gaim I wasn't expecting something as..."genre-busting" isn't the right word, because there have been series that have been as dark as Gaim eventually got. I remember reading that Drive's head writer worked on Double or something, so I had a feeling that Drive was going to swing to the light side as far as mood and tone goes.

I don't mind it so far, though; all the antics are good for a laugh. In a weird way, I sort of relate to Tomari's whole lack of motivation trait, but it might be slightly overdone.

1) What's your favorite JRPG (and SRPG) of all time?
2) Who's your favorite/least favorite Megaman X's Maverick Boss?
3) What's your favorite Pokemon?
4) IYO, who's the sexiest video game dude?
5) Rooster, Donkey or Elk?

1) Favorite JRPG is probably Tales of Symphonia. It was my first Tales game and really opened my eyes up to the action RPG genre.
I'm significantly worse at SRPGs but Disgaea is pretty sweet.

2) Magma Dragoon is my favorite just because of all the blatant Akuma nonsense. Least favorite would probably be...Kuwanger. Yes. Definitely him.

3) I have a lot of favorites, haha. But really, I guess Leafeon is the big one. It's terribly cuddly even for an Eeveelution.

4) Dante (the real one, not the DmC one).

5) Roosters all the way

- If you can make any fictional animal real, what would it be, and why?
- What is your most favorite experience?
- If Square Enix can revive any one of their IPs, what IP would you like it to be, and how would you like it revived?

1) Tied to 3) above, Leafeon (Pokemon are totally fictional animals!) . It's just so cuuuuuuuute.

2) That one's a little broad. Not really sure how to approach it, but...I guess the thing that comes to mind is when I finally get a character I'm working on to really feel right.

3) I would really like a new Chrono game, I guess. My main beef with Square Enix is less that they have dead titles they won't work with and more that they're blocking me when it comes to games I'd like to play (WHERE THE HELL IS MY TERRY'S WONDERLAND 3DS)

Have you ever designed (or at least thought of) a new pokemon?

Nope. I leave that to the experts.

So I lied about getting the effects done! But gameplay-wise, she's together.

The rest of this month looks a little busy so I probably won't release Komachi for a while yet. I'll see what I can do about Aya + Youmu + updates, though. Got sidetracked by real life and a few other side projects.

Ooh, lots more questions! Fun :3

Favorite and least favorite JoJo (member of the Joestar Bloodline) in a JoJo arc and why?
Favorite and least favorite character not from the Joestar Bloodline in a JoJo arc and why?
Favorite and least favorite main antagonist of a JoJo arc and why?
Favorite JoJo arc?
Favorite (3) Persona 4 character(s) and why?
Why do you ignore hitbox feedbacks, even if the feedback has nothing to do with source accuracy and hitboxes determine what infinite priority the attack then has?
Favorite and least favorite Street Fighter character and why?
Favorite and least favorite KOF/NGBC character and why?

1) I don't really have a least favorite Jojo, there's always something about all of them that I like. My favorite is probably Jotaro, though.

2) Admittedly, I like Mariah a lot more than I probably should. Something about how she's so damn deadly when all her stand does is make magnetism happen really struck me as cool. As for least favorite...can't think of anyone, really.

3) Dio, no question. Least favorite is probably Cars because he's a double-crossing dick.

4) Stardust Crusaders, no question. It introduced me to Jojo in general and while I like the whole series, Crusaders will always mean a lot to me.

5) Chie (because she's pretty hotblooded but usually means well), Narukami (because he's usually the voice of reason and is a pretty good big brother figure for Nanako), Yukiko (I kind of identified with some of the struggle she goes through in her S. Link).

6) First off, there's still no such thing as infinite priority, please stop saying it exists. Feedback in general is not something I ignore, but it takes more than someone just saying to me "this is too x/y/z, fix it"; I need people to come at me with concrete situations where what the move does is a problem before I change it.

7) Makoto is probably the top one mostly because her moves hit so hard and animate so well. I despise Blanka, but really only in a gameplay sense; Blanka balls are annoying.

8) Leona. Part of it is the Kamen Rider references in her movelist, but the other part of it is her backstory, I guess? It's a little cliche, but the whole "trying to be a good person despite your really terrible past" thing always appealed to me. Least favorite...it used to be Ash, but after what happened in KoF 13 I really don't mind him. Maybe Saiki instead?

So Whats your favorite food and drink?

Cheesecake and cola champagne respectively.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I'd like to be running my own game studio, making the kinds of games I enjoyed playing when I was younger and that I enjoy playing now. Steady girlfriend or happily married, with a child if the engagement is secured or the marriage is doing well. Probably wouldn't be living where I'm at now; maybe in the suburbs or in the city. Making enough that my student loans are significantly less of a cloud over my head than they are now.

Oh look, it's Orochi Gill.

Normally I wait for like three posts worth of questions to build up but I've got a somewhat full day ahead of me so I'll have to do this from now.

Will you do more Pokemon themed palettes one day?

Are you the same person as that fanfic writer of the same alias?  If so, how much did you think you've improved in terms of writing?

Name one playstyle of a fighting game character you have the most difficult to get the hang of.

1) I haven't happened to stumble across any color-separated WIPs that I feel strongly enough about to bother. Whenever Jmorphman decides it's time to do a character I care about more than Rolento (like Benimaru or something), I'll consider it. It also doesn't help that my stuff almost never gets picked ;_;

2) Yes, I am, particularly if you meant the person that wrote such treasures as The King of Street Fighters (which is really bad, don't read it). Funny enough, you're the first person to mention it without me bringing it up in a conversation first.

How much have I improved? Enough that I can look back at my early stuff and pick out a good chunk of things I know the younger me wasn't thinking about when he wrote them down (things like using gratuitous Japanese words in a One Piece story, when that world is very heavily Western-influenced, using words without double-checking their meaning, writing really long sentences AND putting clauses in weird orders that confuse its meaning). Compared to a lot of the other writers on the site, most of whom are D or F grade, I was a C when I started, and now I'm probably a B since I've managed to pay better attention to the things I know I mess up on the most.

*EDIT: forgot to answer this question*
3) Yuzuriha in UNIEL, no question. An acquaintance of mine pointed out that my usual character archetype in fighting games is the character that can do "bulldog rushdown" very effectively; Yuzu doesn't play anything like that, so I had to condition myself to be more patient about blocking when I get into a bad situation and to be more aggressive from mid-range as opposed to close range. I haven't perfected it yet but the change in play style has forced me to (try to) be more observant in a lot of other fighting games I play.

- If you were commissioned to write a fanfiction about Five Nights at Freddy's, what would happen in it?
- Is Lord English the yaoiest motherfucker to ever live?
- The original Famicom model is sexy as FUCK. True or True?
- When you played Kingdom Hearts 1 (I KNOW YOU DID), did you pick the sword, the shield, or the wand?
- Who was the last real woman you fapped to? NAME NAMES.

1) I don't take commissions. Also I haven't played Five Nights at Freddy's (though I've seen it played).

2) He's pretty yaoi, BUT not as yaoi as the dudes from Mirage of Blaze.

3) Red and white is a pretty sexy color combo. Can't beat it!

4) No need for freaky caps, of course I played it. I picked the sword because I don't like to cast magic for damage. In 95% of the games I play, I go for the option that lets me beat the crap out of things/slash the crap out of things.

5) I don't fap.

- What do you do when life gets you down and you mess up Cassandra's super?
- What really got you into the competitive fighting game circuit beyond your USG sponsorship?
- Are you secretly gonna release your next fantastic hip-hop album?
- Why is Roy one of the worst lords statistically in Fire Emblem and do you plan to fix this when you run for Senator of Ohio?

jesus, four in-jokes in one post. at least Arpa paced himself

Umezono said:
nerdy fire emblem crap

you're puttin' me to sleep here, I didn't come here for NUMBERS

Anyway! Questions

1) I never messed up her super, it was mostly everything else that wasn't right with the character, as I was very graciously informed. GET IT RIGHT NERDLINGER
2) I'm hardly in the circuit, it's more that I took Blazblue: Chronophantasma as my chance to actually try to be serious about learning a game and then it kind of rolled over to UNIEL and Chaos Code.
3) Contrary to my reputation elsewhere, I do not have the lyrical stylings nor the soft-heartedness of one particular young man named after a young dragonling...thing, so that's not happening.
4) There is not enough money in the world that would even put me close to a political position anywhere. That is too much responsibility and stress.

Why is Labrys forever bottom tier even after being improved in Ultimax?

What would you change for her buffs in order to be at least mid-tier?

I didn't play P4A1 at a high enough level + didn't bother keeping up with Ultimax changes closely enough to really answer those questions. My limited expertise says that any weaknesses Labrys still has in Ultimax are likely based around issues with people having better normals than her and the low utility of her DP, but all of that is too broad for me to really give you a proper response.

Why is everything you main low tier as fuck and still gets nerfed in updates?

Bad luck, I guess. Though I think it's more a product of Team BB having really poor judgment in terms of how they balance things a different picture than I do on how to balance things more than anything else. Case in point--Rui and Celia 2 Kai were already good in Chaos Code 1.0(2?) and have yet to really get too badly nerfed. Yuzuriha is still mid-high tier in UNIEL. Cammy is still good in SF4 and Chun isn't terrible in either ST or SF4.

At this point it really doesn't matter to me. I realized that high tiers are worthless to me if I don't enjoy playing the character (*cough*Shen*TeamDLC*Azrael*), so I could really care less if my stuff gets nerfed--unless, and only unless, my character literally cannot win any more. I hit that point when loketests for BBCP2 happened, but as it turns out I jumped the gun on that so now I'm just trying to reserve judgement for the most part.

1.)All time favorite fighter?

I'm not good at naming one favorite out of all the fighters that I like to play, they all fall on a spectrum for me from "I like this a lot" to "I don't like this very much at all". I already ducked out of one "what's your favorite x" question, though, so let me try to actually answer this one.

Right now, I think Chaos Code is pretty much the top contender. It's not balanced to the degree that I would like exactly, but the design direction has avoided some of the really heavy matchup-specific things that frustrate me a little in Blazblue, and each character has a very unique style about them in terms of how they're played, especially with the option to pick and choose extra special and super moves.

;_; How can you live with yourself breaking an alpaca's heart like this?

Also if there was ever a bloody roar with online play released do you think you'd kick my ass in it?

it's because you're not kawaii enough, little man. your moe is too weak

In all honesty, whether I'd win or not is a toss-up. I haven't played Bloody Roar (2 in particular) since that Tomba stream, and back then I was even worse at fighting games, so I don't actually remember any of the tech that I might have picked up or discovered for it. However, as long as it didn't suck donkey dingoes and brought back Shina and/or Gado, I would be happy to just see a new Bloody Roar game, period.

-Why is anger the first trait that I associate you with?
-How many mugen conversions have you made and which is your favourite?
-Is trying to put Iori Yagami in a dress overly ambitious?

1) You keep assuming I'm angry instead of asking me if I'm angry? I'm not a mind reader, how am I supposed to know what I did that made you think of me a certain way? (I also blame the Internet for removing context indicators like tone of voice and etc.)

2a) How many pieces of bread have you eaten in your life? [/jojo]

More seriously, only counting the standalone characters I've made (edits too), ~50 sounds about right. Counting Project LENSMAN, ~56. Counting LENSMAN + the stuff I have not yet released, or never will release, pushes it to ~66.

2b) I don't have one. The best I can get is "favorite characters within an individual style".

3) It's weird, but if that's what you want to do, do it, I guess? :V

-If you can be a secret character in any game, what game would it be and what are the requirements to unlock you?
-Give yourself a wrestling gimmick. You are now the ________________.

1) Bloody Roar 2, Zero the Cheetah. Unlock requirements: beat the game using every character while playing kid mode. On the hardest difficulty level.

2) Robot Rioter. I throw socks with nuts and bolts at people and smack them with a wrench that I use to tighten my parts when they start to get loose.

You only listed two things. A permutation of those two things wouldn't count as its own thing.

...you win this round.

* Does it bother you that I cannot make you as a Mii because there is no pink hair and thong options?

* Have you been practicing your tomba skills?

* How many hearts have I earned on your relationship meter?

* Can I have some Angel Eyes tips?

1) No, shut up.

2) NO SHUT UP

3) -10 because you won't let old jokes die. You're already on a BAD END route for me, start the game over and try again.

4) Yeah, sure. Here are three.
-Don't play the game, it sucks.
-DON'T play the game, it sucks.
-DON'T PLAY THE GAME, IT SUCKS

- do you plan on finishing Project Langsmang?

I don't know what gave you the impression that it's not finished (it's in the completed board after all). The update I'm working on isn't anything major enough to make it LENSMAN 2.0 or anything, it just fixes bugs, adds some new move properties, and adds a high jump cancel mechanic for some characters.

Well, Tsukuyomi's tag for me didn't work and I only found out about this by randomly stopping by MFG at 2:15 AM!!

so while I'm here I'll answer questions

awww I wanted to ask you a question but Zero-Sennin works too I guess.

- Is it true that when the sun goes down and the stars come out, all that counts is here and now?
- Why are you soooooooo violent?!
- What so you think about aesthetic consistency in a character?
- Yataimura or Maharaja?
- Would you call yourself The Arschersetzer?
- What's it like to be a gigantic tool?

1) Actually, what happens is that if you can see the moon and the stars and the sun, you have to wonder if it's in your imagination.

2) I have a rare disease called smack-a-fool syndrome. It acts up when people try too hard to be funny, say something stupid, or any permutation thereof. Hence why I exercise it on you or Rednavi because it's always one of those three. [/shots fired]

3) What do I think? It's probably second of my big three considerations. First is "does this play like something sensible" and third is "how flexible is the gameplay". Or something like that, I kind of just made that up right now. Is this MUGEN-specific or not, because if it's not I can go on quite a bit.

4) Maharaja, because there's a character in Gundam with that first name and he is the father of one of the franchise's best villains.

5) Um. No. Stupid. *hits Jango* (See? Told you it was a real disease)

6) TAK3S ON3 TO KNOW ON3 >:]

-Did you ever hear from that guy who wanted to promote your game?
-Why did you drop that combo at CEO?
-If dish tries to pay for our food again how violent will you get?
-Do people who live in that part of florida pay taxes with their blood because that's the only way everyone wouldn't be homeless....fuck florida.

1) Nope! Not a word! Good thing I followed your advice and didn't give him my actual number, the scammy chump!

2) I'm bad at fighting games, I was nervous as hell, my fingers are stupid. Take your pick of one of those three.
(Also, what combo? In my mind "that combo" is synonymous with "95% of all the combos I saw you do")

3) How could I be violent at Dish? He's only a plate after all. I'd probably just firmly insist that I got it this time and not accept no for an answer.

4) Nah. Sweat, tears, and dignity. That's pretty much how we roll down here.

Youmu's turn.

@Xan: thank you for more or less saying what I was thinking, if a bit more dryly than I was planning on doing it, lol.

I probably will be slowing down some, but once I get Komachi's effects set up, I'll put out a video for her next. It's likely that Aya and Youmu will be released together with the updates for the MB and 2hu characters. Then I'll move on to my next Variable Geo character, and after them should be Komachi.
