1- Code more characters and make them better and better by improving your coding skills. As you gain more experience, your characters will become better.
2- However, "better" also means you need to first have a good sense of what an accurate SF or KOF is, which means that you first need to be experienced with fighting games in general, in order to see in a few seconds if a character plays good and faithful to a particular game or not.
3- Study the game from which the character comes from. There are various tools (ArtMoney being the most important one) in order to extract accurate data (vels, hitpauses, damage, hitboxes, etc.) from games. Accurate Mugen characters weren't created by just guessing values, but by coding the real values into the character, which were extracted with Artmoney in the first place.

1 and 2 go hand in hand. One can't really go without the other if you want your chars to "feel like fighting game characters". Point 3 comes in when you want to create a really accurate character.

Mugen is a hobby, it's supposed to be fun, and you're supposed to do it for yourself.
If it's not fun anymore, might as well stop or take a break until it becomes fun again.

He probably means that this WIP will be useful to chuchoryu as he'll be able to use the sprites to sprite over them, or maybe some code. Anyway, that's totally off-topic.

Can't wait for Mr.I to progress with Seth. All his SF4 chars are incredible, so no doubt this one will be too ! :)

Now, go learn some Tatsu/Margatroid_RC coding and give us parallax and 3D effect to the walls in the background too ! >:)

You should really find a better way to rip/clean your sprites, because the green outlines are really visible here.
The flames also don't seem to have any transparency. They should be ripped separately and coded as an explod/helper.

Just tested Axel :
- Forward Jump sprites are very misaligned.
- Missing sounds when running, jumping, landing, etc.
- P2's custom state during f+Z throw looks pretty bad. Try to base it on KFM to launch P2 properly.
- Is it normal that the roll doesn't make you pass on the other side of P2 ?
- qcb+K causes debug flood.
- qcb+C on a cornered opponent can be followed by multiple juggles with s.LK for example, leading to massive damage.
- Air Whip can be performed several times in the row, so Axel ends up flying to P2 lol
- It doesn't look nice when Axel comes down to the ground after Dragon Wing. He comes back too fast and unnaturally.
- All Hypers give back power to Axel (you need to use getpower=0,0 in the hitdef).
- Typo in the readme for Grenade, it's Y+B, not A+B+C.
- Car bombardment FX really clashes with the rest of his effects. So does the katana hyper FX which you took from GGX (but it's not as bad, since it's not transparent).

Overall, the sprites are pretty good, and the use of old sounds brings back memories. Animations are fine and Axel's moves are there.
However, the gameplay lacks some polishing for now, as many moves have some visual problems due to bad physics.
This has potential ! :)

Can't wait to play with him or against him. We'll see if he's as much of a bitch as Warner's version (even though the AI kept performing the same combos). ^_^
