unless I have a hi-res animation, I don't think so.

Why ? because shao khan sprites are super ugly (low resolution) compared to this hi-res stage. I'm not willing to decrease the graphic beauty just to put some mortal kombat low res animation.

maybe if someone rips an anim from mortal kombat 9 on ps3 or something...

I don't play in HD but in HR (i play in a windowed mugen, not fullscreen, and the window is 640x480) HOWEVER I ALWAYS INCREASE THE DIMENSIONS BY 1200x790 ONLY FOR SCREENSHOTS AND VIDEO.

I am not sure what do you want me to send you ? The screenshot or the original image of the stage ?

here is a normal 640 x 480 screenshot :

Does that look nice enough for you ?  ;D ;D
Never mind, I found it.

@ Jeanbureau - I wonder how come you didnt use this image instead http://i51.tinypic.com/30mu00h.jpg

Here is my MK9 W.I.P since DA_MAVERIK is making the deadpool stage i said i wanted to do something else so i found goro's Lair im about 60% done. I really want to have goro's head follow the characters while they move left to right or vice-versa but i dont know how to do that.

I think the answer is obvious - This image (that i saw as well before) simply looks like shit, plus the resolution is much inferior. This image wideness is 1280 pixel - The image I use is about 3500 ... The stage is wider than what you see in my screenshots. My screen is just not wide enough lol.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Dunno what stage you're working on but it really looks awesome man, I'm glad you found your own stage to contribute to this project.
I am curious about the image you are using in your stage since I thought there wasn't much more artwork to work on.
Good stuff man. Really looking forward to see all of your work guys.  :D

---
To have goro's head following the characters you have to use something I also need to learn... it's called 3D stage coding. It's exactly the code you need to achieve the effect you talked about.
DA_MAVERIK perfectly knows about 3D codes obviously since he produces 3D materials.
All his stages are using 3D codes.
You also need of course, to have the animation (all the sprites) of Goro's head moving. I guess you will have to draw a little bit or something I dunno. maybe you alreay have a moving head  :P

hey, interessant topic! Is a full game or something?
I would like to contribute too. Are you guys making 640x480 stages or bigger?

I know the guy who did this image and I will code it too.

I've done some MK HR stages too, you can check them at my sig or at my channel: youtube.com/douglasbaldan

Currently, I'm making a stage for the MKBR project, which is called The Pit (but have nothing in common with the original pit), and they have some GREAT edtis (like the Dead Pool). Plus I am making some original MK themed stagest too.

Hi

Thank you for your desire to contribute. The full explanation of the project is here - please read carefully before continuing:
http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=137169.0

I have to say the original idea was not to make legit mortal combat stages because I actually hate the graphic style of genuine mortal combat stage.

The project was to animate and work on beautiful artwork from mortal kombat 9 and create awesome looking stages from that for MK fans but with a very DIFFERENT GRAPHIC STYLE.

Now,
Everybody is working on a stage at the moment except for "The Pool" - DA_Maverik is most probably working on a full 3D version so the artwork is still available to work on so far.

If you are still interested then you are welcome to join.
Now that being said, I am gonna be honest with you, I have called for the best stage creators for this project so I sort of have a minimum of expectations (that means rather high standards).
It's of course a way to improve yourself on the way, but if you need help, ask for help because I don't mind how many people are working on a stage, or how they do it, the only thing I hope is that the end result will be great looking in order not to waste the artworks.

I don't want to sound like an asshole at all by starting to talk like "hey we have high standards bicth !" BUT I believe the more we are demanding, the happier the mugen community  will be when we will release the stages.

send me a Private Message if you still want to contribute -

A video showcase: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kh46Ag8uR8s

On another note....

Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

The stage is looking awesome but one thing im not feeling is the fire thats coming up out of the ground i think that should be removed but thats just me.

I suppose we will give a quick instruction note for Noobs to remove it if they feel the same.
