No it wouldn't. What would help would be you READING the information at the top of select.def which is really really useful and documents how to add a character.
calm down man i'm new to this stuff, just be patient and people'll get the hang of stuff in their own time. It's your responsibility as someone who knows all the right stuff to help the newbies, not get mad at them

i did all five steps. The list of characters looked waaay different though. it said a load of weird stuff, usually starting with kfm

had a problem. whenever i try to open them with 7zip it says 'incorrect command line'. i'm pathetic what should i do?

i don't know if i've got the right version. it's cxonfusing 
i followed the steps DNZRX768 gave me but i couldn't figure out how to put it on. sorry i know i'm hopeless

I am a noob and have had no past experience with mugen. could someone please tell me how i put characters into mugen and some locations where i can find street fighter characters to put in it. ty guys

Hi guys. i'm completely new to mugen and am not too sure how to import files into mugen to allow me to use them. Can someone please message me to tell me how. As i said I am new to mugen but i am familiar with sprites and animating them, I have even recently tried to make a flash fighting game based on street fighter sprite sheets but to no avail (which shows how good i am at coding ). I have however managed to do a sprite edit all on my own 
. Sadly I am not too sure how to post it into a message, can someone please help me with that too? Sorry I know I'm hopeless. Nice to meet you all
