I was surprised to see that there is no Arrow thread here.I'm sure SOMEONE besides myself watches this show, especially considering that any of us are willing to put up with Agents of Shield.Tonight was the mid-season finale and I must say I was totally satisfied.Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty"Brother Cyrus" confirmed to indeed be Cyrus Gold aka Solomon Grundy, who was shown to be scarred throughout his face, strongly hinting at him having his gruesome comic book appearance in future episodes. Slade's return and overall appearance more accurate to the comics, Ollie's mask, Roy making the transition to an actual hero, Flash's origin, and overall an amazing episode.I like how they have a few well-known villains and characters here and there (Deadshot, China White) as well as important ones with larger roles (Brother Blood, Merlin), while hinting at future villains (Ra's).
It isn't part of the cinematic universe as far as we know yet. To say otherwise would be pure speculation.
To be honest when i saw the first episode of Arrow i knew immediately that its the story of Green Arrow , with the introduction of Slade Wilson they just confirmed that i was right , so far the TV Series is pure awesome , i enjoyed every single episode of it. I heard that in 2014 we will see the Flash TV Series , cant wait for that one.
NGeo said, December 13, 2013, 12:22:21 pmwhen i saw the first episode of Arrow i knew immediately that its the story of Green ArrowNo shit SherlockWhat gave it away, the green archer costume, the name Oliver Queen, the name of the city, the credits that name DC Comics and Green Arrow ?Season 1 was weird because they didn't know what to do with it for half of it, and then it put itself together and went on the right path, but with the last couple of episodes, the origin story of Flash, Deathstroke, and with everything that's still around (Merlin, Ra's Al Ghul, the Huntress) and everything else, it's getting really crowded all of a sudden, even though now we can really feel like it's the actual comic. One thing that season 1 did right was to stick to only one main storyline, these last two episodes started shooting all over the place at once.
The Laurel storyline has been a dud, but it looks like it may be over now. Not looking forward to Huntress coming back since I thought she was the worst part of season 1. Also surprised we haven't seen more Merlyn.
Well, we had enough of him in season 1, it looks like they made him come back only for the League of the Assassins stuff, but I don't see why they'd throw Merlyn in the middle of the Deathstroke business unless they interact in some way, it'd be weird for Green Arrow to handle both of them at the same time when one of them would just be a repeat of season 1 but then again I could say the same about Huntress unless she's just random filler. I don't think we'll see him again for this season. Maybe once the Deathstroke arc is done (whether he dies or goes the same way as Merlyn), they can use him to lead back into the League of the Assassins arc ending with Ra's... Except he's more Batman material so the League would need another big name to be relevant. If it's not, Merlyn's entire character becomes uninteresting if it's not just to wrap up the Thia storyline and no masked vigilante business. That's the only way I'd see him matter any more, just your run-of-the-mill daddy issue. I'd be okay with that.
Show is alright but that's about it. Season 1 was bad but they improved near season finale and they continued to do so in s02. Here in Poland there are some fanboys of the show who masturbate over each episode and I feel show is overrated. Amnel improved his acting through series but he is still average during dramatic/emotional scenes. But he works well in fighting scenes & such so it's good. Loved Felicity. Actress is pretty, funny, have a lot of charm. I liked Diggle but lately he's not getting any attention, mostly just standing & talking to other characters. I love Caity Loitz who play Sara. She is so much better than Laurel & I hope she sticks with team for longer time. I'm afraid they will kill her later down the road to transform Laurel in real Canary but I don't know how it's gonna happen. Oliver needed 5 years to get good in fighting & hero thing, and I can't imagine how they could do that in 1-2 seasons for Laurel, which is 1-2 years in time. They could pull Time skip though.... We will see but I REALLY REALLY hope Sara will stay. Her recent relationship with Oliver have more life in it than one with Laurel ever has and it's such a shame Laurel proably will be his "ending" girlfriend.... As for Laurel she is most annoying character in the show. I absolutely hate her and it' very suprising that Kate Cassidy play her so bad. She used be so awesome as Ruby in Supernatural (before they replaced her wih another actress ), or on Harper's Island... She is decent actress but in Arrow she plays in "soap Opera" style, which is annoying and the fact that Laurel is regular "damsel in distress" doesn't help. Another reason why I prefer sara who is prety, better writtten and can kick some ass. I often think that Kate inability to act is caused by how bad character is written. From awesome Ruby to bad Laurel is huge difference and I can't believe she's gotten worse in acting department.... My other gripe with the show is that have too many episodes and because of that they put a lot filler material in it. From my experiences less episodes = the better (Person of Interest is proud exception) and good shows mostly end at 13 episodes per season. CW also have habbit of getting all clean & pretty actors which stays clean & pretty even if they are getting dirty, to the point it's looks fake and unrealistic. Many of viewers In Poland also joke that episode without naked chest of Stephen Amnell is bad episode lol It's true though they expose him very often. And BTW they have plans for many seasons. I readed they mentioned that Isand flashbacks will end is season five which will be 5 years from his return, and they will have to replace it with something else. I'm curious about Flash spin-off too because it' will be character with actual powers not with some scientific enhacements like in Arrow. I only disliked that they casted black girl as Iris (Flash girlfriend), but maybe she will turn out to be ok.

Oliver's a seasoned hero (bonus points if they have him sporting the beard) possibly running for mayor like the storyline in the comics pre-Flashpoint. Flashbacks are now to the "present" day to explain things that are happening post-skip.
So did you guys enjoy seeingSpoiler, click to toggle visibiltySlade's eye socket tonight? It was a pretty interesting episode I think. It was fun to see the majority of it be on the island. The next episode is on March 19thSpoiler, click to toggle visibiltyIt will be about the Suicide Squad. People have speculated that the woman featured in the trailer might be Harley QuinnHmmm...
The episode was WAY intense, I loved it. Really good action, no standard CW pop music, it was easily the best one of the season so far.
Eye carambaSpoiler, click to toggle visibiltyAnyone else think it looks like there is a little eye hidden back there? XD
This ep was great. And the suicide squad ep looks awesome as well. His eye cavity was creepy as fuck.
it could be her, I can't see who else it might be. Although I'd rather they not take too much stuff from bats villain lineup. I'm not familiar with all of GA's comic cast in general(besides black canary and speedy) so there's that.
I think it's possible. At this point she's associated with Suicide Squad enough that they could put her in without going too much into her backstory.
Fun fact, the girl who played "Deranged Squad Female" who is clearly Harley Quinn was none other than Tara Strong, the current Harley voice actor
