I caught up with the last episode yesterday

Its interesting that there was never any notion of other towns or survivors, they live as if there are no humans out there..
The interesting thing about the whole show is that it doesnt use the common japanese shitty anime archetypes, not for fanservice not for anything, its a tale that could have been told in any style, and the very sober style in which it as told benefits it the most.

ofcourrse that rubs off wrong the kind of people that can only understand emotions when they are announced to them.

Yeah that's what I like about it but I can't say it doesn't use ANY of them. Titan forms are starting to become SSJ style shonen power ups, Levi is a generic edgy rival character, Christa is a cutesy naive girl. Other than that it seems to be a very good subversion of most anime stereotypes. Armin doesn't stay a meek little cowardly shota because he grows up and becomes the smartest member of the squad for example. What I like is that it's very visceral, very "real" if that makes sense. Not romanticized like most action manga/anime.

And yes there has been no fanservice as far as I've seen. Well I guess there is in promotional media but not in the show or manga at all.

The story about the miner where it says that the walsl go underground as well hint to a few other sci fi things, for starters they had to have the technology to build at that scale, now they either did it because the titans grow from the ground, or because the whole thing was dropped from above.

I think that there was a hint of other town, i forgot but there's the chapter when it's explained that humans are being depleted, that's why they build walls.

Not true. Levi doesn't want to be better than Eren or anyone else and doesn't fit the rival archetype. Though, personally, he's my least favorite character right now. But I'm sure once his tragic origin story is revealed, I'll change my opinion of him.

I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.

kinda cliffhangery but then again so waa this season's end; they really have to bank in it's popularity, since it's sales numbers are crazy high, even better. another alternative would be making ovas kind of like how kenichi is doing.

@Iced: I don't recall the miner's history, though there are a few spinoffs, is it one of those ?

and the armoured and collosal titan has to be the most anticlimatic plot twist since the main character of mpd psycho's death.

id di read it, yeah it implies that he either found a fundation or that the wall runs horizontally, the fast that he has disappeared hints stuff that we already know, highers ups know what's up with the wall.
