Do 2.5D games count as 2D? :S

They look more 3D to me than 2D.

It's probably the gameplay they're talking about, not the graphics.

Seriously? >_<

I guess I should have been more specific.  --;

Edit:
Is this accurate?  What happened to South American and Asian markets?

Well, South America and the rest of Asia is in "rest of the world".
That's the website I took my values from.

As you see, the BlazBlue franchise is pretty much the only one that sold well. KOF13 is pretty bad as it is in terms of sales (which is a shame).

0.56 millions if you add the xbox 360 sales. so it did pretty decently, too abd we don't have any data on profits to ahve any idea if .56 is good or bad for snkp.

  • No meaning to me, just an empty box.
I wonder how much of their income is from their pachinko machines sales since they do so much of them.

whores, drugs, pachinko games, you know, the usual; it also seems like their staff is pretty small, as in they had one guy in charge of all the ps2 ports programming wise.

2.5D still = 2D because they play on a 2d plane.  If you meant sprite based games you should have specified in your question.  I don't think the visuals have too much of an impact in the game sales but it does seem that only niche developers (such as SNKP and Arc System Works) have been sticking to sprite based games.

Tekken is the best selling fg franchise (though I find it a bit hard to believe), so...
Why? It was the most well known fighting game series after the SF series went into hibernation in the late 90's.
