I don't know, it doesn't always happen. When the first char made is really well done, and the sprites are a pretty specific style, it's not a guarrentee that 'shitty coders' will try their hand at them. Not to bring Z2 chars into it again, but I was kind of expecting a lot of coders to rip the .sff's and have their way with the sprites, coding them in their personal style. Though as of yet, this hasn't happened yet.
Re: video games you would like to see as Live action movies
I am getting Iced some cool things, actually the two greatest presents for him ever, after not getting him since I met him, he'd have had them already if one of the item's pre-order didn't keep getting delayed (it was expected for early november, they now said they prolly won't have it until januari).
It's a great thing, ink, actually that's how I always wanted to work, making sprites and then working with a coder to make the char come to life together. And not just have any asshole have their way with all those sprites that have a lot of hard work (and time, oh dear how many hours/weeks/months) put into it, hehe. Yeah man definitely concider doing a closed coder kind of deal, it's really sweet and you see your animations come to life ingame step by step and you can do quality control yourself!
Hehe alright thanks, here he is once more with the fixes to the feet by supervegeta, and then I polished a few more things, as well as added a dark(est) shade to his lit skin parts. Also I recolored the unlit parts of his skin and gi (to be a bit more desaturated. in SF5 his gi seems really dirty. Give that thing a wash, Ryu, damnit).
I never really stated it but ofcourse he is supposed to be lit from the viewer's left (HIS right side).
Thanks for the right hand fix, Snakebyte, I took that with me, and messed with his right foot (and tiny tiny fix to his face): His gi COULD use another shade (which would become the second lightest) but in all honestly I think he's fine without it.
Greetings Him of Whom I Hear the Best of Things! A couple of questions for you:
-blondes or brunettes (or other)? -if not for your lost of interest, what could have kept you active in the Mugens back in the day (like if Capcom had made CvS3)? -fighting game graphics: 2D (pixels) or 3D (polygons)?
Not a question but a proposition: You mentioned you think my stuff is awesome (thank you) and Piccolo is one of your fav animu chars. As such, you shall now be our technical advisor on Piccolo Z2 when we start on him. Yes. It's perfect.
The Raid: Redemption 3rd Time I've watched it. Still intense, action-packed and well-excecuted. A real high mark in martial arts movie history! 8/10
The Raid 2: Berandal I watched part 1 the day before, so my expectations were high. Overall I was a bit disappointed. First and foremost; the movie is way too damn long (martial arts/action movies shouldn't be 2,5 hours long! Trivia tells me the first cut of this movie was even 3,5 hours long! WTF!). Not just long but it felt dragged out in a lot of parts, some characters (like 'hammer girl' and 'baseball guy') could easily be cut and the movie would have turned out better for it. Same with the Koso character, played by Yayan Ruhian who also played Mad Dog in the first movie. That was just confusing; they should have added a huge scar on his throat and have it be Mad Dog instead of another character (though it's unlikely someone could survive the damages done to his character even in movie land). His character could have been cut from the movie and it wouldn't have mattered much (and it would have removed that beforementioned confusion and shorten the running time). The fight scenes also failed to impress at times (the big exception being the final 1-on-1 fight in the kitchen which was simply amazing). I think this movie is overrated and part 1 is vastly superior. 6/10
Re: video games you would like to see as Live action movies
Streets of Rage- directed by Isaac Florentine. starring Scott Adkins as Alex, Michael Jai White as Adam and Samantha Jo as Blaze. Basically have them rebuild a huge chunk of a city in a studio lot and have the kick the crap out of a zillion henchman. Needs banter, long shots for the fightscenes and an R rating (and none of that CGI blood squirt squid garbage)
Metal Slug - by uuuh I dunno. Basically, the new Mad Max Fury Road trailer but with tanks, lots of guns and some well-excecuted physical comedy thrown in.
Resident Evil - well why not have someone talented direct it for a change. Sadly Paul W.S. Anderson's movies are making pretty good profits and somehow he gets to keep making more of them. The only good thing I can see in the next one is that it's called 'The Final Chapter' (though that didn't mean shit for the Friday The 13th series, which's part 4 had the same subtitle). If any property of anything ever needed a 'gritty reboot', it's this stinking junkheap of series of movies!
Megaman - by Pixar. That's right, a CGI movie, not live-action, because some things just shouldn't be made in live-action! If it's a hit (and why the heck shouldn't it be), they can follow-up with Megaman 2 and sister company could develop Megaman X for all the gritty fans, they could have both series running side-by-side like was the case with the games.
Street Fighter: The World Warrior- by Joey Ansah & co Oh wait we are already getting that, very very good, moving on!
ps. I think we should continue like this, adding at least 2 or 3 lines of text/explanation and what/why/who, instead of spewing out any random game name that comes to your busy mind
Really, this shit, still? How very 'next gen'. This is why I think 3d games are ugly. Also, that looks pretty ugly to me. I have yet to be impressed. Like, you gotta do a LOT better.
If they want better sales then perhaps they should concider lowering the damn prices on their games. I mean, Super Mario Kart 7 for instance, that's like a 5 year old game, and it's still in stores going for full retail price. Same with pretty much all other made-by-Nintendo games. I would buy the shit out of New Super Mario Bros 2 and the like if they weren't still full price.
Pretty cool man, 15 years is quite an accomplishment, glad I could help you a bit . Since I did the sprites, I'll make this an entry in the 'special characters' section on my own Mugen website too, if that's alright with you.
An update on my Turtle wall! What, didn't I ever told you I was a TMNT fan? It's more or less finished though, but there's still place for one more row at the top. If/when I get my hands on 4 Nickelodeon villains (or all 4 of the 1987 Turtles re-issues) I'll move up the framed comics and place them there. Those comics are from my childhood btw, I didn't buy them (but I bought the frames). I got a bunch more of those comics but I think these four had the most striking covers.
I got Classics Cartoon Mikey (center row, 2nd from the left) from a different store then the other three, and for some reason the hole in his card (where he's hung from) is different. Well it doesn't bother me enough to spend another 20 euros on a new one. I'm kind of done spending money on this.
The sword can be replaced by the Ninja Stealth Bike which is now just sitting there at the bottom, but the sword looks too dope there, almost like an underline to the whole set.
The two girl pictures don't really belong but they look pretty nice nonetheless (trivia bonus: the girl on the right is Kerri Hoskins, who played Sonya Blade in the first Mortal Kombat game). Plus, I can always replace them with more Turtle images if I wanted to remove my last shred of (hu)man-ity.
