I think adding zipper on both sides of the jacket, near the hip area, would add a nice touch. :)

Thanks, I appreciate your support. I'll definitely check out the details you've pointed out, and I'll see what I can do. Though keep in mind, the lines underneath his eyes, were supposed to replicate his special ability, known as "Dragon Force". His skin gets scaly, & his eyes form a dark layer, around them. Though this sprite wasn't completely done. :)

thanks, I'm a patient, and understanding guy. So I know that the project is important, not only to myself, but to everyone else too. I have to continue the project. Lol I'm just glad that I still have many fans full of support. :)

I really wanna get this done, and continue onto new projects. But perfection is important.

I'll most likely change a few things to better match Natsu's current outfit, not his timeskip outfit, which is what you currently see. :3

I think the position of his pupil looked better on the previous version.
It looked more like he's staring at you, now he's staring at the flames like he's ready to nom it.

Try to work on his eyes and eyebrows, I thinks that's the main issue.
I might help if you anti-alias it a bit I think.

The position of the flame is better, but it's still clashy.

I like the extreme colorshades though :)

Haven't posted in a while, so I thought I might as well throw my two cents in on this one. I've been following this project for a bit, though.

TBH, I dunno which side to take in the whole Hi-Res vs Lo-Res debate. I understand why some people would prefer the lo-res effects, but I'm honestly not sure they suit the sprite style very much. They look like something out of MvC when the sprites have a pseudo-CvS thing going on, and it clashes a bit too much, IMO. But at the same time, I don't really recall what the hi-res effects look like, so I can't say for sure if they looked any better than the lo-res ones or if it would be worth it to turn the lo-res ones hi-res.

It's ultimately up to you, however, and I'm sure the character will turn out well enough that the effects don't really matter in the long run. If enough people make a fuss, however, I'm sure a config file to choose between them would shut them up. The Z2 characters had something similar, I believe, although I haven't seen many people play with the hi-res effects on, so what do I know :P

personally, I think the character will be so interesting to play as, that most people won't mind the effects. But I'll definitely look into touching them up, or turning them hi-res. Seems like that's what most people are looking for, & that's usually what I would go with. :)

If I were to use Z2 effects, I might as well use everything else. I doubt any permission would be needed, given the fact that pots didn't permit anything released in his style. :P

I'll just stick with my own personal style, but find the medium in all of this. :)

I actually like the low-res ones, they compliment the sprites better and look less similar to PotS styled effects (not implying that they're bad).

That's actually how I've felt about it, too. I wanted something to match better with the sprites, but who knows. Everything is still subject to change.

Bunch of low-res h8ters. Low-res effects are a piece of art over the hi-res extremely overused hi-res effects concept. I feel those work for the character but dunno how well with those blend with those hitsparks (hi-res I assume?)



If anything, I'd have to change the hitsparks to better match the effects. In addition to every other blur effect, which I'm honestly not gonna do. Lol
So I'll just continue throughout the project and see how I feel about it, later. After all, this character IS for you guys to enjoy! :)

It Probably needs more shading in a few places, but this is what I got. With or without fire? :)

I agree that the Hi-res was a more stylish approach, but I was limited on effects that fit him. I might just turn these into Hi-res later. I'll see how I feel about it, as time goes on. :)

Small Update:


I decided to change ALL of his special effects, from Hi-res blur animations, to Simple Pixel animations. This doesn't include his hitsparks, or super arts effects. I decided to make this change, because I felt it blended with the characters design more naturally. In addition to my previous lack of special effects, when using Hi-res. So I hope you guys like it. Let me know what you think. I'll keep everyone posted for more! :)

I understand that people are waiting, & that it's been an extensive amount of time. However, Keep in mind that everyone involved in this project HAS to put their personal lives before anything. I only program the character. I stopped Sprite characters awhile ago, so I'm not responsible for the amount of time it takes to hand draw the animations. So just be patient.

[NOT THE FINAL PRODUCT]


Been working on the Blade Beam technique, and I've decided to make his properties identical to that of sakura from the street fighter series. :)

For those that aren't familiar with how that works:
Weak, medium, & hard button's will correspond with the speed of the attack. In addition, the attack will increase in power & hit count, upon rapidly pressing the command input button. the downside is that the attack will lose speed, & distance the stronger it gets, so just be wise about how you use it. :)

Additional Info:
The sprite animation of this attack is still under construction, haha. I've got a guy that'll assist in spriting the new attack. Basically what Tammy was saying.
