I figured it all came from her head, and it just worked like a super-version of MK's Sindel or something.

I doubt anyone really cares, since Iced's description sounds rather accurate.  Just bugged me when they first showed it.

that reminded me of the guy complaining about nude mai because without outfit she had no place to hide her infinite stock of fans.

@LJK
I'm down with Iced's description, but lolmechy's is what I'm stickin' with the most.
EDIT: 'cept for the nether-realm hair. Gah!
Nothing in the series puts importance in the real-world science of witchcraft, so why should we.
Sometimes it's nice to just bring some suspension of disbelief with you.

She's not completely naked, she's wearing... I don't know how to describe it, but it's a very skimpy thing that covers up her naughty parts. They're like, a strip of cloth or chains or something, they also go down her legs.

But yeah, magic hair. And gross, lolmechy. The hair is all coming from her head in every attack!

Besides, the head is not the only place in a human body that has hair growing out of it!
Clearly you haven't seen enough Japanese porn to know that your statement is entirely false.

  • Bow down to your Tengu Queen!
Pardon my Bayonetta ignorance.  But wasn't one of the big points that was made about Bayonetta's outfit and skills and such is it's all formed out of her hair from her head?  The magic, the blades, her clothing, all of that stuff is just her hair.  How does this new outfit make any sense anymore if her hair's cut?

Playing the first one would probably help, but I'm really confused how this works now.  Seems to me she would lose her powers....and the more unique hairstyle.

her clothes are made of hair, it cascades down from the top and shes naked except for the hair all over her, yeah its sexist as hell, but remember that it was the game that was famed for being able to play one handed.

Um, that's an extremely bold statement to make...
Bayonetta's(and by that account, the Witches) abilities that they use magic and summons through their hair comes from a real life folklore about witches that use magic through their hair. Not to mention it's also pretty bold to state a woman going commando is sexist itself...

Ice, you need to explain yourself.

I'm not sure that anything Platinum could possibly do to make Bayonetta be clearly and offensively sexist, short of an Other M situation. Mostly due to the extreme camp and tongue-in-cheekiness.

I don't know. It's a complicated subject. I lean towards "not sexist", though.

I'll admit I'm pretty sick of Platinum's in your face over the top shameless gratuity but Bayonetta plays it for jokes so I'm okay with it there.

Tha hair attacks are not sexist thats not remotely what I said.
The game itself has a woman doing stripper dancing and getting naked while fighting , shaking her hips and moving suggestively, her powerups are all lollypops and theres a ton of sexual innuendo in the game, the creators themselves boasted about how you would be playing it one handed, she literally shoves female angels in torture horses and while they moan she tortures them, how is that not sexist?

And yes im aware its supposed to be campy and funny sexyness but it doesnt make it less sexist like when there is a female angel in a torture horse moaning.

I mean, dead or alive is considered sexist and it never had a woman's vagina being tortured for laughs.

“In addition to the original’s gameplay system—dodging at the last minute to perform Witch Time, saving up your Magic Gauge to use Torture Attacks—Bayonetta 2 includes a new feature called Umbran Climax,” he writes.

“Now saving your Magic Gauge also gives you the option to unleash a combo made of successive Wicked Weave and Infernal Demon summons. This wide-ranged attack can effectively give you free rein over the battlefield.”

Bayonetta On Wii U: 60fps, Off-TV Play, Dual Audio
Quote
Retail copies of Bayonetta 2 will come with the original Bayonetta bundled with them, Nintendo revealed at E3 this past week—and the Wii U version of Bayonetta will have a few exclusive features.

For starters, you’ll be able to use the Wii U GamePad touch screen and stylus to control the game, just like the optional touch controls in Bayonetta 2. Additionally, off-TV play using the GamePad for the original Bayonetta is confirmed as well.

Nintendo have also confirmed that you will be able to choose between Japanese and English voice-tracks in Bayonetta. Finally, they’ve confirmed that Bayonetta will run at 60 frames-per-second on Wii U.

Bayonetta 2 Will Have Online Co-Op Multiplayer
Quote
Bayonetta 2 will have an online co-operative multiplayer mode, Nintendo announced at E3. The mode is called “Tag Climax,” and will let two players team up together.

Additionally in online quick matches, you’ll be able to wager Halos, the in-game currency earned by defeating enemies. If you can prove that you’re a better fighter than your partner, you’ll earn a large number of Halos back.

Halos can then be traded in story mode to unlock new techniques, buy new accessories, and pick up alternate weapon variations.

Bayonetta 2 will be released on Wii U this October. Retail copies of the game will come with the original Bayonetta included, with a few Wii U-exclusive features.

"I hate the logo of WiiU ver.," tweeted the outspoken game creator in English. "Junk." In Japanese, Kamiya was slightly more salty, tweeting, "The Bayo 2 package is shit. Who's the damned bastard who changed it..."3

He should try to convince them to do a reverse cover, but I don't think I've bought a game from them on GameCube on up that had the option.
