Thanks.I'm already fixing some mistakes I made during the outlining process. The lines that are inside the outlines are the shading's (I have to make some others) if you were wondering. I think the eye is done, but the nose...It's also weird that there's really few sprites of him in HR or HD. My attempt is in HR as usual with these SFIII sprites.
I tried to study this "new" old style, and I finished this sprite:It might be useful for Basara's update.P.S.: of course it is not made entirely by me. The sprite is Balthazar's but, since it wasn't finished, I decided to shade the remaining parts. Posted: October 10, 2013, 09:58:10 pmBalthazar, I would like some feedback from you.
Neku:Rescaled (130 x 150%) from the The World Ends With You sprite (NDS). Thanks to menos_grante for the rip.Without effect. So, who's next?Sprite process:
Is that a direct retrace of a sprite? The face is clearly not very DBZ style, and the hair lacks lots of lines that usually are the ones defining volume.
walt said, November 13, 2013, 03:41:46 pmIs that a direct retrace of a sprite?Yes, of a small Supersonic Warriors 2 sprite I rescaled. It's the first one.walt said, November 13, 2013, 03:41:46 pmThe face is clearly not very DBZ style, and the hair lacks lots of lines that usually are the ones defining volume.- It was difficult for me to get the face right (I think) using a small sprite (I challenged myself to do this); I checked some images and this is how I made it. I have to check more references. Is the cheek alright?- About the hair, you're right. How can I improve it? I mean, where should I put the lines? Ah, now I get it!The thick lines are that thick on purpose.
Alex Sinigaglia said, November 13, 2013, 03:52:32 pmThe thick lines are that thick on purpose. Are you turning that BACK into a sprite of a bigger size? The lines ... well, you'd be better off copying the original artwork. Try tracing or copying 3 to 5 official artworks of Broly, or Super Saiyans in general, and you'll see for yourself.Sometimes the lines start where that hair area stems from, sometimes they're at the end. Most of the times, though, like I said, they're supposed to hint at 3D volume of the hair.

Hah, that wasn't my intention, it was just a post scriptum. I forgot to put "P.S.".I'll follow your suggestion. Thanks.Edit 6/7/2014 (the sixth of July 2014)Actually I'm dumb. I didn't read your post properly. No, I'm not (and I was not) going to do that.
Bump!Do you remember this one? I remade it, and it looks tons and tons better than that old one I made.First version. Second version.
