 an interesting comment, and  i agree with you in a way. but not completely.
 it is true,  it can be a cool tribute and publicity and can help to avoid these copyrights nonsenses.. We are aware of that.
but first our game is not finished at all,  so imagine if someone use your sprites and realese a finished character before you, before you even have the time to polish and finish it and without asking.. how would you feel?
 and secondly as I said maybe we have sometimes ideas for mugen.. but for the moment we have others problems with finishing the game and copyright issues.

you're also wrong on the fact we act a little like warner and co..
create 3000 3D sprites for one character take days, during your free time.
own the license for jason is just a matter of who as the money. the character is known by everybody.. we steal nothing, just represent their design in our way. You know even draw mickey is technically illegal, every avatar on a forum is "illegal" the same way.

we act as every mugen creator.. very few of them let people use theres sprites freely without asking...

 Dr HOUSE:  I can't answer you because that depends of lots of things, and i'm not the only guy.. but re-ask the day it happens  :)

hi,
I work on terrordrome.

First the project is not dead, we continue.. we want to finish Pinhead and Candyman and some stages.. Don't know about the storyline and fatalities yet because of these legal issues and the 3 important characters on the balance. It may be canceled too.

 You seem to discuss a lot about our sprites. I understand why, because if the project is canceled it seems stupid for you not to have access to the characters.
I can understand this,

I can only speak for myself here, but:

 I worked on lots of models, a few stages and made the Tall man animation/sprites.. It's a huge work, much more than editing a 2D spritsheet.. (such things I have done , so I know)  and since a few years now in my free time..  Please respect that,

nobody think of ripping Reu's dragon claw or "steal" code from a mugen creator without asking.
  Why is it different with our work? Legal issues are not a reason and Fighter maker and mugen are same concepts

 and also perhaps we have ideas and one day we can do things for mugen with this stuff or others things who knows?
I have some ideas for mugen, but if one day I see years of work ripped, why in the future would I share my work for free again?

   Think about it...

It continues without Ash for now..  but it is really disturbing and worrying for fangames, and now we see mugen (or fighter maker) projects can be charged too.
  no newz of Warner but Orion owns the rights for army of darkness ( and not evil dead  --;)
The problem is:  why this Ash and not the mugen one, or all the DC scruffy stuff owned by Warner.. just a shame.
really worrying...
