-Compared to the dubbing quality today, would you say that Tenchi Muyo's dub was terrible? Or does it hold a special place in your heart?
-Do you think anime would come into public eye more if it wasn't restricted to just the late-night and Saturday morning block?
-What are a few series that could have some success on primetime U.S. television?
-What is the longest total playtime you have logged in an RPG?

  • Quite frankly it's been eons since I last heard how Tenchi Muyo sounds like in the dub version.  I did recall few hammy moments, but nothing to over the top unless my memory is empty on this.  All I know is that I grew up with it, and that's about it.  I barely remember who the entire cast were!  I'll probably revisit one day.

As far as "dubbing quality", it's preference in the end.  Some like subs, inaccurate, butchered or otherwise, and some like to hear what the characters are saying, ear-bleeding, out of character, or otherwise.
  • If you're referring to American TV, flat no.  Better off how it is unless you want to see watered-down stuff.  However, I feel kid-friendly anime have more chances appearing in reruns in US than anything else.
  • May need to clarify on this one on what you mean by series such as the genre and primetime TV.  Otherwise I don't have anything to say on this since I don't really care much for what's on primetime.
  • Pokemon X has my playtime of 540+ hrs since October '13.  Record of Agarest War and Cross Edge with over 150+ hrs on progress, and I think Final Fantasy X-2 around that mark back in '07.  Then again for the latter I was a novice.

I mainly watch my live-action TV on CBS, so the best clarification I can give is that procedurals and sitcoms are common.  But there are a small percentage of fantasy/supernatural shows.
I guess it would depend on the anime series itself (That's what I meant in the question).

YMMV (and the only one that comes to mind), but I think Ghost in The Shell:Stand Alone Complex is the only example of a series THAT could work on primetime (procedural-ish, while still being intelligent).  There are some comedy anime that could apply too, but it depends on what the humor is.
Unfortunately, the animation age ghetto is still an obstacle.  FOX once moved Batman:The Animated Series to primetime, but it failed to gain a larger audience.

You can add to this, if you want.

-Through your RPG experience, you're probably familar with the Tales Of series.  From my experience with Graces f and Xillia, I've found the protagonists to be rather "cardboard" in nature.  Is this just a problem with these two iterations or are there previous titles that have a unlikable or dull protagonist?
-What is the most difficult trophy you've obtained?

Ah I see, so it's general programming on the air.  Well, for that I'll stick with my earlier response since what goes on primetime is just as it is.  It comes does to what's interesting I watch for me, but as far as live-action, well, been a while since I was into it.  But as far as anime in primetime, eh...movies of the type would be the closest.

  • Unfortunately I'm not familiar with Tales series as its one of the 100+ games I need to catch up desperately.  So I don't have an answer to that.  I'm more into Fighting Games than JRPGs at the moment and currently going in order of release dates for JRPGs..
  • My Kung Fu is Stronger from Mortal Kombat 9 Vita version, which is this year I got it.  The fact you are the sole Vita owner you have to quickly improvise on how to rank up the requirements for the entire roster, including the bonus 4 characters.  It paid off but the hours were a different case.

* Would you rather have no style, no grace, or a funny face?

* How the hell did you even get the time to get My Kung Fu Is Stronger on the vita version of MK9?

* Were the bonus challenges that had you play as Tremor not the greatest?

* Who should be the finisher in my Anything Goes moody Smeargle pass based team?

* Is it required to explain my reasons and my rhymes inside your mind?

I'm also under the impression that people keep neglecting data from the game, do you guys know how PotS made his original characters? He actually studied every single game he referenced, down to the core. Doing this properly requires understanding how the original system was made, not just winging it.

  • I would like to have stretchy arms just for you.
  • Good question.  Let's just say Yoga classes are worth your cents.  Also, I don't know how I did it either or where I got the motivation to endure another visit from the S-tier Goblin.  It's just natural it happens that another trick for single users was out of sight and, uh, yeah.  Also I made this but with the server Armageddon of Gamespy is another story.
  • There is a lot of potential for a revamped Tremor in MKX and trying him out in the missions was the best thing to occur in that tower.
  • I shall place my curses to the Asian that pitched on MegaRay's changes at GameFreak so that he will never program or type anywhere ever again.  Also, Shellder with Shell Armor.
  • No, but I'll take your guilt trip at the end of the liiiiiiinnneeeengh.

HELLO THERE!  I'm just going to give a very quick note in the spirit of something something! Why yes of course, I, uh, thought of it this way in order to promote the upcoming follow-up to my game!  Cause you know,  you suc-general consumers can't get enough of repackaging and region loANYWAYS as a thank you my additional gift for the upcoming 2.0 disc upgrade, you all get this gem...

A retelling of Continuum Shift translated by the same shitty intern with even more unfixed errors and audio desyncs,  and it'll be a requirement in order to unlock your netplay, with auto AUTO dialogue!!

  • A bunch I would list but to keep it short, Metal Gear Solid series starting with the remastered versions, every Sonic port in PSN, few RPGs in PS Classics, other JRPGs after finishing Record of Agarest War, and perhaps a few for 3DS.  That's basically it.
  • Greninja (based Pokemon fan) even if it ended up Top 5 during the first version.  Actually, my favorite is the Villager because of Pocket shenanigans, OP tree, and insane recovery with UpB.  Unrelated but my Villager Amiibo came with a badly painted shoe and with all the rage of selling defect Amiibos, well I missed my chance.

The other would be Shulk based on how unique his gameplay is.  The reliance of status buff makes him very unpredictable to fight against.  Very stylish.
  • Noel Vermillion in Queens Gate Spiral Chaos.  In fact, I'm staying with that.

I'm surprised I've yet to get any questions regarding my involvement in Mugen-Infantry's Database that I can update anytime  :lost:

  • I don't know any response to that other than if you feel low interest then it's your choice.
  • The forums are already dead and the database is just there.  I was considering making a topic about what to do for the future of the database but without any ability to update older posts because DJ-Van just comes and goes, there's nothing I can do.

Umezono:
Pretty much.  It's been like "adjust velocity this" and "adjust misc. stuff that".  It has gotten monotonous over time and I think I've been held back.  My brain has also gone into "ideas for revision of both novels" overdrive, regardless of the circumstance.
It happens while I listen to music and it even happens when I'm just working third shift at the grocery store.

Aside from checking the velocities for my character's 22A/B/C & 22B+C moves, I'm not real interested anymore.  Finding out that the music and voices are encoded together in killer7 was about the last nail in coffin. (And the two free vocal isolation plug-ins I installed for Audacity don't perform as intended because the voice-acting in killer7 probably isn't center-panned)

I haven't even done a full check of the frame advantage recently.

Umm, when Umezono said "are you serious," he was commenting on how ridiculous it is to ask that question. He wasn't asking you if you were telling the truth.

Also oh god, two phantom novels.

The first one has been on hiatus for about six months and I became distracted at some point while working on the second one.  While I have good reason for putting my first WIP novel on hiatus (the damned plot needs repair.  So many changes within two years of working on it), I have no reason to stop the second one because the second one has a simple plot that anyone could work with.  (Also, it's a playground for making changes to my writing style.)

Might as well chalk up to my own procrastination or working on too many projects at a time.

But these posts should be moved to a different thread. I don't mean to interrupt the flow of this thread.
