So, do you know a general fixer for states with wrong z velocities for example?

And why WinMUGEN crashes randomly only on Win7 PCs - isn't there a fix for it?

Also: Did you read my post carefully? I mean - don't you think about a ban list? (As childish as it may sounds xD)

But I know your post answers that the theory with the errors is a true one, but it could only half of the truth.

Hey everyone,

I'm just new to the new engine of MUGEN (maybe) but I learned, that some kind of characters which are very fine on the original version of the engine can't be loaded on the newer one.

I'm not a guy beyond reality, but isn't it possible that there are banned codes or characters? (Only a guess I have ^^")

The most appearing error is the precaching error, where it says: "the character might be newer than this version of mugen!", and another error says: "No victory BG", but IDK if it's already on the newest version.

Fact is, that there are quite some kind of characters which already seemed to be incompatible to ONLY the new engine.

Another theory, why the chars are alarmed, before they're really executed I have is that Elecbyte tries to throw out every single damn random error, so they searched for much new criterias without releasing a good fix application.

In that case, with such a program which changes that possible source of an avoidable random error Elecbyte would really detach the old version of MUGEN!!! ^^

Also a very unlogical information is written in several places on the net, where people say or guess these kinds of errors are depending on the streenpack... for me ... THAT IS TOTALLY UNTRUE!!!

What they mean could be the mugen.cfg and the system.def, which determine the memory usage in loading and precaching characters ^^!

That case could also be plausible, because at least one error was defined as a precaching error.
(Then my question would be: "How can I config MUGEN 1.0 RC8 that it shows, precaches and loads about 10000 chars?)

If everyone, who wants to have an demonstration of one of the errors could
-download the character "Shin Ryu" (Link)
-write him into the select.def of a normal MUGEN 1.0 RC8 data folder
-uses this folder
-starts this normal MUGEN 1.0 RC8 "mugen.exe"
-selects this "Shin Ryu" and starts a battle with him!

Then for me a precaching error appears which tells me somehow "character might be newer than this version of MUGEN".

So please can anyone test this example character and/or tell me if it's loaded (if tested) and/or why these kinds of characters cannot be loaded via the newest engine?

That would be nice ^^!

Sorry for the very late reply.

I came across this error myself about a month or two ago, when I was attempting to use a different screenpack. Some characters would work. Others would crash Mugen.

I went back to my old screenpack, and everything was fine.

As strange as it sounds, some characters may just be incompatible with the screenpack you are using. I'm no expert, but it's the best answer I can give.

When you say "back to y old screenpack" what screen pack do mean, for there? - What screen pack are you using for?

If you use the original one, IDK if it depends on how the systen.def is changed, but for me it makes not much difference o.o?

Can you say me: How many slots are have on your screen pack?

Oh, in Deutschland die Leute sprechen alles immer so Englisch. Wir sagen zB cool statt kühl, weil es kommt aus den USA.
(Ach und die Grammatik ist auch anders als in dem Satz, den ich da oben geschrieben habe...)

Vieles in Deutschland ist aus den USA, weil die USA mit ihrer Besatzungszone Deutschland am meisten wieder aufgebaut haben.

Der Trend schwappte dann immer mehr auf Deutschland über.

"Amerika, sagen wir hier immer zu den USA, ist cool."

Die Leute hier nehmen das auch alles nicht so locker... alle sind irgendwie verkrampft und wollen "cool" sein, hat aber wenig mit der Gelassenheit und Offenheit zutun, die sie eigentlich meinen ^^!

Every character that works on Winmugen will work on Mugen 1.0, except for characters with faulty coding.

What did you mean with "faulty coding"?! - There're characters which are correct and still don't work!!!

Shin Ryu for example. ...

So, I've to ask: Is anything wrong of him?

If yes, what I really guess, I wouldn't ask for him on new versions of M.U.G.E.N. again ...

... because he's ... DAMNED!!!

There can also be abilities to damn just some kinds of coding, if they really want.

It's nothing about being free on this. - If I write a program I can totally shroud it from everythingI don't want to.

Also I can say: I don't support code XY! - It is nearly the same.

But, maybe I'm wrong... ^^

It's just a thought which has to be kept in mind.

BUT on the other site IDK about that error with a mysteriouse missing "Victory BG"... ^^"

What does the developer might mean, if it says: "Error: No Victory BG!", or: "The character might be newer than this version of Mugen", after the game crashed?

If you know the answer I would really like to know it, reguardless how ^^!

Otherwise I would really like to recommend to switch to rc8 ^^" - Also for a big project, it's better!!!

Put enemy, then it reads the enemys. It is writen in the exp.html/rtf in the docs.

I'll translate that for you:

damage = Ceil(0.013 * enemy,Const(data.life)) * root,var(39),Ceil(0.008 * enemy,Const(data.life)) * root,var(39))
Would be

damage = Rounded high(0.013 multipled by enemys Constsnt life multipled by players variable 39) , Rounded high(0.008 multipled by enemys Constsnt life multipled by players variable 39)


The thing after the bold comma is guard damage. Noticed the the one that wrote that forgot the ending parhentise.

if you know I'm always making private edits and looking for betas of good characters to compare them with the originals and the finished ones. So I wanna use some good constants against every crap overpowered enemy.

I found a code like this:

Yeah, I wanna see an editor which edits MUGEN.exe plus the cfg and def. So that you can add modes and options. Maybe a MUGEN for four human players. Or a MUGEN with the option to unlock hidden chars and Stages. Or a MUGEN where chars can be edited with fighterfactory, in the game and if a character don't load the program don't shut down, it ask if you want to delete the character, delete the file, or edit the character, if you press edit the failures are marked in the Fighter Factory. And maybe a ingame-stage-editor and a skin selection should be cool. And ... a tournament mode, maybe involving MWC in the game too. If people have the clue how, ... then it should be wonderful xD

Yeah I think the Bleach manga is better than the anime, because the anime is ... so slow, and borring, not the same as the Manga, but It's only my opinion xD
