All 12 SFII World Warrior characters selectable into 1 SFF Mugen character.

I had an idea for a mugen creation, much like SFII'CE Rainbow hacks, except it would be World Warrior game play & graphics instead. Pressing Start (taunt button) in mugen would change the character.
I had another idea where instead of changing the character, it would be a survival thing instead. Where you actually had to beat all 12 characters to finish the round. Though I kind of ditched this idea because I would assume it would be too much even for arcade mode. Where with the character switch via taunt button, you would only have to be KO once instead of 12 times.

I already thought about the required sprite limit thing against other characters, and the problems it may cause.
Though what I would do here is include each required sprite for each character, but numbered slightly different These would only be used if the SFIIWW character set was against the same SFIIWW character set. Other times, I imagine they either would not be able to get thrown by KFM, or would just switch in to RYU for a moment when being thrown by KFM.
Although I remember I had a fixed situation for when I did Vent/Aile with different models in the past. For example, if Vent Model ZX was used, KFM would appear to throw Model ZX, with model ZX with a fixed offset instead of actual required sprite offset. Maybe I should do it this way instead if that was the case.

Maybe perhaps selecting a different button in character select screen would give a different character. Or perhaps during the Intro sequences, pressing taunt button would bring up the menu to select which character to start with before using it to cycle between characters during the match.

And of course, my SFII win quote screen for WinMugen & other would stay in tact, displaying the correct character currently in use. Maybe for the next character VS match, would it either revert back to Ryu, or continue with the selected character? I already ave the 4 bosses made, so I could copy/paste some code around, and make it as one character.

The only downside to this is no plans to color separate all 12 of them. Save the space for alternate color sets needed for the 256 color limit. In case to save for WinMugen users.



TL;DR - Long story short.
- SFII'CE Rainbow style character cycle in Mugen, but with SFII WW game play instead.
or
- All 12 Characters in SFII WW game play, survival mode in one round.

I think this would be a great idea as a full game project. I don't really see it working well at all in universal MUGEN. Also add in Shang Tsung so he can morph into every character!

You could build the select screen in the character and everything. This could really be impressive!

Sounds cool.

I don't totally understand what you mean though. Do you mean that it is a character which changes into different SF'IIWW characters when you press Start? If you have problems with the throw frames, you could possibly just make them that Cyborgs frames. ShotoBorg, or whatever his name is.

Wait... Is Sheng Long actually NMario? :P

There wouldn't be any morphing involved. Once you change the character, you'll have the character until the next time you press start. So, you would either always start the game as Ryu, or whatever you set the character variable to, in the CNS file until you switch to the next character in the slot.

Or I could code a character select screen before the match/round begins accessible by pressing start. Sort of like the menu screens of my Vega-SSF2X, and Kega Fusion.

So if the character CNS started with Ryu, and then the player chose Chun-Li in the slot, the WinMugen coded win quote screen would show Chun-Li as the portrait.

I am also planning on 2 separate SFF's. One with the official SFII arcade portraits, and one with fixed portraits for Chun-Li, and Dictator.


Also, this idea for 12 character 1 SFF is based on that I'll probably never finish that one closed fan game project I've been working on that is NOT coded in MUGEN. This way, I can at least save the characters sprites in SFF, and code them as one character without having to manage 12 separate CNS files of each character.
