I've resently discovered the "Selection by color" feature in GraphicsGale. I noticed it can move around the color that is selected, but can it change the color of the color selected? If so it would be a major time saver when I'm editing things.

If not, is there any other tool that can do that?

I double click the color to change it's value.

You can do it in gimp. Gimp also has select by color and you can only edit what you have selected in gimp so you could just select by color take out the brush and go to town and only the selected color of the image will be edited. Best of all Gimp is open source.

err...I am curious, why would it being open source matter to someone who is not going to modify the code ?

Well i guess I have misspoke because open source doesn't mean necessarily that the program is free or has no cost. Fine free free free. It's free. It's free to download, to use the code is free, the filter and plugins are free. There is nothing that is not free about The gimp.

Does that clear it up for you.

yeah, I was just curious. Since at work we tend to take notice of open source programs because we can modify them at will.
