GMSpectre:  I've been messing around with two of those recently.
Fists of Fire:  I can check and see if what I found's usable.  Last I checked, I could hide the lifebars and sorta hide the BG.  You'd need Artmoney for color mods though.

WWF Wrestlemana: The Arcade Game:  I figured out how to hide almost everything and recolor the players/black background.  The problem is.........I've had no luck converting any of it into MAME cheats.  Also, on top of having to apply an offset to get the table to work, you have to find the color addresses every time you want to recolor them (64 for 1 player).  If you know how to use Artmoney, I can give you my table.

Blood Warrior: I'll look into it.

Gladiacloud:  I'll look into it.  I haven't had any luck with Martial Masters though.  I can remove the BG, but it's very unreliable with other characters/stages.  I can recolor the characters, but only with Artmoney.

if you know about programming it's very easy for most of these games to get into the for loop that draws the sprite tiles then add artificial limits to them so only the characters/bg are drawn.

I tried Artmoney before, but it was a bit confusing and overwhelming at times.  I could give it another attempt though so the tables may be useful.

After thinking about it, all I really would need is the background removal mods for what I need.

in terms of fists of fire, what would be really interesting is the possibility of a music disabler or sound test

for blood warrior, the newer builds of mame have volume sliders so you can isolate the noises (how these were recorded i believe), but i suppose also separating voice/sound clips would be nice too

and once again thanks for your hard work, not many people with your skill would take on games like this and i'm totally grateful you're willing to do so

GMSpectre:   Yeah, it's a pain to use at first.  It doesn't help that a couple of the default options can make it more frustrating to use.
I Added Jackie Chan in Fists of Fire.  What I found to hide the BG ended up not working, but I was able to find something that messes with the stage zoom.  I'll have to come back to it at some point for dealing with the text at the top of the screen and sound/music ripping.  Blood Warrior may take longer though.  The game has a tendency to crash the emulator on me.

【RTC】MelvanaInChains:  Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure how MAME handles sounds/music yet, and I'm kinda second guessing how reliable the RAM search is because of WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game, (found a timer mod in Artmoney, verified I found it using MAME's RAM search, but it doesn't work.  I have a cheat file that has a working timer mod, but the address it has isn't even listed in the RAM search).

As for Astra Superstars: Wasn't able to find something to hide the *lifebars yet, but I made cheats that can recolor the characters and the BG (tested it on Satan Volte's stage, turns out it works on almost all the others).  Considering messing around with the character color mods (because of how they handle the alternate color selection, it's possible to give a character 4 custom outfit colors.).  Haven't gotten around to looking for the other stuff yet.

*Unless you count a bunch of addresses that could remove the names.....tile by tile. D:

Hmm.....Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game's still missing some stuff, but I've got something for The Eye of Typhoon (3DO version) that's been sitting around for almost a year.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/9noa7e

What's going in in the screenshot:
The lifebars/score/timer/scrolls are recolored to 0000, hiding them (0001 is black).
The transparent border to Powell is recolored 7C1F.
The brightness to the BG has been lowered to the point where it's all black.  I recall it kinda being possible to recolor the BG, but being far more trouble than it was worth.
Some minor rescaling to the BG was done, because the edges have that afterimage thing that happens in MUGEN when you have a BG with nothing in it.
The stage modifier is set to Sauri's stage (some stages have animated BG elements that ignore the brightness mod).

ooh 3d0 tables? interesting i'll have to look into that (and a friend was interested in making natasha so)

regarding the jackie chan table, for the most part everything seems to be working fine but i can't seem to get the 'jump to start of match' code to work, as in the cheat  in question doesn't seem to be actually selectable, is there something i'm missing?

D:  No, you're right.  I made a last second change and forgot changing it that way doesn't work.  Uploaded a new version.  Also, fixed the notes, because it's not F2 (not for me anyways).

This might be a little odd for me to request this but since this will benefit with good lookin' stage parts. Any chance can you make a Cheat for Tengai? Specifically one that would allow me to freeze the backgrounds and whatnot so i can rip the sprites out of there?

I'll add some more to it, depending on what is needed, but that's a start.
Everything below "Hide Something 36" isn't mine, BTW.  You should be able to disable the scrolling and reposition the BG layers (which repositions where you are in the stage, BTW).  Also, there's a stage mod.  Also, this is for the world version.

Also, I think I may post an Artmoney Table for Astra Superstars for removing the lifebars.  I found some stuff outside the RAM search range that does it on the fly.  Animated things will keep flickering though, so you may end up either having to constantly pause the emulator or crop out whatever won't stay hidden.

Edit: Swapped that out with another one.

I've had a lot of experience back in the day with sprite ripping (for example, using a screen capture program for the PC version of MK1 and figuring out what pallette values were for the character), and although Artmoney may take a bit for me to get used to.  I could get used to using it as I use more of the program.

Also, for what it's worth, I did a quick check with Jackie Chan codes you posted and it actually looks possible to get the sprites cleanly without changing the background color, since the sprites don't seem to use 0,0,0.  Admittedly, I just did this for Mysterious Lion, but it's really good.

Too bad about Blood Warrior though.  Those sprites were the ones I really wanted to get, since it had a lot of the stuff in a campy live action game that I love.

Ok, you should be able to get some stuff from Blood Warrior now.  What I found for the frame and state mods aren't all that useful, unless you know how to use Artmoney.  You can probably use the P1/P2 sprite Y position to get gethit and thrown frames.

GMSpectre: Good to hear.

Gladiacloud: I'll have to come back to it, but I posted what I found thus far for Astra Superstars.

This isn't for ripping purposes but for data mining purposes. Can you run Capcom vs SNK2 on anything?
I'm having a really tough time narrowing down the tick values for P1 in NullDC. If I choose the wrong value it crashes the emulator and I have to apply the offset to this emulator every time I boot it. Not to mention it takes forever to get the match going.

You don't have to use NullDC. Please add the Y axis to your artmoney table if you chose to attempt this for me. The ground level value is "0" and it will not go higher than "100"

Thank you for your time

That's for the PS2 version.  If it doesn't work, do a custom address range search.  Have it around where you found the position mods.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/ixojs8

I went and tried it with the NullDC version, and applying the offset didn't work.  So I found it for NullDC.  Then I got sidetracked trying to find a pointer address to C00000 because Artmoney didn't have NullDC 1.0.4 r22 as an emulator option.  If this one doesn't work, go to your x position mod and add 76H to it.

Okay, I just checked this for PCSX2. The value you found isn't the tick value. It's the frame value. But you don't have to worry about finding the tick value now that I know I can record it at 60FPS using PCSX2's built in recorder.
Once again, thank you. This is a great service you're offering in this thread!
