Requesting sound rips from Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing (Transformed)

December 22, 2014, 06:15:56 pm View in topic context

I've been curious about this for some time now, but does anybody know of anyone that has ripped the character voice clips from these games yet? I've been looking all over the place to see if anyone has, but I haven't found anything. I'm trying to get the actual voices used for Alex Kidd in those games so I can finally give my version of the character his original voice samples and not just a "Worms: World Party" substitute. :P

I'd appreciate any help I can get on this.

A question about KoopaKoot's Bulleta's flame effects...

I recall KoopaKoot's Bulleta having some incredibly well-edited flame effects for her "Cheer & Fire" special/ES moves that (I believe) were made by Hoshi. I was wondering, what technique/method was used to get that effect? I figured I'd ask because I'm highly interested in trying something similar using Shinnosuke Kagami's various flame effects (especially with his phoenix SDM).

Thanks in advance for any info on this.

Hello everyone! I'm back again to show some new progress on my first original micro-character: "Deathstrike" (not to be confused with Marvel's "Lady Deathstrike").

Here are some screenshots:
Standing MK -

Standing FK (Launcher) -

Ignite -

Serpent's Wave -

Trailblazer -

Crimson Lance -

Optical Camouflage -

Jason Quinones (a.k.a. - "Deathstrike") was the first character I had ever done for M.U.G.E.N, and was originally going to be the main character for my own RPG game titled: "Project: Strike Force". His standard special abilities include mid/advanced "fire" manipulation and above-average agility, strength, and reflexes. While wearing his "Deathstrike" armor, these abilities are greatly enhanced, and he also gains new abilities, including regeneration and optical camouflage.

Like my other characters, he has a pseudo-MvC2 play style with additional features. Currently, he's only really missing a couple of things (Recovery Rolling, Throws, one Hyper Art, one Ultimate Art, additional frames of animation for some of his current attacks, and other misc touch-ups). I'm hoping to have him released around Christmas. :D

OrochiWeapon2000's Custom Bead Sprites

Hello ladies and gentleman! Last time I posted anything here, I was working on custom 8-bit sprites. Now, I've taken those same 8-bit sprites a step further, and have begun using melting beads to recreate my 8-bit works in a brand new way (at least for me). ;D After creating a number of different sprites, I showed it to a friend of mine who suggested that I try my hand at selling them. As it turns out, there have actually been a number of people interested in buying them. I've even started a Facebook page to see just how well they might do if I were to spread the word. :)

Which brings me to the reason I'm posting this:

https://www.facebook.com/BeadEmUpSprites

I'm curious to know just how many people might be interested in purchasing some custom bead work. If anyone is interested, feel free to check out the page for more details. I've made a number of new sprites just for this hobby, including Dr.Doom, Captain Commando, Blackheart, and Strider Hiryu.

Here's an example of some of the sprites I've got on the page:

Ryu is the only one in the group that isn't 100% custom. Just additional colors added to a SNK Vs. Capcom MotM sprite. He just happened to be one of the first 10 sprites I attempted when I first started this "beading" hobby.

Glad you like it. I'm working on a full recolor + slight edit of the existing Gameboy sprites. I'm not sure if I'll add anything more than that yet, but we'll see. :D

Sure! I don't mind helping you out. :) Would you happen to have any pictures that I could use to base the sprites off of?

More contrast between the colors would definitely make your sprites stand out more. At least with the original ones anyway.

I would recommend editing Firebrand himself just a little. Maybe removing the white outline (which kind of looks like an aura) from his wings and outer body? Though Firebrand is strong, but I don't believe he should have an aura around him unless he's in "Luminous Body" mode (UMvC3). That one alteration would help the sprites appear as more of an actual "edit" than a recolor of the original Gameboy sprites. Plus to be honest, the"aura" doesn't look all that good. :P

I do think the color choices for Firebrand and Scrooge McDuck were pretty good though.

For the other sprites, I'm not familiar with them or their origin. But since they were made with more colors than a typical 8-Bit sprite would have, adding more contrast to the colors that already exist might help greatly improve their overall appearance.

8-Bit Hybrid (Beta)

Hybrid (Beta):

A winged variation of the Symbiothian Hybrid creatures from my game "Project: Strike Force". The process used to create this variant involved the removal of the creature's parasitic gem. Once ripped from the forehead from a living Symbiothian (killing it in the process), the gem was then transplanted into the chest of a living female host by the same twisted scientist that created the "Alpha" version of the Hybrid creature.

I personally enjoy M.U.G.E.N both as a player and a creator. I'd say more so as a creator though.

For me, I've always wanted to make a game of my own. And since I love fighting games, it's pretty awesome to know that I could do just that with M.U.G.E.N. I know it's not always going to be easy, and I know that it's going to be (and has been) a really time consuming endeavor, but being able to see your work come to life is just awesome. Not to mention the even greater feeling you get when you take your own character, and kick another character's ass with them. That's always pretty fun too. :)

I've enjoyed M.U.G.E.N as a player since the old days of Mugen4Ever, and even today I still take some of my favorite characters (including a couple of my own creations) through a playthrough of Arcade Mode or on a Survival run on occasion. And as a creator, I still enjoy M.U.G.E.N just as much (if not more) because when I see quality works, it shows me just how much a person can really do with the engine if/when they try. For me, just playing M.U.G.E.N can sometimes be a source of inspiration when you have little to none.

Here's a fairly simple recolor of Firebrand from "Gargoyle's Quest 2" for the Gameboy. I decided to do one this after LordSinistro showed me his own recolor of the standing sprite (which also came out very nice), so props go to him for giving me the urge to try doing the same. :)

I'm actually considering it to a certain extent. Maybe making something like an 8-Bit "Marvel Vs. Capcom 4" or something. :P I still want to see a Tyrant character, and since I've already got some sprites made (not much, but it's something), I might actually get to see one someday. :D Even if it's just 8-Bit. :P

Thanks for the compliment! And thanks again, because it was your project that got me wanting to make these 8-Bit sprites in the first place. :) I showed these sprites to a few friends of mine, and they're telling me I should try making an 8-Bit micro version of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. They actually think I could pull it off if I tried. :D

I haven't been counting the pink BG in the character's color counts. It's just the color of the canvas I'm using and not intended to be directly associated with the character itself. As you mentioned, there have been a couple of sprites where I've had to go higher than the 8 color limit by one or two colors. But for those sprites, I felt like there would be little choice other than to add an additional color or two if I wanted to complete the sprite to a satisfactory result at all.

8-Bit themed stages will often have a solid black and solid white in it, which can be found in most of my character's color schemes. This would help to keep the overall color count relatively low. Though the combined colors of 2 different characters and the background at the same time will almost assuredly be more than 8 colors, I've been trying to sprite each character in as few colors as I can, attempting to keep them at or less than 8 colors whenever possible.

Storm:

This was a pretty challenging sprite to do because of the details like her cape, bracelets, and somewhat baggy (in the arms) outfit. Overall, I really enjoyed attempting this one. :)

I actually did it already, but it shows no real effort at all. All I did was place 1 pixel of each color of the gem on different parts of the fist. It works, but it just looked lazy overall. :P

It actually wasn't possible to implement the gems onto the character's sprite itself due to color restraints. That's why I just decided to go with making them separate from the Infinity Gauntlet. It was easy as hell after that. :P

Psylocke:

One of my best friends from back home asked me if I could try my hand at making Psylocke and Storm.

One down. One more to go. :D

Then I'll take a stab at Bilstein. I'm not exactly familiar with the character, but I'll do a little searching around and see if I can take a screen capture or two of him standing next to another character like Hayato to kind of gauge how tall I should make him. His artwork suggests that he's pretty tall.
