I wanted to say thank you to everyone who replied here. I have made some progress on the air dash and shielding thanks to your advice. The blood heat I decided to leave for until I understand variables a bit better, again thank you all.

Well I am trying to get back to work on making my character but it is hard because I am about at the limits of my knowledge. I have a few questions that hopefully will help me along.

1) How do you code the melty blood style shielding?

2) How do you code an air dash

3) How do you code Heat/Blood heat mode?

I would be greatful for any help with these questions, Thank you in advance.

I am trying to figure out how to code Arcueid's Rekka ken. The move where she can do up to 3 swipes with her claws depending on how many QCF_a or QCF_b you do. I can't figure out how to code the fallow up to the first swipe. How do you give the option to go for a second swipe and a third swipe?

The thing with EFZ's parry system that doesn't seem to get translated to Mugen is that each parry after the first in a chain of parries has a greater chance of failure. Your chances of successfully doing it drops by 50% each time after the first even if you’re timing is right on. So it goes 100%, 50%, 25%, Etc; at least on the ground that is the case. In the air you can be as much of a recoil guardwhore as you want. That is not to say the computer doesn't ever abuse the recoil guard, rather they just don't do so as much.

Thank you both, those suggestions seem to have helped. I had the wrong value instead of 50.

I am having a problem with the jump attacks of my character. They keep looping, or when I change the speed of the last animation frame to - 1 ticks. It freezes in that animation when she hits the ground.

@insanitarium You really shouldn't have done this, especially not this way. If you had told people how to do this for themselves at least they would have to go to the creators site and download the game to be able to get the character so the creator isn't entirely cut out of the loop. I hope that the creator here will not stop this project because of the one person (you) who leaked their creation. It is not often we actually get to write directly to a leaker so I hope you don't mind if I take advantage of this opportunity. There are a lot of reasons to leak (trying to be a big shot, spite, stupidity, etc.) none of them good however. I will give you the benefit of the doubt that there wasn't any malice involved in your decision to do this. Just take a second to look at the responses in this thread, not too many of them are positive and the people who didn't care enough to respond odds are they don't like you much either. There really isn't any true benefit to leaking other people’s creations. I hope you learn from this.

@ KFM I was referring more to your other posts where you had implied that if stig87 had not gotten permission you were going to try and have his character removed from the board. I suppose I should have gone with the @ thing to begin with, sorry for the misunderstanding to everyone involved.

@Stig87 I like your character but the fireballs from the Energy rain super seem to hang around too long if they miss initially. It might be best if they destroyed themselves shortly after the move if they fail to hit. Also for the android blitz if it is done in the left corner 18 will actually appear behind her opponent and attack which makes it a little difficult to defend against.

QUICK OFF TOPIC QUESTION!

so wait... Can I take someone's work from this forum and modify it then release it without consent and get away with it?...

You'd get your butt in a sling with many other forums though (RS, Infinity, MugenChina, MGBR, etc) :\

Kung fu man, you are most certainly welcome to voice your disapproval of another person’s actions here. However you are not a mod here and neither am I.  I suggest you remember this and show a little more respect for this board and its rules. Again I am not a mod, just voicing my disapproval over another person’s actions.

@  stig87 I am actually excited to try this character out. 18 is one of few DBZ characters that I like. Hopefully I will have some useful feedback for you soon.

I have a small problem with this updated abyss' bubble attack in form 2. It seems like now that usually when you attack them you usually are caught in them rather than them breaking.

I am having trouble with a character I am making's Get Hit animation. When she gets hit a certain way she drops half way through the floor. I have checked a couple .sff tutorials the sprite placement and group numbers seem to be correct. Here is a picture of what the problem is.

As for an answer to the original question, I would say it was Anger, spite, trying to stick it to the leakers. It is almost funny that people think that taking their work private or canceling it punishes leakers. If leakers actually cared that much they wouldn't be leakers. I suppose there are many reasons why leakers leak. Some leak out of spite, trying to stick it to the creators. Some leak to be a big shot and feel important and I suppose some leak just because they can. However the common element is they don't care. The only ones the creators punish are their fans. Also this isn’t about characters, it is strange to say that but it isn’t. I think it is about Ego or sometimes spite. Spite has been a driving force on both sides of the Creator/Community argument. All that comes out of arguments like that is hurt feelings and bitterness. I doubt anyone’s opinions really changed. All that really happened was a bunch of people from both sides left in disgust.

If you notice his/her White Len says CPU, this may be an indication that 9 is working on a version B form of her. I am beginning to think 9 eventually is going to do all of the melty blood characters. At least I can hope can't I? If so I can't wait for the 9 version of Arcueid, though it would make a project I am working on pretty useless.

Nope, most of the drama comes from people in general.

Yeah.

And of course the "change" was not "necessary" (I mean, necessary for what?? The survival of MUGEN? lol Less drama? lol Ego boost? haha Depends on perspectives... few things are truly necessary).

I meant simple that the change was "Necessary" to bring back some sense of sanity to Mugen. I think things could have continued the way they were however I think more and more people would have continued to get fed up with the insanity of it all. So many things have been done out of pure spite by both the "Leachers" and the creators I think even the most hard core supporters of both sides were getting sick of it.

I am sorry to see there be a bunch of drama here but I am not surprised. As for the change I think it was not only good but also necessary. Mugen was supposed to be fun but people got so caught up in their own pride and taking sides between the creators and the players. That I think it stopped being fun for a lot of people. It was time to get back to the original spirit of the game of creating and sharing.
As for the chaos and drama, it will work itself out. Some people will leave in a huff after they realize all their complaining isn't going to force the mods here to change it back. The request section will become like any other request section just with less regulation eventually (though the mods will probably have to go through and delete a few nonsense threads every once in a while.)However for the vast majority of people who frequent this forum life will go on.
