So I have this strange issue with GM's chars where their AI takes over after pressing Crtl + 1. Any way to fix this?

Using the 1.0 versions on MUGEN 1.0.

That's what CTRL+1 does I think. If I press CTRL+1 in Watch Mode, I take control of the character, so...

Mugen's readme said:
=====================================================================
IV. Game HotKeys
=====================================================================

These are the hotkeys recognized at the fight screen:

Key       Function
---       --------
Pause     Toggle pause
ScrollLck Frame-step within pause
Esc       Quit

The following hotkeys are for debugging purposes.

Key       Function
---       --------
F1        Sets Player 2's life to zero
Ctrl-F1   Sets Player 1's life to zero
F2        Sets both players' life to 1
Ctrl-F2   Sets Player 1's life to 1
Shift-F2  Sets Player 2's life to 1
F3        Gives both players full power
F4        Reset the round
Shift-F4  Reloads stage, characters and fight data
F5        Time Over
F12       Take a screenshot (saved to mugen?.pcx)
Ctrl-C    Toggles display of collision boxes, target data (including
remaining juggle points) and NotHitBy attributes
Ctrl-D    Toggles debug information display
Ctrl-I    Forces both players into stand state
Ctrl-L    Toggles display of the life and power bars
Ctrl-S    Run the game as fast as possible
Ctrl-V    Enable V-sync (stops "shearing")
Ctrl-#    (where # is from 1-4) Toggles AI for the #th player
Ctrl-Alt-# (where # is from 1-4) Enables/Disables the player
Space     Restores full life and power to all players

Not a bug.
It's the same for all chars.
Though it's difficult to turn it off if the char uses a custom AI for old winmugen.

You can prevent this by:

1. Turning off debug keys.
2. If you don't want to turn off debug keys, don't press ctrl+1

That's what CTRL+1 does I think. If I press CTRL+1 in Watch Mode, I take control of the character, so...

The thing is that after pressing Ctrl + 1 The AI just...takes over. I can change my super arts and the groove for Top-Up but I can't play the character.

Ctrl + 1 toggles the AI.

If it is off, it turns on.

If it is on, it turns off.

Sometimes it's difficult to turn it off once it has been turned on.

Yes we know that. I did it before the round started and thus was able to choose superart/top up level. Which still doesn't answer the question why the character still does not respnd to my controls after the round starts.

If a character has a custom AI designed for the old winmugen, the AI may still take control of the character regardless whether or not you toggle it off.

If you want to chose the char that you fight then...

1. Go to watch mode, chose chars, right when the screen loads up, press ctrl+1 immediately.

2. Go to Vs. mode, chose chars, press ctrl+2 during the character intros.
