I had mixed feelings about MUGEN: both enjoyable and frustrated.
Enjoyable (2004-09 to 2010-07 as a user): browsing and leeching new releases, news reporting, requesting, fulfilling requests, MUGEN gossip....etc.
Frustrated (2010-08 to 2011-09 as a contributor): releasing->get bashing->defending->get more bashing->more defending->getting warned->getting
cold->releasing->get bashing->.....looping
During my defending actions, I caused many messy troubles. Here I sincerely apologize for all of my messy actions.
When a hobby begins to bring more frustration than joy, it is time to make a switch.
Before MUGEN, I was frequenting at the game emulation and 0dayz scenes (since 2000). I had my enjoyable moments like my MUGEN case.
I was also contributing different kinds of things to the scenes especially providing "made-in-China" stuff and doing Chinese translation works.
When I was contributing for these scenes, I didn't feel any frustration because I didn't have to worry about feedbacks and comments and nobody was
bashing me like hell. The worst cases were just something like "please re-upload your ISOs/ROMs", "your FTP/irc fserver is down", "your movies Chinese
subtitles have errors", "your 0dayz news is duplicated", "we are still waiting for your made-in-China pirated/unlicensed cart",....etc. Easy fixes, easy
pass, easy going, no frustration at all.
Since my MUGNE'ing, I have had missed a lot of the scenes updates and old scenes friends. There are tons of new gamez and appz and moviez that I don't
have time to finish because I have been spending most of my time on MUGEN. Now I will switch my hobby back to the game emulation and 0dayz scenes where
I can find more joy than frustration.
Local-wise, I have just deleted all my MUGEN stuff (44.8 GB) from my PC and destroyed my 12 MUGEN data CDs/DVDs, to make sure no MUGEN trace left.
Online-wise,
My MUGEN username Werewood and e-mail account werewood@ymail.com, I didn't use them outside MUGEN.
I will not touch them anymore and let them wither.
My MUGEN YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/user/werewood, I didn't use them outside MUGEN too.
I will also not touch it anymore and let it wither.
And I will not marketing/promote/introduce MUGEN to anyone else anymore.
I planned to shut down my MUGEN web page, http://page.freett.com/werewood/mugen.html, but later on I decided to keep it there until it dies.
It is because I think no matter how shitty and bad my MUGEN stuff is, I believe there are some people who might be interested in my MUGEN stuff.
For those who want to edit/update/improve my MUGEN stuff, just go ahead. Now all my MUGEN stuff is open-source.
Before I go, I would like to thank a number of people:
- Elecbyte, for making a dream fighting game engine that has given me years of fun.
- Nunor, for creating the most popular MUGEN online community and allowing me be an early news reporter.
- Electrocaid, for fulfilling many of my MUGEN requests.
- GM, my MUGEN #1 Idol, who doesn't know me but inspired me of the importance of bosses mugenization
- Cybaster, my MUGEN #2 Idol, who inspired me with: "Pleasing other people is nice, but when creating for Mugen, you're supposed to please yourself
first."
- Violin Ken aka Corntortillas, for improving my SF4 Golden Seth.
- Mr. I aka Orbinaut, for improving and updating my SF4 Juri Han.
- Toshio and Velvet-san, for sending me many words of comfort.
- BoyBoyz, for his intensive caring of my KOFXIII Saiki beta, yo BoyBoyz now it is your responsibility to finish our Saiki beta!
Wait for Insanius' sprites too!
- necro_rk, for making palettes for my Bai-Hu and Wyler
- Fido, I went for SF mugenization partly because of you! Most importantly we speak the same language.
- Recycler, for his SF4/SSF4AE game hacking help. Most importantly we speak the same language.
- Boomer, for letting me try his OMK Battler. Most importantly we speak the same language.
- sakuraka, for being my newest MUGEN friend (well my last MUGEN friend too) Most importantly we speak the same language.
- Basara-kun and Iced, for nominating my MUGEN stuff for COTM
- Rajaa, for teaching me a few mental lessons. Yes, "Newbies"/"MUGEN Pros"/"MLM" are my excuses for my laziness.
A lazy person can never be a good MUGEN contributor. Only hard-working persons like you can mugenize such a flawless stylish Arcueid!
- Any other people who have been giving me healthy feedbacks and accepting my slow improvement.
Thank you for your time.
Good luck in your MUGEN life!

that for all MUGEN releases by everybody especially newbies the stuff must need to be perfect and no updating and fixing are allowed when posting release topics for the first time?"
