Yeah the voice was definitely recognizable! Pretty funny cameo.

It's no theory that was definitely harley Quinn  she even said she was a psychiatrist. The episode was a real good. Specially how they switched it up and it was mainly about the suicide squad
I specially liked at the end how they say "We call him Deathstroke"

Just thought I'd ask but does anybody else FUCKING HATE THAT BITCH AMANDA WALER!   I hated her in the comics and in the cartoons.

I think she is kind of meant to be hated. Among all the super powered characters and vigilantes, she has always been a type of real world government character.

I'm just disappointed that she isn't the chubby lady she is supposed to be. Not that her Arrow interpretation isn't pleasing to look at..

Unfortunately, that's a change straight from the comics. Although I guess Smallville did it first when it cast Pam Grier.

The New 52 also made her look like that.
I was worried it would feel like a filler, but it was well done and not out of place, and the little double twist at the end (first name basis, tracking Deathstroke) made it work.

Oh, yeah, and they didn't involve Harley while still having her talk, that helped not feeling like the Squad was taking over out of nowhere (and stick to the ongoing story) while still giving fanservice.

So next episode is the big showdown with Slade. People are speculating that Malcolm might end up saving Thea. Who knows..

So I just got up to speed with this the other day.  Fuckload better than I thought it'd be.  Is it DCCU?

Fun fact, the girl who played "Deranged Squad Female" who is clearly Harley Quinn was none other than Tara Strong, the current Harley voice actor
It was actually Cassidy Alexa, with Strong's voice dubbed over.  So yeah, I don't think they're gonna do that too often.

I think its undecided on whether or not it is part of the cinematic universe. I certainly hope they decide that it is. It doesn't mean we have to have Superman showing up in Starling City but it would be nice to know that everything is connected.

I hope there is a DCCU (it's already connected to the upcoming Flash series since he made his debut in Arrow), and I hope that Man of Steel and the Nolan trilogy are not part of it. And I hope that this upcoming "Batman - the high school years" thingy is not part of it either.
To compare to the MCU, Marvel has a team that supervises everything and it's all the same studios (it's all just Marvel), while for DC, the Arrow and the upcoming Flash are done by the CW network (not like DC or Warner Bros do anything themselves), and the movies aren't connected (the Nolan ones were done way before anything else and we have yet to see what they do with the Man of Steel 2 crossover). Best we can get is random nods acknowledging the other stuff, but there won't be a direct connection until we know where the MoS2/Batman movie goes.

Man of Steel and the Nolan Batman trilogy are already not connected to each other, hence why we're getting a new Batman.

I don't think that's been actually confirmed ? we're getting a new Batman character in the Nolanverse anyway because Wayne retired, but it doesn't mean the Nolan trilogy didn't happen until we're sure it's a new Bruce Wayne. Are we ?
And either way, to be more specific, I hope that the Nolan trilogy isn't part of the shared universe and MoS isn't part of the shared universe either, not just that Nolanverse isn't shared with MoS.

Ben Affleck is playing Bruce Wayne, complete with a new Alfred. They'll probably take things from the previous movies so no one will be too confused, but those movies had a beginning, middle and end.

As far as I'm concerned there's the CW-verse (I think Flash is gonna be the show where you see more of the other heroes), there's Gotham, and there's whatever MoS is trying to build (Snyderverse? Goyerverse?). Maybe Gotham is part of the bigger universe, but if they want to do Bat Babies for 10 years or whatever they probably shouldn't limit what they're able to do. It would be just like the Bat-Embargo back in the days of the DCAU.

I guess you're right. So far it has just been an assumption based on common sense but I suppose there aren't any facts. I do know as much as Arrow not being part of the Nolan continuity though. What with there being League of Shadows in one, and League of Assassins in another.

If Ben Affleck is in fact Bruce Wayne Batman, I really don't want him in the CWverse ! :gonk:
Yeah, the Nolan movies have some good stuff like Ledger Joker (that style would work great in the CWverse), but the movies as a universe are just full of weird one-shot one-plot stuff. The League and Bane don't work as well as the League works in Arrow. Of course it was for a standalone movie (I mean not a long running series), it all served the purpose of that one twist about "the child of RAG" (and Bane's "I was nobody until I put on the mask" line), but even in the movie the twist came out of nowhere, just to have Batman stabbed in the gut (right through his bullet stopping body armor thank you very much). In CW it's an overall threat, something that's permanently out there in the world, it's something that can chug out any new thing any time.

I really hope some of you guys are going to want to talk about the finale, and I'm not just bumping this for nothing.

Anyway, thoughts?

Honestly, Amell and Bennett (Slade) completely sold the whole show. Awesome portrayal and interactions they got there, from the moment Slade appeared, right up until the finale. Thinking of it, season 1 started getting its shit together and knowing where it was going around the time Slade came up and replaced the other "Deathstroke". It's when they stopped making dumb references to characters (like the one to Laurel's voice back in the early episodes or Thea being nicknamed Speedy) while trying too hard to make it more realistic (no actual Canary, Deathstroke is just a random hired torture-man...), and it's also when they started to implement the actual characters, still in a realistic way. Everything after that was based on the interactions between Slade and Oliver (even if Slade wasn't coming back as Deathstroke until S2), and all the other characters gravitated toward that to make it work, and they in turn ended up working out well. They just sort of got in position, aligned themselves on that duo, to make way for this season finale.

Miracle Roy felt to me for a long while like they were trying to go with some version of Arsenal (loony loner of sorts, even if without the weaponry), and Thea turning Merlyn make their relationship feel like the one with Cheshire. While I really don't think Laurel will end up going Canary (with the level of realism they're holding to, and as opposed to the reference they made in the early S1 episodes, she wouldn't suddenly gain the same training as Sarah), Thea is already going over the edge and she's joining daddy, so there's a big chance for Cheshire, but not before the later half of the next season. Just a year of daddy training would be a really short time to turn her into that - and going crazy is an advantage she has over Laurel, who definitely won't have time to get anywhere near a new Canary.

Oh, I'm a little disappointed that Quentin Lance didn't just call out Oliver's name in the middle of that speech he did to him. I was expecting a "buddy, look at me, I'm a cop, of course I know it's you" (even after telling Laurel he didn't care who the Arrow really was). Actually, his character worked out surprisingly well despite being original and not from the comics (after S1 was all "dumb police against good vigilante") (well, I'm looking him up now and he only has the name in common with the comics counterpart so I count him as an original addition).
