Today's update was the character overview for Luigi, and while the gameplay video's the same as it ever was, the blog post reveals that he now uses the Poltergust for his throws.  Which is awesome!  People have been wanting him to use some Luigi's Mansion tech in Smash forever, and making it his throw is the perfect way to do it without having to complete retool his moveset.  I can't wait to see how it functions.

yup. alot of these characters are spriteswaps (that are poorly done btw) of existing characters that barely have any connection to eachother.

also from what i've seen, the animations are not good at all for each character, it doesn't seem like anything creative nor are they keyframed well enough to function well at all.

on top of that most of these models are just models from different marvel games that have extremely clashing art styles with one another, such as marvel heroes omega, marvel contest of champions, etc

overall, this doesn't look good at all and comes off as a bootleg marvel game rather than something that feels like something i'd actually want to see



young! this is a beginning, alpha, so you will not even see key frames, well done, niiguem said it's a final project. You are very dear, this whole project has only 3 months

That Mai is offline cause she was a beta, I know that much.  If you want her that badly it would be better to wait until she is finished.

You don't have to. Also, like you said, the is a custom char, there are no Artmoney tables for him. I advice getting your own "rhythm" for mapping clsns. While using commercial games as guidance. I personally map my clsns based on a blend from KoF and some of the later Capcom fighters. I like the simplicity and structure that SNK does with their hitboxes. They're straight to the point and map them very efficiently. Though at times they give too much priority to attacks imo. That's where the Capcom influence comes in for me. Though I feel like Capcom does do really odd and excessive maps at time. Finding a middle ground between the two works really well for me.

What you have there for the stance is definitely a vast improvement. Not really sure if you need that bottom 3rd box though for his feet. Pulling the body box down to ground level would suffice imo. Though what's there isn't bad. At any rate, keep at it. Over time, you'll find your own way.
Yeah, initially I just pulled the body box to the ground, but I was experimenting with the way capcom did the boxes. But I figure it might be more useful to do a box for his feet when he's doing an attack frame that I want to make more easily punishable or something. So I may just remove the third box now.

As for artmoney, I was referring to using artmoney to get the velocities and such from SFA. Of course I wouldn't copy it verbatim but I wanted to get a general feel for timing in the game without guessing!

I remember a friend of mine used to fuck around and spriteswap the idle animation of KFM with random unconverted character sprites to fuck with those collectors haha.

Hmm, I remember when I was making an original screenpack, to be more specific while I was creating the lifebars, I had a similar problem. I've made everything calculated, position, size, everything, and when I started coding it for the game, the elements were also 1 pixel off. Fortunately, my screenpack was hires and changing the position 1 pixel solved the problem (should not be a problem in the first place because, as I said, everything was drawn perfectly calculated where it should be).

Keep in mind that one of the rules is that neither combatant is informed about their opponent before the fight begins, so Ultron won't have any awareness of Sigma's existence, for whatever that's worth.

The whole character trading thing dates back to old Mugen days. It's an elitist attitude that remains among "collectors" who want to flaunt "rare" characters. Honestly, pretty much all these so called rare characters are shoddily made anyway and honestly, you can make your own haphazardly made rare character anyway.

Sigma is also the virus. And remember how Sigma made X purposely kill Sigma just to spread the Sigma Virus? What if Sigma, in a last ditch effort, makes Ultron kill Sigma, just to spread the Sigma Virus on Ultron and turning him into a Maverick. That way, at least it would be a draw, because Sigma is destroyed, but Sigma's "essence", the Sigma Virus, is inside Ultron, manipulating him to Sigma's advantage and essentially turning him into one of his henchmen, if not even a new Sigma body.
Ultron is a constantly evolving, super-advanced AI that has assimilated the most advanced tech and knowledge from not only the Marvel universe's Earth (whose tech is in many respects superior to Mega Man's), but also a shit ton of extremely advanced alien civilizations. I really can't imagine the Sigma virus being able to overcome the defenses of almost any of the various incarnations of Ultron. Maybe the very earliest ones, shortly after his creation?

But ultimately this comes back to what I said earlier:
I guess it's theoretically possible for Sigma to use a downed Ultron drone to hack into the Ultron conciousness and extract the relevant data on the molecular tech, but if he's able to overpower all of Ultron's defenses like that, and gain access to all his systems and shit, surely he could just turn off Ultron's whole conciousness? And then that invites the debate of who could hack into who, which doesn't seem like an answerable (or interesting) question.
this discussion isn't really a path that leads anywhere; regular old "who would win in a fight" conversations, there's usually something that can be compared sensibly. And the relative cyber security strengths of two fictional megalomaniacal robots ain't one of them.

Since when did mugen characters become trading cards? lol i know it was done awhile back, i just didn't think it was still a thing.
