The CPS3 shadows don't blend with the dark orange armor, and they ESPECIALLY don't work with those pure blue pants, it actually just hurts my eyes because the blues are so out of wack. I know that some CPS3 characters do shading like that, like Dudley, but it's not the same, that just looks messy, I'm actually thinking you should do what some CPS3 characters do in that case, where they just have a real dark color instead of the purple shadows, like Chun Li. That or just different placement of the shades. Or you can just say fuck the CPS3 shading and shade it traditionally. It just isn't working.

Sheesh. Don't get on my case just yet.  :(

It makes sense, really, but I think it was just taking it too far. It became more of an eyesore than a faithful CPS3 shading, but that's probably because it isn't in motion.

It's okay I guess, but the pants are still messy. You just have too many shades of blue in there, really.

You're completely right about the colors. Try looking at some CPS3 sprites and compare them to your "CPS3" style you'll see a great difference. Try looking at what you're doing wrong. One thing that I saw was that I do not see not one area that contains 3tone AA at a first glance. Another thing is that it looks like you are not putting in an honest effort to make that sprite look CPS3 like.
Try not to be of the 90%.

I have no problem with the CPS3 version of your sprite Baltazar.
Perhaps only the armor can be a litle bit lighter to make more contrast with the purple part?

Actually I just fiddled around with it. It was actually a good sprite. I would say to

1. Desaturate and darken the purples on his armor a little.

2. Desaturate the blues of the pants (not the secondary shading.)

3. The yellow highlight looking colors on his belt, shift the hue to a more cooler color.

You'll be set afterwards in my opinion! :) Good job nontheless!
