Man, it is really sad news, I enjoyed lots of the movies he was in, I did never met the guy but this feels personal.RIP funnyman, hope wherever you went you find the peace you were looking for.
I've been social networking all day, and this has been the main topic of conversation on Facebook and Tumblr. But it's honorable to see even the Mugen community taking time to grieve and respect him for all the laughter and childhood memories he gave us. RIP.
We're a community, so it's only natural. That being said, this is such a downer. "Oh no" was the only thing to come from me.
My friend told me about this earlier, and all I could say was "What!?" Well, there goes another big part of my childhood. I still love a lot of his movies today.RIP Robin.
Regardless of good they were, do people who commit suicide still have a chance to go to heaven? Because one of the movies he starred (What Dreams May Come) had a theme of "you kill yourself, you go to hell" So far, the evidence points to suicide, so that just makes everything more depressing. This will vary depending on your religious view and I'm not trying to offend anyone.Still, we've lost another good comedian and a really nice guy.

Because one of the movies he starred (What Dreams May Come) had a theme of "you kill yourself, you go to hell" No he's not going to hell. Everybody knows the only true way to go to hell is by voluntarily selling your soul to the devil. Robin fell victim to part of the natural order, whether suicide serves as some kind of function for the species or it's some kind of glitch in our programming, it's something we do. It's not evil, just sad and unfortunate. But if you really wanna think about it, heaven and hell are just mental destinations you reach as a result of your thoughts and behaviors. So he was already in hell. His perception was so tuned away from any sense of comfort and ease, that in his mind, no other option was real.
This really sucks. This is one of those celebrity deaths that actually affects me. He was a large part of my childhood and to hear that a man like that was so depressed is upsetting. He did so much to get us to laugh. He will be missed terribly
Damn I heard the new yesterday at Twitter but didn't want to believe it, it's a fucking shame that this sir has passed away and meanwhile some other assholes are still living (won't gonna say names) a terrible lost indeed, gonna remember him as almost everybody for all his awesome works and all those amazing memories and times that he gave us, a terrible and irreplaceable lost, R.I.P

Dead Poets Society, Hook, Mrs. Doubtfire, Bicentenary man, Insomnia, Jumanji, Patch Adams, Popeye, Aladdin (Genie's voice), One Hour Photo... Damn, I enjoyed every of his movies, not just in the ones with funny actings, the serious ones are very notable too. I knew this last night in local news and I still can't believe about this, this is so sad...Rest in piece, Mr. Williams *I stand up over the table of my office*

the man was more entertaining than any cartoon you could ever watch. The man who could be anyone at any time and make it hilarious. His passing resonates throughout the multiple generations he entertained. He WILL be missed by all of us.
I don't think any other comedian could fill his shoes. I can't really think of any who would come close. He truly was the King of the Comedians. He was at least in my opinion.
http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Investigators-Robin-Williams-hanged-himself-5683229.phpSuicide my ass....Sounds like murder to me..
I do recall hearing that Williams struggled with bouts of depression. Personally speaking, at it's worst moments, it will make you do things that you wouldn't think of in a more relaxed state of mind. Unfortunate really.
Im still remaining skeptical.. He absolutely adored his daughter and his wife.. I seriously doubt hed just kill himself out of the blue like that...
Edward Elric said, August 12, 2014, 10:09:48 pmIm still remaining skeptical.. He absolutely adored his daughter and his wife.. I seriously doubt hed just kill himself out of the blue like that...That's not how depression works.People with depression aren't always sad 24/7. It DOES come out of the blue. And when it does, it hits you like a freight train. Even if you love your friends and family, in your mind you're thinking "maybe they would be better off if I just wasn't here slowing them down."So while it's a completely irrational act, when you're in the moment, it seems like the best choice.
i think most people knew robin williams from his movie roles but they didn't know he was a fucking great standup comic
I shed a tear when I heard about this. Jumanji is one of my fave childhood movies. RIP. It's really sad that things turned out this way for him. My condolences to his family.
Edward Elric said, August 12, 2014, 10:09:48 pmIm still remaining skeptical.. He absolutely adored his daughter and his wife.. I seriously doubt hed just kill himself out of the blue like that...Somebody put clothes on a full grown 63 year-old man, took his belt off of him, and killed him with it. Right. It doesn't matter how he died. What matters is that he was a legendary entertainer who will be greatly missed.
Suddenly I remember that it was one of his videos that got me interested in Amnesty International (this isn't the specific one I saw, but it's still pretty good).
Poor old Robin Williams....I just made my journal I did yesterday: http://wlanreturns.deviantart.com/journal/R-I-P-Robin-Williams-475118893

It's an illness that doesn't just go away no matter how perfect your life is.
both, one usually leads to another.anyone diagnosed with depression should be kept away from those things as most as possible, not that healthy persons should be over indulging in some of that sweet sweet cocaine either.
walt said, August 13, 2014, 04:25:39 pmI thought he was battling addictions (cocaine / alcohol)Yeah he was but he's been undergoing rehab and all that. The depression did not go away at all. It's painful that despite his problems he still gets time to make other people's lives better. It's really not fair at all.
And ofc, people with any underlying mental problems like that shouldnt be getting into addictive stuff. They tend to just become more destructive. He probably relapsed and it led into the suicide.edit:Apparently two twitter "trolls" were sending Zelda Williams pictures of a photoshopped dead body repeatedly claiming it was her dad. they were banned from twitter while complaining that it was just sarcastic and funny for the lulz. Seen some people discussing if internet anonimity needs to be over for good over it.Remember there is no bad situation that shitheads cant make worse.
Idiots have posted despicable shit like that for years. Morally corrupt as it may be, don't see how this in particular would change anything.
Thankfully our good friend David Hayter has actually provided a really good solution to that problem!https://twitter.com/DavidBHayter/status/499630086320947203For the record I totally agree that doing this to his daughter is abhorrent.
People were doing that? Why? What for? I just don't understand how people can think.RIP Robin Williams and thank you for the great laughs.
People do it ebcause they can. Not everybodys profoundy affected by this mans death. Not everyone is gonna be nice, empathetic or sympathetic. Some people are just the way they are and do what they want. Its not something you can understand. Its human nature.

MJ Fox also deals with this, in an interview he said that he takes quite a few pills to keep himself cool to be able to take care of himself on a daily basis, but then this interview was a few years back, dont know how far or how worst his case is now, yes you are slowly dying but i just wished he hadnt giving up yet...
Fox's issue has been known for a while (end of the 90's), he had to quit acting in the middle of Spin City because it was getting out of control, but it looks like he's relatively stable lately, he's doing this "the Michael J Fox Show" series. ... About a guy with Parkinson's who goes back to work after a while. Parkinson's isn't really a death sentence (not that it's a walk in the park), it does take a while to slowly eat you, but in Williams' case, even though it seems it was "at an early stage" it probably piled up with the depression for a killer cocktail on his mental. It's really shitty and it pretty much tells you what the rest of your life is going to be. Depression wouldn't fail to pick up on that.
