anyone here play Battlefield: Bad Company? Ya know, that game that a few of you might have heard as being the next great shooter?http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/battlefieldbadcompany/index.html?tag=result;title;0yeah, well i just played the demo on 360 and i must say! It's truley........unremarkable....Game is decent at best. in fact the only thing i really enjoyed in the game was the enviroments *sup, launche a grenade into a wall and watch it go KABLOOEY*. Gun play is ok, but controls are awkward for me *right click the stick to crouch? press Y for knife? WTF IS GOING ON HERE?!Basic Info:-Game uses a class/"Kit" for online play *Recon, Assualt, Support, Etc*-Has vehicles such as tanks jeeps and heli's-Uses a HEALTH POINT BASED SYSTEM *booo...so used to regenerative types-Demo only has an "Attack/Destroy" type of mode that can be considered similar to Frontlines Fuel of War, where teams must destroy golden boxes to push enemies back on offense, and opposite on defense-Infinite Run! *Yay!*Discuss?
Just downloaded the demo. For the PS3 owners, yes the demo is available at the PS store. I've made it to the part where you have to destroy those 2 radars. Stopped there to come and type this post. This demo is awesome. Get some surround sound speakers and just listen to how good the gun shots and explosions sound. Love the destructible environments. When they tell you to destroy that tank in that small village, I ran around the buildings and watched the tank blow almost everything up. Exploding sand bags, broken fences, demolished buildings ect.. Watching that convoy get destroyed was pretty cool. Trees falling down in front of me in the next area because of those bombs that were being dropped. It was intense. A nice physics engine is being used here.My only problems is that it was kinda hard for me to spot the enemies. At times I was literally walking out in the open waiting to get shot on purpose to see where the enemies were. The voice acting is average and a bit cheesy. Kinda like COD3. (In reply to what Snake posted)The controls were/are easy to get used to. I rarely used the knife in other first person shooters, so I don't really have a problem with it being mapped to the triangle button. Press in the right analog stick(R3) for crouch? No problem. My thumbs are always on the joysticks anyway, so it's very easy to press R3.So far, this game is looking good(Imo). Can't wait to see the final product.
for me i am not used to the controls. playing games like Vegas and COD before made me go WTF when i picked this up, mainly cause i am either using right stick to aim or melee, not to crouch.i encountered a lot of lag in my playthrough, so much so i noticed alot of times the enemy was killing me, when it appeared they werent even SHOOTING in my direction. with work, i can see this being a very good game, just now i wouldnt spend 60 bucks on it
This game owns, i like the explosions. But the death's screen piss me off, i'd rather see my character as a rag doll. Also tanks are kinda cheap online..
I got you a few times in that one game Rice! The Tanks do feel overpowered and it takes tons of Gernade shots and a few RPG's to break it apart. The AA gun is fucking awesome online. HUEG RANGEhaven't even touched the single player campaign.
single player had some good lines, specially near the beginning when i heard the "dating your cousin" thing from one of your teammates.my bros reaction to the self-healer-thing was hilarious"OH...did he jsut fucking stab himself?!"
