The Mugen Fighters Guild - Any worthwhile palette tutorials?

I been looking for palette making tutorials on FF for mugen and come up almost nearly empty. only one i found was

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNSZiUnDpjs did everything he did on the darn video, copied my first (and only palette), renamed it, put it into the Def file. I went in and changed just one color (main color) to test on the standing sprite of my character. Hit define color, add to custom, save to current image. Then even saved it under another palette and added that palette. So I exit out and go back in to check the palette, the change only seems to be applied to the character select and character vs portraits when i applied the change to the standing sprite X_x. WTF!

Either I did something wrong earlier or whatnot, i dunno. Or maybe this guy's tutorial is just a load of bumpkis! Just what am I doing wrong?

Oh and also, when i first made the change on the sprite, I tested it winmugen and found only that sprite to be changed instead of all of them even when selected to that palette. Do I need to go to every single sprite I have and methodically change the color of every single one to match that palette somehow? I thought making a palette would apply to every sprite.

Does anyone have any palette tutorials they know of? thats the only one I could think of and couldn't see a palette guide for FF in the intro/guide section.
