Is that the SNES or the Genesis port in that SF2 pic? I'm positive Genesis was better besides sound quality but I'm awfully curious about which one was used now, just cause.

Well, that's settled then! I'm at least glad you're not denying my statement about character accusations! That would've been horrible.

For the record if everyone knew this was ridiculous it probably would've been over by now. But whatever.

Not really lol. I was emotionally charged yesterday in Froz's thread but here I'm looking at this and wondering why the fuck this is even happening.

I just think it's in bad form to fall into your own accusations of the character of others.

Byakko please stop getting incredibly emotionally charged to the point of where you get snobby with random people who tell you this is silly because quite frankly it is. This is just a piece of general advice but if you're going to tell someone else they're being passive aggressive you probably shouldn't start doing it yourself towards someone else as if it's a good idea.

For that matter go read the post history, the first mention of IRC was certainly NOT from Kame. Ctrl+F it.

I don't care what did this or who did what, I'm calling this ridiculous.

The minute someone brought up IRC logs as if it applied directly to this forum and occurred on this forum is when I literally went "this is reaching."

This is reaching.

Also where did these allegations of secret conversations come from? The only secret conversations I have are Ebil_Homer linking me to video game music
God damn it, my secret fetish has been exposed! This is a turn of misfortune for me!

Yo for real what the HELL is going on here, you people....I mean, really? It really got THIS important and THIS overblown? He literally just said "X base is flawed X base is better." Hell this argument literally SETTLED ITSELF a few posts after it started, what the hell is this now?

Wow @ this. And now it's about like, personal problems or some shit? This is the ultimate mountain out of a molehill. I don't care who dislikes who or what now, this entire thing is like, being taken way too seriously.

Honestly there's much better Pac-Man stages that could've been picked, like, shit, even Pac-Mania stages (which would probably look a lot like Lego if it was Block Town in particular).

Or hell, Pac-Man World even!

But I'm okay with what I got, I guess. They could've done Atari Pac Man or some shit LOL

I'm not debating how good or bad it is, all I said was that it's probably there for a reason. It's one of the first representations of games tied directly to media (TV Show) and it was a thing in Arcades as well.

I don't really like it much either but I understand why it's there and why they chose it. It's not a GREAT stage but they picked it because of its relevance in history. Flat Zone 2 is absolutely godawful fuck that place, but it's still there and it's important cause it essentially replicates the old G&W games which shouldn't need explaining. (Well it's Flat Zone X now but Flat Zone 2's segments and Flat Zone 2 were awful.)

If you want a trash stage that doesn't even make sense, I'm more on Pokefloats than I am on this one.

Nah, it's pretty historic as far as video games go, even for technical arcade reasons (things like parallax scrolling on an 8-bit arcade machine, pretty incredible for its time!)

IDK, it's got a rich history behind it like any other piece of Pac-Man video games from Pac-Man World 2 and prior.

Kinda wish they gave Pac-Man a costume where he wore his Pac-Land hat, though. That would've been a good way to tie it together a bit better.

I think Pac-Land has its place in history. After all, here we go:

Pac-Land and most of its design and graphical appearance was based off of what is documented as one of if not the first cartoon adaptation of a video game, the Pac-Man cartoon. Pac-Land's design, characters and overall appearance are all based on said TV show, basically a direct tie-in to it. Stuff like Pac-Man wearing the hat he did during Pac-Land's gameplay, the appearance of the ghosts, stuff like Pac-Man's cat and dog along with the inclusion of Pac-Man's baby (yes this was also a part of the TV show, I don't know either). The TV show ran for about one year on ABC I believe.

It's essentially a callback to the old Pac-Man more than it is to the quality of the actual game Pac-Land (it wasn't that great, honestly, but hey, retro stuff!) As a bonus it represents one of the first designs for Pac-Man that was actually integrated in-game as more than a single circle with a piece removed.

Just food for thought.

Posting to say the issue has been resolved privately and civilly through intense civil war and a grueling political debate about the importance of Folgers coffee, Frosted Flakes, and the crediting of the Windows Calculator application.

There should be no more discussion on the usage of my whatever as a base as it has been resolved. Back to our regularly scheduled program!

It's in the same vein as literally everyone saying Arpa is into piss. If he left for 4 years and came back from Mars that's the first thing I'd say about him ;P. It's that kind of friendship.

Don't worry Kame I'll never forget your mediocre/bad old characters either  : )

Because it's true. PotS didn't really get accurate data from the actual games, he used guesswork and for Vega in particular as it was REALLY OLD WORK it didn't turn out so great. A lot of things, particularly scissor kick and knee press nightmare, were really really floaty and were stiff. That's the main thing, and it's mostly because artmoney tables and data tables were harder to access when Vega was made. The joys of early MUGEN.

To clarify his old Vega was NOT bad but some things from it didn't age supremely well and I think those would qualify as one of them.

The post above is basically all I'd have to say on the matter.

I'd just like to point out that your scissor kick vels aren't using my updated ones (I might not have uploaded my edit's update!) if you'd like them to be more proper in terms of acceleration/decel I can dump the code and/or the update if you'd like.

Also please namedrop me =P

List of feedback on Vega, extra!

- Can't link from LP into Cr.MK, adversely Cr.LP into Cr.MK does not work anymore.
- Scissors are strangely frame safe, is this based on SF4?
- In fact, a lot of his normals have strange frame data overall. None of them are disadvantage, which rubs me weird.

I'm wagering that while that isn't a new thing in Open World games, the fact that it's part of a Zelda game is huge. If it's anything like how it sounds, it'll be a much more engaging Overworld environment along with the dungeons, which I think will be incredibly interesting.

Alright, Diddy? I can answer that.

Let's start with stage control. Diddy has a lot of that even with one banana, he can throw it at you or just leave it, although in this game it's optimal to use it as a throwing weapon to trip people and then grab them or FSmash them. Bananas are however able to be grabbed and used by Diddy's foes, and unlike in Brawl they can be destroyed and are not of transcendent priority. Plus he can only ever have one out.

Movement speed Diddy is above average on the ground and okay in the air. All of his aerials are fast and have good range, barring Dair which is a little laggy on the startup. UpAir is his most notable aerial as it has a TON of knockback and combos into itself off of D-Throw.

Ground wise he has good range on his tilts which have been buffed from Brawl.

Grab game is where he shines, D-Throw is nasty but despite most claims of D-Throw to Uair being the best, while it is a great setup, you can DI (influence your direction) out of it and force him to use either his forward or backward aerial instead.

Side-B is another great Diddy tool, can't elaborate on it too much but I know for a fact it's good, a command grab that can turn into a kick, fairly decent.

Diddy's recovery distance is good but unfortunately it happens to be free as hell to gimp, honestly.

But really he's not the best in the game, it's more ease of use that gets him used quite a bit. Sheik is honestly way better if you ask me, but she's harder to use so why bother?

It's been stated that there are no immediate plans for future balance patches for Smash 4 (although honestly, there will probably be one down the line, there's no IMMEDIATE plans but you never immediately say "my game isn't going to be balanced") but I think the first thing they'd do to Diddy is nerf Uair. IDK what else has to be changed, everything else is pretty fair.

As far as death animations go I am of the belief that Mangle's and maybe Old Bonnie's are the only real standout ones to me, besides maybe Old Chica ripping the mask off.

As far as the graphics go, this is amazing! You just need a bootlegged title for it now!
