All autistic kids are atheists
The head of Adana’s Health and Education Association for Autistic Children, sociologist Fehmi Kaya, recently caused a stir when he claimed all autistic children were “atheists due to a lack of a section of faith in their brains,” while adding that atheism was a form of autism, according to research.

“Autistic children do not know believing in God because they do not have a section of faith in their brains,” Kaya said, according to daily Milliyet.

Kaya said the underdevelopment of faith sections in the brain caused autistic children to not believe in God.

“That is why they don’t know how to pray, how to believe in God. It is needed to create awareness in these children through methods of therapy.”

Kaya added that autistic children should undergo treatment to “create areas of faith in their brain.”

“They need to develop feelings and learn to form empathy with others. They need to understand why normal people do what they do. As a result of that, they would need to understand that there is a creator, to whom the people pray to and believe in; and they need to understand and internalize that. That way a section of faith can be formed in their brains,” Kaya was quoted as saying.

Autistic children were atheists from birth without being aware of it, Kaya said, adding, “Research says atheism and autistic children are linked. Researchers in the USA and Canada say that atheism is a different form of autism.”

“We cannot expect a child who cannot recognize a picture to recognize God. We need to help the autistic child recognize objects through therapy by targeting areas of senses in the brain,” Kaya said.

Kaya also said that they will turn autistic children into believers through therapy sessions that will be offered freely in therapy centers in the future.(Agencies)

I do have a penchant for demanding sameness, being unable to communicate properly,  repeating sentences over and over again and unhealthy attachment to objects.
Also stacking rocks in piles by size.

What...The...Hell.

They cannot be frikken' serious...

I want to find whoever thought of this and flat out punch their faces until it's turned into hamburger. I actually have autism myself, Asberger Syndrome to be exact. And I am flat out offended by this.

Just for the record, I believe in God.

Is it just me or does faith in the brain hilarious ?
I believe in god but this sounds kinda ridiculous to me to the point that it sounds ignorant.

You know how some people think kids with autism possess higher intelligence?

If this were true, it would support that theory.

It sounds to me like it's supposed to mean faith in the sense of trusting /accepting the belief that something we can't see exists.
Which makes no sense either as soon as we talk about cells or whichever medicine-related microscopic stuff or outer space-related stuff.
The other problem is that it also sounds like anyone who doesn't believe in God is automatically autistic (and not just "sounds like", that's literally what it says too). He justifies himself on how he "didn't say all autistic kids are atheists" but not that he didn't say "all atheists are autistics" (which he did). It's called skepticism, not autism.

Because that's totally how many atheists there are in the world... (I know, he's thinking about autism only, point is, he's wrong)

So what you're trying to say is that I'm automatically less intelligent than you because I believe in God?

Jeez, this forum needs to get it's shit together, people seem to only have tolerance for certain things here.

Only a Sith deals in absolutes. You can be intelligent while believing in God, and be stupid while being atheist, the most he's saying is that not believing gives a head start.

Still uncalled for. Nobody takes shots at atheists on this forum, so it should go both ways.
