Hi, so a few of my characters in my character selection screen are not displayed, but instead they are black. Is it possible for me to fix this problem. I remember before that it had to do with Fighter Factory. Can someone please help?

Did you put the names correctly into the select.def and make sure the directories of the characters are correct in your char folder?

Yes, the characters seem to be fine and usable. It's just their slot portraits that are black. I also noticed that some characters have the wrong portrait for the slots only. The actual portrait is still fine.  Say for example if I want to select Spider-Man, I would have to go to the slot with the mini-portrait of Storm.

(I've noticed that all of my characters that have a "black" slot have reflections of their portraits. Take the portrait of Bishop for example).
I also noticed that when I'm in-game, a few of the characters I use have their portraits out of place. This means that the portraits are not in the frame next to the lifebars.

My final problem is while I'm in the Character Selection screen, a few of my characters have the wrong portraits.

(Notice how I selected Superman instead.) Sometimes Mugen automatically skips a character too. Why is this so? Could it be a related to the character portraits as well?

What should I do to fix these problems? Please help!

Mugen skips a "portrait" because there is no character there, it's just an empty space.

Make sure you typed the character and directory correctly in the select.def

when you open the sff-files of those chars with FighterFactory, you'll see that the small portraits (9000,0) have wrong values. you just have to give them the coordinates 0,0. that's all

Thanks for your help! But I still don't understand why a few of my mugen characters' portraits are out of place while in game...
