Ingrid is pretty fucking terrible, moreso in a proper Street Fighter game (She would've been alright in CFAS though) and nothing will change my opinion on that matter.
Good for you!!

what i'm saying is that people were hating on ingrid in 2004. you can't say the fighting game community has "become" this when they've been complaining about character designs they don't like for a really really long time. and it definitely predates ingrid. people are vocal about things they dislike and this is absolutely not a new thing. it's just much easier to look at thanks to social networks
Oh really? I don't remeber all that whining about her when the videos of CFAS, CFJ or SFZ 3 U  were show  I remember people saying bad things about  Capcom Fighting Jam but not specifically about ingrid. I saw all these hate for her when there were rumors about her appearing in SF X Tekken.

Most of the FGC don't really care as long as the gameplay good, it's mostly the casual players and such that get really angry at characters.  People who play Tekken serious have worse shit to worry about like unreactable mixups and fast as fuck lows and WALLS lol.

Good to know. Then, FGC  is really small  for what it seems :O

you cant really say the fighting game community has "become" this and bring up ingrid (who debuted a decade ago) as a past example of similar behavior

I think that I can bring her as example cause everytime someone says "I want  Ingrid on the next game" or talks about  her possible return  into a new game,  there is always people saying how shitty or unffiting she is for the street fighter universe and that she should never have been created,  even if most of these people never have played as her.

The problem is not her design. The problem is that the Fighting game community has become into a bounch of crying little girls that likes to complain about everything !!! (as if they were expert character designers or  brilliant game developers) Geez. Everytime I see a topic about a sequel of a well known franchise almost all the comments are negative or just seem to be sensenless complains. All this whining also happend when Rufus from SF IV was reveled, in a lesser scale also happenend with C.Viper (omg she looks like an SNK character she doesn't belong to sf) also happenned with  Ingrid,  I saw a similar trait on Facebook with the new new characters from Mortal Kombat. I don't understand why  gamers are making a big deal of one damn character, is not like they are forced to play as her and besides TEKKEN always had ridiculous characters since de first games so, waht is the problem.

Well... after watching these costumes in action, I think I know what are they suposse to be, Viper one is  a scuba diving suit, I never saw one with so many colors but well is a rasonable costume, but  I wonder how they managed to make  her hair even more disgusting thant it is already. Chun-Li one seems to be something that a preschool kid would wear, kinda reminds me of Katey from Dead Rising, just with more accesories and to much colors, but I guess is kinda cute and would look ok with alternate palettes. Rose still think is unsuitable for her but  not look so terrible after all.  And now the only one that I think is awful is Ibuki. It looks like she killed Don-chan and is using him as hat! that is not nice :o

Well, can you explain why you think that was the worst comparison so that way I won't look at you like a complete and total buffoon here.

Did you  actually played MK9 and SCV  story modes? cause it looks that the buffoon is you. Theres no point of comparison between them. As someone alredy said Soul Calibur  story was focused in two unfamiliar characters, that seems to be not so popular between gamers. Most of the story scenes were presented in sepia drawings, and there wasn't any explanation on what happened between  soul calibur iv and v and practically all the other characters aside the Alexandra brothers  were not relevant to the story.

Mortal Kombat story worked fairly well. There were some cool action scenes,  all the characters that appeared have certain relevance to the story. And thinking that  just cause  the new story is going  to be focused in Sonya and Cage  is gonna be similar to Soul Calibur V is stupid because, they are not brothers, they are already very well know and popular characters, their personalities are totally different to the Patroklos and Phyrna(Cage is very fun), and because that the story will focuse on them that doesn't mean is gonna be just about them, just mean that maybe they are the ones that are going to start it all the events that are going to happend, and that is logic since they were of the few survivors from the previous game.

So UDON designed the alts for the characters added in ultra and they were on charge of this pack? mmm.....  I think  I don't like their designs. Well there are 8 that I like a lot(ryu, the twins, Gen, Feilong, Juri, Honda, cammy) But I find most of them very ridiculous and senseless. The cody and Dictador costumes look a lot like costumes that they already have :/  I hope there will be an option to buy the costumes individually and no by  pack of characters.

Devorah makes me think DC/Injustice, Ferra/torr makes me think killer Instinct, Kotal Kahn makes me think Ogre/Tekken, Cassie is the Mel Masters of Mortal Kombat being the daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade.

I'm not saying it won't feel like Mortal Kombat but at the same time I hope they don't change the formula too much. it's like having a perfect drawing only to draw over it just to add more. Also I'm not downing the game at all it looks badass and I'll probably end up messing around with ferra/Torr. torr seems like he'd be an oni like Moloch or drahmin. I'd really like to see the full confirmed roster or get a demo on PS3/PS4 before it comes out.

The DC characters from injustice looked more like NRS creations than DC characters  and Cassie being Mel just because is related to other characters? that's a weird point of view, Mel is a male, is a around 8 to 12 years old and never has been playable, really I don't see how Cassie would be the Mel from mortal Kombat. I don't see how is bad they have influence from other successful fighting games when it comes to characters design(Still I don't know why do you feel that I donĀ“t remember a character remotely similar to Ferra/Torr in killer Instinct, and Kothan well also looks a little bit like shao kahn), to be honest since the first 3D MK I feel the characters design from the series where kinda bad, in MK9 they improved a lot and it seems that they are just getting better for this game

I like Ancient Ogre and Cassie, but I'm still not completely feeling the other new characters. I really hope they're integrated well into the story and not just thrown in the game for the sake of bringing in new characters. I gotta admit it though, I'm really afraid of them bringing in so many new characters to the point where it doesn't even feel like an MK game anymore. Call me irrational, but I think I have somewhat solid ground to stand on.

Yeah let's hope boon doesn't think that just cuz sub-zero and scorpion are present, it's still an mk game. Just so we clear: scorpion+subzero+tons of new characters= a completely different game with the name mortal kombat slapped on. Honestly right now to me this is a completely new game until they introduce some familiar faces other than scorps and subby.

I gotta admit when I saw the new bug lady devorah I immediately thought of Injustice(DC) and that it felt too different. It looks like they mashed up street fighter, tekken, and killer instinct and threw in Scorpion and Sub-Zero for fun.

I really don't understand this way of thinking, If you are afraid of changes and just want to play with the same characters from many years ago, what is the point of waiting for a new sequel? better keep playing the old games if you don't want cast changes. Personally I will be glad if they bring an almost totally new cast of characters just like street fighter, fatal fury and power instinct did it with their new generation titles, sure I will miss Mileena and Cage but I will not be complaining for that because NRS is adding very interesting characters this time.

Well as I said, I spent more time on the menus and loading screens, I don't remember right know which music themes  played in battle, but surely  are from soul calibur V since the stages are recycled from it. the music that played  where you are selecting something from the menus is the theme from create a soul section of soul calibur V and the loading screen theme might be new, is a kind of gregorian chant, very boring, next time I play it i will pay more attention to that but I don't expect something  relevant.

Is not worth in my opinion. You spent most of the time reading menus and in loading screens, the dificulty is really unfair, you fight  normally agains teams  of of 4  or five fighters with  just one life bar ( two if you count your second character ) if you break the opponent clothes , their lifebar regenerates. If happens that you lose with the last opponent of the team you lose also all the items gained in the previous fights at least that you use a ticket that allows you to fight again with the oponent that beat you, but the tickets you have to buy them (you just have one for free) Till now I haven't seen any trace of story maybe  because I haven't advanced very much( just get to the third quest), but even if there is story I doubt is worth  to know it, since Pyrrha appears as she looks in soul calibur V and Taki appears as young as she always looks while Mitsurugi appears in his "old man" form, so probably is just like a dream match sort of thing. If you have any of the previous games( even soull blade) you'll have more fun with them.

At least I could play the game a little, wasn't a good experience I felt that most of the time  spent watching menus and loading screens, then I got to the first fight that was a tutorial so it wasn't very fun, after that tutorial I got to a menu again but none of the options of the menu were available at the moment  except the store option so  I couldn't continue playing, really a very weird game.
