Hey veteran and new Mugen players, I was wondering if you guys can name a few good SF2 characters that are the most accurate in terms of gameplay along with the author. Your help is much appreciated thanks in advance.  :sugoi: ....

oh and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Hello guys.  I have touched children.

Well, define "SF2". There are five versions ov Street Fighter, seven if you include Hyper and Remix.

As far as the original SF2 is concerned, the best characters are by Rin & Bat and Masa/Masadas (though you should probably disable the start command in Masa's characters as that menu that appears is very annnoying when fighting one of them). Super Turbo characters are my forte, though some of them have bugs and the shotos (Akuma/Gouki and Ryu) still need work.

That's as far as accurate SF2 characters go.

There is not a single sf2-accurate conversion worth mentioning but one, a guy was working on a sf2 ryu one or two years ago, I don't even know if he finished.

I think you mean Kei Dasshu/Leon Belmont/Yeong Woong.

Yeah, the guy started SF2 Ryu, SVC Ryu with accurate gameplay, SVC Ryu with gameplay fitting his style, CVS Ryu with total revamped gameplay, SF3 Ryu (he got beaten by GM :P) ... and he never finished one of them.

Also, felineki has been working on SF2 for a long time now, gathering maximum info, but I have no idea if he started coding a character.

There's more to SF2 than just Ryu. Not much more, mind you, but there's more.

sorry guys I was hoping someone would point me in the direction for a SSF2T MBISON/BALROG/BOXER. I really don't need another Ryu, Ken, or Gouki.

I have one in the works, though it won't be released until next year (i.e., six days from now at the least).

No I haven't coded anything. But I have been studying the engine a lot and would be willing to share info with anyone who wants to attempt coding an SF2 character. I have an ArtMoney table for SSF2T on Kawaks somewhere which would allow for gathering of velocities and timings (although timings can be done easily enough without it), as well as help with proper-axis sprite ripping. It could possibly be adapted to other versions of SF2. I know about accessing hitbox diagrams on the CPS1 SF2s (there's currently no known way to do so for the CPS2 SF2s aside from the recently-released HD Remix). And I know about many of the general system quirks and such.

If you could share all of that information with me via PM (including the ArtMoney table), I'll be eternally grateful, bestest friend, forever in your debt, etc.

And if that isn't enough...(jk)

I'll go ahead and just post a few things here first, just in case any one else feels like using them. First, the ArtMoney table is here: http://home.mchsi.com/~mbiddinger/SSF2X_J940223.amt It was made with ssf2xj (Japan 940223) on WinKawaks 1.57. Sound Code Number display is included in the table for easy offset finding. As I said earlier, this could possibly be adapted to other versions of SF2, as the overall data structure seems similar from the glances I've taken. If there's any interest, I'd consider making tables for other versions of SF2.

One note: When data gathering in SSF2T, you'll want to use the "SSF2 Speed" cheat. SSF2T creates varying speeds by skipping display of frames, and even the slowest normally accessible speed skips some. The "SSF2 Speed" cheat displays all frames, causing the game to run at its base speed.

Info on hitbox display and Obj Test mode for the CPS1 SF2s is here: http://randomselect.piiym.net/forum/index.php?topic=2288.0 http://randomselect.piiym.net/forum/index.php?topic=3494.0
