Bison has had his time, pretty much. Someone completely fresh would  best, I think; preferably with just as much personality. Seth was meh since he just copied a few moves and has a rather bland appearance.

A 360 pad should be fine. It's the most hassle free controller to use on PC since it's integrated into most games perfectly. I'm not sure about the xbone controller, but it should work just as well.

As for using a DS3... I tried once with the MotionJoy drivers, but that shit was really dodgy. The DS4 works just fine, wired, I hear, but I've never tried it myself.

Being tired of the peasantry that is the DS4's dpad (for fighting games anyway) I decided to snag this baby.

It works really well, and the build quality is even better than the DS3 IMO. Needless to say, I'm quite pleased. Now I can finally give this game a go. I think I'll grab another too, just in case.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

This game is definitely one of the best RPGs I've played in a long time. There are huge environments to explore, a sweet crafting system, likable characters, incredible sound design, and of course it's not bad to look at either.

As with most BioWare games, the overarching plot is pretty meh. Not bad, just not very remarkable; though there are some good moments in there. You do get to see the ramifications of the Dark Ritual, however, which I'm still unclear as to whether that's a bad thing or not. Probably is, but the game is just vague enough to make you wonder. What always stands out though is the characters that you embark on your journeys with. Vivienne, Iron Bull, Sera, and of course Varric are my favourites. Even rough and tough Cassandra has some really good moments too.

Gameplay-wise, if you're looking for tactical combat, it's there, somewhat, but for the most part you can pretty much brute force your way through. I can only think of a handful of encounters where I had to genuinely use my noggin (bloody cheating Red Templars bringing giants with them). This is on normal of course. Maybe if I stepped it up a bit that would change.

As for my dislikes? There doesn't seem to be enough plot IMO. I'd be fine if they reduced the size of some of the larger areas and gave us more plot, and a few more HUBs to explore. There are also a few sound and graphical glitches that don't ruin the experience, but they can definitely be distracting at times.

All in all, it's an incredible game, and I can't wait for a follow up to that post credits scene. Hopefully it's DLC so I don't have to wait 3 years to see how it plays out. Now if you'll excuse me, I still have 8 dragons to kill.

9/10

Yeah, and if you think Origins is huge, Inquisition will keep you busy for a VERY long time. I beat DAO in about 40 hours, and I'm pushing 90 on DAI. I'm at the final quest now, but there's still lots of stuff to do post end game.

Just create a Japanese PSN account. You should be able to use the DLC with your native account after it's been redeemed. I have the JP Limited Edition sitting around, and plan to do the same this weekend. The controller it comes with is really shitty BTW. I can't believe that it was made by Sanwa.

I'm still hoping for Miguel. I've started learning Dragonov, but I'm still quite terrible with him.

I think keyboard is an interesting option for fighters.  Movement seems like it would be worse but I've heard links are easier on it.

The only thing that suffers on a keyboard is charge supers like Guile's Flash Explosion. Everything else comes out much faster and more accurately. For me anyway.

EDIT: I really hope Hit Box makes a PS4 version soon. I'd love to give it a shot, but I'm done investing that kind of money into last gen.

'Cause Sony paid for it, I'd imagine.

Yeah, it seems like they're co-funding it. There was a tweet from Ono about a year or so ago where he said he couldn't secure a budget for SFV. It seems they stepped in to help.

I just hope some fightpads come out for the PS4 before it launches because the DS4 just isn't built for these kind of games IMO.
This is new to me.  Is the DS4 that difficult to adjust in fighters due to the d-pad being clunky or something? Just wondering here since I've been playing on DS3 for most fighters.

It's a tad stiff, and that makes diagonals a little tricky to pull off. I almost pulled my hair out trying to execute Sol's instant kill on the boss last night. Simply would not come out reliably. I've heard others mention similar complaints as well.

Edit: ^^ what about parring? Just because something new is introduced it doesn't mean it'll be a series staple.

If I'm not mistaken, I think I heard somewhere that they wanted to put more effort behind single player experiences going forward. Things like World Tour Mode and Dramatic battle are what I loved the most about SFA3 back in the day. I'd love to see an evolution of these or something new entirely.

As far as gameplay changes go, yeah, a faster pace would be nice. New moves for old character would also be cool too. I'd like air guarding as well, but I'm not sure how many of you are up for that.

I'm really liking the new art style because, generally speaking, SF4's roid infused models looked terrible IMO. Here Ryu is still ripped but not excessively bulky. I just hope some fightpads come out for the PS4 before it launches because the DS4 just isn't built for these kind of games IMO.

My Inquisitor is such a handsome fellow. I couldn't find him a decent haircut though, so I went bald. Still looks great, however.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

I am LOVING this game so far. Aside from eating dinner and taking a shower, playing this game is all I did from 6pm - 12am. I thought I was passed playing video games all day, but I guess I was wrong! :lol

The play space is massive, and there is so much to do. Some of it is busy work, yes, but it's busy work with a purpose. A Blacksmith may need iron to make weapons for your army, which increases your military strength, for instance. It's also worth noting that the iron can be gathered while you're running around exploring and establishing camps in the area.

Combat is fun but the tac cam gets hung up on the environment quite a bit, making it inconvenient to use at times. This pretty much means that unless a battle is extremely difficult, I don't think I'll be using it. I'll just pause and issue commands as I did from time to time in DAO and 2. I think this should be less of an issue if you play with kb/m on PC though.

The game is gorgeous BTW, and the sound design is incredible.

If you like WRPGs, get this game.

I caught him mid-blink, but here's my Inquisitor.

I didn't play many PC games back then, but Beneath a Steel Sky is definitely my favourite. It was incredibly well detailed for the time, and was pretty hilarious as well. I keep hearing murmurs of a sequel coming out, but I'm not holding my breath.

I used to drink both red bull and soda back in the day. I dropped 10lbs pretty soon after giving up soda and I gave up on red bull when it made my heart beat so hard it would cause my cellphone, which was resting on my chest, to jump  to the rhythm. That shit is terrible for you.

These days I mostly drink water, but I'll have orange juice with my dinner from time to time.
