Hey dude - how much would it run to get a series of cape animations? Not a character mind you, just a cape - which means significantly less colors, and less time. All the same, Pychewing was our capes guy for pretty much the whole damn Gotham Knights deal and he's on semi-permanent hiatus. If we had a sheet of capes done to work from, that speed things up drastically for a few of our wips.

I'm thinking 40 frames at $.50 each for a total of $20. Let me know.

To fix the rain issue on Star City for 1.0, you just need to define the "y" value for the tile spacing. It should look something like this:
Code:
[BG Rain]
type = anim
actionno = 1
layerno = 1
start = 0, 0
delta = 1, 1
mask = 1
tile = 1,1
tilespacing = 100,184 <--- This value

Thanks a lot.  I'm at work now but I'll fix this and upload the patched version later. And thanks everyone else for the comments and criticism. We're also working on uploading the stuff to the main site so those of you who didn't grab it due to the registration ordeal should be able to do so soon.

You know what I find strange is that stage where it is raining and the rain cuts off in the middle part of the screen?  Then, starts again at the bottom?  It just looks strange.  I didn't like that stage too much anyways, and deleted, but everything else is really nice.

I coded that, and keep hearing this, and that stage works just fine on my mugen. Are you guys using 1.0? Because I don't and that may have something to do with it. Again, if anyone knows a code fix for that, I'd love to patch it... it's a cool stage, and finally gave Z's Green Arrow a home.

Don't you use those same "stolen" sprites to edit and create your own?

- Seriously? People still use this argument in the community? "We all steal from Capcom so we might as well steal from each other!"
You guys must've went running for the chance to rip apart Reu's stuff the second he was in the ground, huh? Cannibals, much...?

-Well....you're here. Guess we can give you feedback here.

- "I can't be bothered to go through ten minutes of registration for what may or may not be a worthwhile character!" isn't exactly quality feedback. Again, thanks to those of you who did.

Look, our game has nearly 50,000 views on youtube, and countless more across various blogs and newswires. We're better known than fucking Skullgirls. If you think that's not worth your time, then I'm sorry you're not a fighting game fan. Clearly, half your forum is in it for the lolicon Touhou characters, so maybe it's just a difference of taste. TL;DR - We don't have to impress none of you motherfuckers.

Cybaster - thanks for the criticism. We wish our stuff was as good as Loganir's, but we have a long way to go. Dude was a legend. We're learning.

Some of us had to register here just to be able to let you guys and gals know about our event, lol.

I guess if it's not the umpteenth version of the same old upres'd CvS2 rehashes our community loves so so much, then it's not worth anyone's trouble? Whelp, your call.

We'll drop a note when we fix our site's frontpage with proper download links. Our webmaster is away on IRL stuff.

Thanks to those of you who have shown interest and provided criticism. Some of the best coders in the community hang out here, so we were really hoping to get some feedback along those lines.

He's using a picture of me, goofing off in college, from about 4 years ago. He either got that off an old thread on Scruffy (only place I participated in post-your-pic bullshit) or... my old myspace? I don't even fucking know.

That's a current picture of me, with my girlfriend - poke fun, whatever. Yes, it's from facebook. I don't have time to fucking vogue for you idiots.

We're trying to make a Batman game. If mugen already had one, we might not - but mugen doesn't. So we're filling the void.

Alucard's Batman contained sprites of our own private work on, well, Batman. Whether he got them from someone else unknowingly, took them himself, or created them... "nobody" knows. He's changed his story a few times.

You know what, man? Keep them. Seriously.

Here's some of the shit that was taken, and some we're working on to update:

This is our Batman:

Head reference sheet - scratch work:

Old sheet being updated with the scratched capework and smart palette - some stuff found it's way into Alucard's, some of this is new:

Here's some new stuff on Deathstroke:

Current-ish work on Robin:

We're just trying to make a Batman game. Sorry if we've caused any offense, drama or jealousy. Stop appropriating our name, and especially my image - and leave it the fuck alone.

Children.

Seth posted what he did not to 'go against his team' - but to help them save face. They were endorsing, front page, the release of a character that he himself knew contained stolen or otherwise lifted material.

I'm sorry if I missed something, but I learned from Scruffy themselves that stealing is mugen's biggest no-no. We lost Gotham Knights to it, lost Symbiote Spidey to it, and almost lost Ghost Rider to it. It'd be a tad hypocritical of them to say 'Yeah, we needed a Batman though, it's cool this time.' Seth realized this, and posted what he did. How, exactly, is that acting against his team's best interests?

Alucard, pal of mine... listen up:

You just try to make more excuses and defend them, actually someone told me when they knew of my release. They in desperate way offered their sprites to scruffydragon and one apology but were not accepted and created all this about theft just for envy.

We saw your Batman in the April Fool's teaser video. We weren't threatened, nor impressed. We were a bit miffed at the passing similarity, but it wasn't anything to start up about.

We were later approached separately by certain members of SD who informed us that YOU were being a drama queen and threatening to pull your Batman from Scruffyversary. We were asked if we might polish ours off to fill the void if need be, and those negotiations began. That's from where the apology sprung - because I had old, old, old bad blood with one of SD, and that's frankly very much not your business. Anyway, later you apparently made good with the person you had drama with - who I'll be kind not to name - and we were told that our assistance wouldn't be needed. Que sera, sera.

When your character actually dropped, we went into a bit of an uproar back in our little corner. It turned out that we hadn't been paranoid, and that much of the spriting within was at some point derived from our work. Seth thought that it might reflect poorly on Scruffy since they'd trusted you... so here we are.

You're free to deny it, we're not asking for anything of you. Nobody called for your head on a pike, nobody asked you to quit. We didn't send hate mail, post about it ourselves, or DDoS your site. Even if we were to act the peanut gallery, everyone loves your character and nobody would care. So we're not going to bother. The only one inviting drama is you.

Although I will offer one bit of advice... When you storm off and go 'OH MY GOD I'M QUITTING FOREVER!' you're not supposed to continue posting for days afterwards. Kinda dampens the whole 'martyr for noble theft' effect.

I've said my peace. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a set of basics to remake for Bruce. Oddly, ours just don't look original anymore. Have a happy little life, friend.

 Board: M.U.G.E.N Discussion

Hey. Someone posted this at our forum, and I'd like to clear a few things up.

- We didn't "incite drama." We were upset at the content of Alucard's Batman, and were discussing what to do. Seth Zankuten, a friend of our team and a few of us more personally, suggested we show him what was so similar... when we did, he looked through our materials (he's coding our Batman) and Alucard's .sff. He then became livid at his team condoning theft, and posted what he did - taking down the topic, and leading to the present fallout.

- The image that was posted in the thread isn't the content we believe was stolen. The image posted in the thread is a collage of private posts at a secure forum, with images that have never been on photobucket, in a beta floating around, or anywhere BUT our private webspace. This was to show that not only did the Batman contain things that we had finished, with minor alterations, but even some things we [hadn't] that had been somehow stolen from our webspace.

- The actual content within the character that is either edited directly from ours or referenced over ours, tops out close to 50% of his SFF. His stance, upwards jump, blocks, almost all basics, most of his specials, a few of his intros, even his gethits.

- This isn't a matter of base similarity. We had animations we made from unorthodox and unguessable bases - things rotoscoped over MOTW Kain, SF3 Ryu and SFA Guy, among others. There were also a number of completely scratched elements taken. The most glaring of which is his cape, which can be directly overlapped with ours, frame for frame. Thing is - our capes were 100% scratched.

- We didn't compile a huge list of similarities, because - I'm going to re-iterate - we didn't want to make a big public affair out of this. There's an entirely different drama angle, and a very long story I could be fuming over... and it's not a story I want to tell. Nobody needs to know. The people involved know that we got jerked around. Seth insisted we take action, and it was the right move on his part.

- We're not the nicest people in mugen, nor are we it's most prodigious workers. Those who argue 'Well you should've completed it instead of letting it sit around' might be interested in knowing that he's about 80% completed. We were finishing off a few basics, those scratched capes (scratching things takes a looooooooong time) and then he would've been set for code. With Alucard releasing a version of the character using 50% of our sprites through a higher profile team, our later release would've been labeled the copy, and a year's work by us completely invalidated. This isn't about being the credit police.

- Alucard - I'm sorry you're hanging it up over this. That was never our intention, and I might honestly believe you had been told the sprites were 'clean' or made by members of SD. In that case, your beef isn't with us, or the community - it's with whoever lied to you and gave you a completely stolen spritepack with the instructions 'go to town.' You did a great job with him, and you would've even without the stolen resources. I'm upset we won't get to see where you could've gone in the future.

- In regards to "Why can't the teams get along?", I can tell you all that we were supposed to be working on something with Scruffy, for Scruffyversary... and this botched that all up, politically. Our guys are working hard PR-wise to bury the hatchet with various teams - I would know given that I'm kind of a loudmouth asshole myself.

This though... it's beyond drama. If they had leaked a beta of ours, or stolen materials from a leaked beta, that would be one thing. To have stolen materials that were our personal work files, from private webspace... that's nearly criminal. I don't care who says otherwise; it is.

We're not the enemy for taking offense from it, nor did we tell Alucard to quit, or personally attack him. You guys want to be mad at someone for inciting drama, figure out who stole from us and lied to him. It would vindicate Alucard, and of course we'd absolutely love to know ourselves.

Peace.
