@TRUEMicah - It's zipped with only files, no folders.

Aha, finally. It was the space between god ryu. Initially, I used colon with a space in zip file name. Then semicolons with no space. So, the end result is 6 characters in one zip file for a third of the memory. It looks like this:

godryu.zip;ryu.def
godryu.zip;normalryu.def
godryu.zip;evilryu.def
godryu.zip;masterryu.def
godryu.zip;undeadaryu.def
godryu.zip;ultimaryu.def

Thanks to TRUEMicah and tungslashor for your help.

*Note: I take no claim for the creation of characters mentioned above, with the exception of undeadryu and ultimaryu. Move sets for said characters where replaced with those of my own creation.

Okay, multiple character.def files will not run from the same zip file. I have tried everything imaginable and nothing seems to work.

@TRUEMicah: My intent was to find a way to 'compress' all the characters with several variations and a lot of the same files (ryu has 6 that I know of so far) into one zipped file for a more compact mugen. With all the ryu files separated, they total up to roughly 50.5mb. With them in the same folder, unzipped, and placing only adding on of the files that are exact duplicates, they total around 24.5mb. By zipping them it totals right at 14.7mb for all 6 characters. Cuts it by almost half each time.

Well, I will have to place them in the same file and leave it unzipped for 24.5mb. You have to admit that it would be a pretty cool feature, especially with the "the smaller, the better" trend that is going on these days. Thanks for the replies.

Zipping multiple character.def files?

I am sorry if this has been asked before (search brought up 100+ of possible matches). My question is this: is it possible to zip a character that has multiple character.def files that will make it function properly?

Example: god ryu has 4 def files: ryu; normalryu; evilryu; and masterryu.

Do I have to put them in seperate files or can I leave them in the same zipped file and put this in the character slots:
god ryu.zip/ryu.def
god ryu.zip/normalryu.def
god ryu.zip/evilryu.def
god ryu.zip/masterryu.def
