I didn't know UBW was going to be split cour. Here I was enjoying a double episode thinking It'd be back in two weeks until that announcement at the end. it's not like I'm there isn't a ton of good shit waiting next season, but I'm going to be missing the many faces of Tohsaka.

I finished watching Angel Beats and thought it was great. I feel bad for not getting around to it sooner because it feels like a while has passed since I'v seen something so satisfying from beginning to end. The concept of the afterlife and how the lingering regrets of all the characters affected themselves. In atmosphere and in themes explored, the show reminds  me of Sunday Without God , not directly of course.

As for the lingering shows this season
Kokkurii-san: i'm behind and not neccessarily in the mood to continue.maybe i'll finish it ...some day
Psycho-Pass 2: i lost steam about 2/3rds of the way through. It's just dumb as hell and I can't bring my self to finishing it. Considering that Tow is also scripting Gits:Arise, it makes me less inclined to watch it after seeing this mess. This is why I hate key staff and studio changes,  never seen one that's turned out for the better. i'm already not looking forward to Yahari ore season 2
Encouragement of Climb 2:  i like watching this, but it's hard to get into the mood of watching a bunch of young girls mountaineering. When I do though, it's a pretty good pick me up.
Sehagirls: Anyone remember this. no one?eh. This was just ok, nothing to really write home about. The best arcs were probably the Virtua Fighter arc and the Space Channel 5 arc. aFter that, it was mostly flat  to mediocre in the humor department. i'm a bit disappointed that they never did a Crazy Taxi or Shenmue parody ,but then it'd be a little heavy on the dreamcast side. It felt like a watered down version of gdgd Fairies without all the ad lib bits ( which were usually the best parts!!!). At least they had some sort of a budget to make it not look like dung and the opening/ending were nice earworms.

My head hurt after reading through about a quarter of the way through. I can't find my waifu, so I guess she's /a/ approved? Is that a good thing? Also if the worst thing they can say about Hildegard is that she's used goods then long live the intergalactic milf empress.

Yuki Yuna ending was satisfying enough ,but I think they danced around a bunch of issues that surfaced without explicitly stating how they were resolved. I any case it's still one of the better shows this season.

Caught up with Rage of Bahamut and I can see what all the fuss is about. With likable cast, great action direction, high production values it deserves it.

It's very hard for me to pick just one, but my current favorite for this year is still Silver Spoon at this point. I loved it for being a competent and well meaning coming of age drama that delved into the many themes and issues that it's characters faced with a great degree of compassion and delicacy, all of which made it enjoyable to watch week to week while still having an impact.

That might change depending on how Shirobako ends because I feel like it does a similar thing except in the adult realm and instead of an agricultural campus as a setting they use the anime industry. I was worried that the large cast of characters would bog down the pacing and leave the majority of them with little to no depth at all, yet it seems that hardly ended up being a problem. I loved the fact that they celebrate anime production from both it's highs and lows while riffing on the production side of everything in a very "inside baseball" way. One thing I enjoy the most is how much the show provides a cliff-notes style overview of what each team role does for the duration production and how much their input matters. It's  nice to have an idea of what a producer etc. does instead of the abstract and probably incorrect idea of what they do in my head.

There's also Yuki Yuna, but we'll see about soon enough.

That was my first thought honestly. It never really occured to me that the scene could be interpreted that way until the internet exploded about it. Nothing seemed all that overt.

That was one hell of a finale! The direction of the action scenes was easily one of the best in the series. That mecha battle was so good. All of the loose ends between the characters were handled as satisfactory as I could've imagined it to, no complaints here. Season 4 definitely tops season 3 as my favorite in the entire Korra saga, I can tell that they learned from their missteps in the first two. The entire series wasn't as consistent as LAB ,but I feel like they managed to end it on a high note.

Different games and participants each episode, with the Bartender and the Woman being the only recurring characters.

Or you could have some loudmouth hotblood that died in a weird way and now has to survive a new game every episode and wants to get the Woman to go out with him.

Hopefully the former.

Speaking of which...

Spoiler: translated text (click to see content)
the former it is. It looks like there are going to be more recurring characters than just the bartender and the woman though.

Yes, in image 1 his thumb should be to pointed inwards towards the screen and his hand should be flipped horizontally in the 2nd.

Watched Death Billiards out of curiosity since it's the foundation that Death Parade is going to be built upon. I enjoyed it but 'm confused as to how they'll extend that simple premise to a season long show. I'm getting some serious Mononoke vibes from it, and that can't be a bad thing at all.

I'm also checking out the Animator Expo shorts which I have been thoroughly enjoying. It's to bad that none of them have a chance in hell of being expanded upon because some of them (like Carnage and Dragon Dentist) looked they could make a good starting point for a series I'd watch. The comparison videos of YAS Key frames versus the final animations where pretty informative as well. His work really was incredibly detailed, and to think they throw that stuff away when they're done with production. Obviously my favorite was ME!ME!ME! because it's just a big pile of lewd ,over enthusiastic insanity. It sure looked like they could've had a lot of fun making it.

It looked like they locked Hatsune Miku up in a library. I expected the wrap up to be sloppy considering there was only one episode, but it doesn't make up for all that buildup towards the finale.. A disappointing ending to a solid show.

Ninja Slayer From Animation trailer. I like how eye searing the color paltte is. I'm not a fan of the character designs though. I prefer the grimy looking ones from the novel covers.

I love how all of the excitement in the room deflated when SE announced Final Fantasy 7 for PS4... and then revealed it was just a port of the PC version.

And $40 million dollars in production costs , which they haven't secured yet. Sounds like Gainax is reenacting Royal Space Force's plot in real life. They might as well go big because there isn't much to lose with their current trajectory.

Yuki Yuna is chugging along nicely. The big reveal was handled as satisfyingly depressing as I imagined it could be and all reactions were as morbid as they come.

Chaika AB EP 9 had many shocking truths this time. none were completely unexpected ,but the scale to which everything escalated was pretty intense. I'm a bit concerned that they'll have only one episode to wrap this show up in a tidy fashion that isn't the usual "read the light novel for the true ending" ending. Also all of the character's reaction to Black Chaika's "eating" scene was priceless.
