Attacks that are too fast to block?

Hug Pikachus!

I was updating Pikachu (again) when a thought struck me:

You see, I adjusted Pikachu's Lighting Lance so it would hit around 10 ticks after the button combination is inputted.

Is that too fast for a normal person to react and block?

There's no such thing as a move that's too fast to block. It depends on the reaction of the player because of how blocking works in most fighting games.

Unless the attack activates at time = 0, a player should be able to block the attack without problems. A 10 tick start-up is pretty easy to see coming.

Not related to the thread but I will make a comment about Rajaa's post.

If you code an attack so that the hitdef activates in the 1st frame of the 1st animelem, a bug in Mugen makes this attack unblockable.

Some people know about this bug, some don't. That's why it's valid to tell it again.

The problem is that the move's startup does not have a different sprite or indicator that the attack is coming.

Should I include an indicator (i.e. blinking colors?)
